The historical location is close to all the sites which are easy to walk around. There is a Plash bus and metro station very close by which allows you to see the sights without having to walk too much. The room was very clean and very comfortable. There's complimentary coffee and muffins for breakfast. Which was good. Although there's a delightful breakfast/lunch cafe across the road that served wonderful coffee, tea etc and delicious sandwiches cakes and treats. The hotel had a fantastic restaurant. The staff member who checked us in gave us a 25% saving voucher which was brilliant. All the staff we met were friendly, helpful and very thoughtful.
There's a very busy motorway/highway running in front of the hotel so it's pretty noisy all the time if you have your window or balcony doors open otherwise for us it wasn't too bad. Although there is a wonderful view of the River and it's activities as well as the amazing bridge. At night it's all lit up so all looks beautiful The rooms around the back were fine but you didn't really get the views.

We loved our room and the size of it! The bathroom was nice, and we stayed in a room with the spa bath (the bath had jets). Everything was well stocked, and the staff had a crib ready in the room for our toddler. Everyone there was super nice and greeted us. The muffins at breakfast were ok, our son loved them. We loved having the train station right around the corner.
The building really wasn't stroller friendly. There were four steps to enter the building and our room was down a side hallway where we needed to go down four more steps and then up two to access it each time. We wish we'd known ahead of time that the building really wasn't accessible. We constantly had to lift the stroller + a 30lb one year old in / out.

A beautiful gem of a hotel in a perfect location! We were a short walk away from many restaurants, stores, and coffee shops, 10 mins from Lincoln Financial Field, and 17 minutes from the airport. The staff was amazing and Sebastian was always there to greet or assist with a smile. The rooms were spacious, beautifully quaint, and meticulously cleaned - perfect for romantic getaways, peaceful stays, and just for fun trips. The morning muffins and coffee were homemade and scrumptious. Also, the wine bar and restaurant within the hotel was beautiful and served true italian dishes. You won't be disappointed!
We did not dislike anything.

The property was great; a beautiful lobby, beautiful restaurant attached. The wallpaper was fancy. The room was fantastic. Very comfortable and clean. Room felt homey and cozy. The fireplace was so nice to have, and it was actually pretty quiet. I really enjoyed the stay. It was extremely comfortable, very clean the staff of the hotel and restaurant were kind and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
Parking wasn’t convenient but was able to find street parking not car away.

Antonio welcomed us warmly and recommended a fabulous place to have dinner on our first night, The Plough and the Stars, an Irish pub nearby. All of the hotel staff were helpful and kind. I left several items in my room and they kept them for me and even sent one to me. Myself and my friend had a wonderful time in Philadelphia and that was largely due to the excellent location of this hotel in the historic district. I also highly recommend Frieda a community Cafe nearby on Walnut St...Best breakfasts ever! And wonderful staff and beautiful space.

The staff was friendly, and the hotel was excellent. I somehow thought it would be bigger, but it met my expectations. The room was simple but had everything you need. I only stayed one night for a concert but the bed was really comfortable.
The hotel is across from a highway, so there was residual noise. I had earplugs, so it didn't bother me much, but it may be bothersome if you don't and you are a light sleeper. It's also at the bottom of the city, so a bit of a trek if you were to walk. I also was disappointed I didn't get to try the restaurant. It has fantastic reviews, but I found it was fully booked when I went down for dinner.

Nice Old style hotel, welcoming and really friendly staff. Breakfast was muffins and coffee, milk, tea… it may sound a bit short but muffins were different flavours really yummy!. Room very clean, good size. Nice location,. Parking was a bonus. The hotel doesn’t have any parking facilities, but it is located really close to a parking lot. We didn’t use the car, the historical center is in a short walking distance
Some other guests and us, had the same problem, the GPS of our navigator sent us to a very narrow street, just behind the hotel, as the hotel is in a corner we couldn’t see it. So we were turning around for a while. I know it’s not a hotel problem but perhaps including some directions to arrive at the hotel could be a good idea.

Front desk and staff were all super friendly and accommodating and allowed for an early check in. My room was very clean and comfortable. I wanted a place to stay close to the river link ferry for a concert and the hotel was perfect for that. Loved the location right in old city and by the waterfront. Really liked the 12 noon check out time and the parking lot was right next to the hotel. Location was super convenient and easy to get to right over the bridge from NJ.
I realize that it might not be something that can be done because it's an older building but the room did not have a mini refrigerator. Just an FYI for other travelers. I will stay here again which I will in 2 weeks for another concert, my stay was perfect.

Very small and personable. Place has lots of Character. Each room is different. Antonio the General Manager, was Concierge, reservation desk, greeter, handyman, bartender, etc. he was everywhere. And it’s not that they didn’t have help. He was just assisting everyone and everywhere. He has humor and compassion. Every single person on his staff who we came in contact with was the friendliest. The old slogan “city of brotherly love” has not been used in a while, but this hotel truly brings that slogan back.
Not really a lobby where guests can sit together, but then again that would take away the charm of the Inn.

The hotel's location is perfect, with easy access to the subway and a direct line from the William H Gray train station. Although the hotel is located by the road, I was pleasantly surprised that I slept well. The room was cleaned daily, and the shower was great. The guy at the reception was very helpful and even lent me a kettle to make tea in my room. The lobby offered free muffins and coffee from 6-10am daily. There are many restaurants to choose from in the area, and being located in the Historic District, you can easily visit all attractions from 2nd Street onwards. I highly recommend this hotel, especially to solo travelers.
