I loved the quaint atmosphere of the inn! The location is super convenient. Once we parked our car, we mostly walked everywhere. We did use one of the biker/rickshaw once to get back after shopping at the market. The morning waitress with the beautiful accent was amazing! I'm sorry I don't remember her name. She was so friendly and bubbly in the mornings! Our breakfast was always delicious. The fruit was fresh, the dishes were darling, and the food was high quality. I expected typical hotel waffles but these were a step above! Tea time (wine time) was a wonderful touch! I loved how there was always coffee, water, and snacks out for guests to enjoy. I plan on coming back with my mom and sister later this year. We were sad to have to leave a day early due to a family illness. We will definitely be back!

Such a cozy inn with the best staff! I love that the complementary breakfast is made to order, and that it’s offered until 10am for those late sleepers. They have snacks and water out too throughout the day which is nice. Parking on site is a plus, and even though it does cost to park, it’s not nearly the price you’d pay in a lot/parking garage. The location can’t be beat! We were steps away from King Street, and within 1/2 a mile of everything else.

The bed was super comfortable, but there was only 1 pillow per person, so extra pillows would be nice.

You're made to feel very welcome. -Loved the free breakfast each morning, some great options on there for non-meat eaters -Very comfortable room -Amazing location in the centre of Charleston, within walking distance of King Street and basically every central destination -Appreciated the parking space, although this does carry an additional charge -Free amenities such as coffee, tea, soft drinks, fruit and cereal bars -"Wine time" each day was a lovely touch.

The coziness of the place was amazing. The chairs on the terrace were definitely my favorite place to decompress and relax with a glass of wine. The rooms and restrooms were really clean. It is an old building but it adds to the Charleston vibe for sure, and you can tell the staff stays on top off fixing the place. The location its definitely optimal if you are planning on walking all the downtown like we did. Lastly, the staff was amazing!

The parking lot may flood a little bit during rainy season but i don’t think it is reason to worry.

This is a lovely place to stay. The price was reasonable for the location. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good mostly.

It was a bit further than we thought, but it was all very walkable. The avocado toast was soggy bread and not toasted on two of the days, but they replaced it if we asked with croissants. The carriage house carpeting on the stairs is old and depressing. The cleanliness is a bit lacking. The blinds and window treatments need to be replaced; they are falling apart on some windows. With a bit of investment, this places would be a 10.

The room was beautiful! The inn its self was very nice. The rooms have antique furniture, which i loved. The room was very clean. Loved the little courtyard. Close to everything. Breakfast was delicious, they have snacks out all day, and tea time, they have finger sandwiches, with different teas and wine out. The staff was very friendly! I would highly recommend this place, it has more of a home feel than a hotel feel. Staff was willing to go above and beyond for any of your needs!

Not many outlets in my room. I like having my phone charge beside me so i can check the time, but that's just my thing. I had brought a long charging cord. So it turned out fine for me. I really don't have any complaints. Everything was fantastic.

The room was really spacious and well equipped, there was lots of furniture with space for clothes and a small seating area with the bathroom off that. The furniture fits the period feel of the house and looks good in the room, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean and tidy. The staff member who greeted us was very friendly and welcoming and explained everything clearly - we didn't really come into contact with the staff again after that, which was fine as we didn't need anything. There is free coffee, tea and snacks outside the room. There are plenty of sockets and usb slots to charge a phone.

As others have flagged, the rooms are a bit tired. The annex doesn't have the charm of the main house, but even that is looking a bit faded itself. Our bathroom felt a bit cramped with the toilet right next to the bath. The towel rail fell off the wall when I lifted a towel off it, and the sink was badly cracked. The rooms aren't very well soundproofed - our upstairs neighbours moved around a lot during the night and other guests were opening and closing doors at all hours, so earplugs would be a good bet.

All the staff without exception were very helpful and very pleasant Couldn’t fault them.

Bathroom not great with cracked wash hand basin and no room to swing a cat but plenty of hot water and lovely soft towels No bedside table on one side of the bed was a bit inconvenient but managed to work something out by utilising the suitcase rack !! AC very noisy but much needed Breakfast not particularly to our taste but starters were ok Granola nearly broke my teeth though Hadn’t realised breakfast booking times were first come first served so had a slight problem one day but was sorted as a “ to go “ by your very helpful receptionist

This place is GREAT! Conviene the location to King Street and downtown. We stayed in room 13 in the Carriage House. The room was lovely, the bed was comfortable, and the size was perfect for what we needed. All of the staff are super friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. There are snacks, coffee, and hot tea available 24:7. I will honestly say that the Barksdale House has more than exceeded our expectations.

Maneuvering in the parking lot can be tricky if people are parked along the fence. We mainly walked everywhere, so it wasn’t really an issue.

we spent the 1st night in room #10 - very comfy bed and room; the next 2 nights we were in room #5. The room was spacious, clean and delightfully furnished. The mattress not so much. If you could replace the mattress I would give this 5 stars! The location is excellent. We parked out car and walked everywhere we wanted to go. We would recommend the Barksdale Inn to anyone.
