Location was great! We had excursions away daily and also liked Friendship Tower trail close to Lodge. Kids liked the pool but didn’t know until last day how to get the water features working. Maid service super accommodating to switching out towels and getting us large garbage sack since we didn’t use their service all week. I liked the fact the sink and counter were separated from bath and toilet room!

M&M remnants left by the refrigerator. No hot water showers on Last day of stay with no notification! The restaurant always had a wait and a few times hostess at front was unfriendly(female July 4th). Would love the option to order ahead for takeout since it was hard to get in.

I was very impressed with this hotel. The beds were comfortable, our housekeeper had outdone any hotel I had been in. Its not often that when they clean in the middle of your stay that your sheets are new every day, toiletries were restocked, towels were replaced and freshened up, even our sons portable highchair was wiped down and cleaned. Was beyond impressed with housekeeping here. The pictures of the pool do not do it justice as my kids had a blast it was clean and well maintained. We ate at the bar and grill in the lodge and the food was great service was good. The location of the hotel was what we were looking for where we weren’t in the chaos of downtown, but going downtown only took 5 minutes tops to get there, and the view was great. You tend to get a lot of rude staff in casinos but they were polite and attentive. The Lodge will be our stay for our next trip to the Black Hills!

Something for everyone!!

The fact our children all had slim of some sort from the hot tub that wouldn’t wash off! Went down after 1 pm when it closed and talked to night staff. She was nice and stayed she would leave a note for manager to correct the problem and to comp. Us and never did. Upon checking out spoke with said manager, she said thank you letting me know and called maintenance and never offered anything else. My autistic child has to now have her hair hair buzzed because we can’t get it out. Even after using 7 different kind of shampoos!!! She doesn’t understand!!

Gluten free options on the menu, and the kitchen staff was all over it and we were not treated like outcasts for having a disease. It went so well I ate all my meals there instead of eating at other places in town.

Wish the other side of the restaurant was open for more relaxing environment. And the room rates are a little higher compared to other places in town. I know the Lodge is new and has a large parking lot but the others are cleaning up their acts and could have saved me a few hundred dollars to gamble with since I didn’t Doran’s a lot of time in the room.

The location was great! The kids absolutely loved their pool. The hotel had free parking and the hotel staff was very friendly! And the room was very clean.

I would not recommend eating at the hotels restaurant. I’m not sure if they were under staffed (who isn’t these days) but it took an hour to get our food. It was hard to entertain 2 toddlers during this wait and the food was not that great! The food was very bland and not worth the price we paid. Definitely find some local restaurants in town!

Everything was great. Staff were courteous and very friendly especially in the onsite dining hall, outstanding service. The food was always great and the prices overall for the room and dining were great.

Can't think of anything. We are pretty easy going. Everything met our expectations and beyond.

I really liked that we had everything at the hotel that we needed as far as bar/restaurant/casino. The location was great since it was not on the "main traveled path" of Deadwood. The fact that they had the trolley to shuttle guests right to main street Deadwood was amazing and cheap. Didn't have to bother calling a taxi for transportation.

The pop machines on our floor kept eating our money when we tried getting pop/water. The trolley that came to shuttle us around kept running late. We should have just been informed that the trolley comes twice an hour instead of giving us times to catch it since we had to wait close to 30 minutes while we could have been doing something else. Very minor complaints though. Would recommend and would absolutely stay here again.

It was clean, the view was excellent, they had everything we needed, parking was very easy for cars, trailers and RVs. We tried to think of a flaw or something that could have been better and we can’t come up with anything. Would definitely stay there again.

Not a thing. I didn’t like that the casino attached to the hotel took my money.

We love the Lodge! Always clean, always a friendly staff and we always feel safe!! Thank you for providing such a great place for our girls weekend away from our husband's and kiddos!

2 complaints... we attempted to sit in the hot tub... it was more of a cold tub! Not very warm and had a haze! Also, bees were awful in the back parking lot!

Overall, a clean, comfortable, quiet room. Bed was very comfortable with warm coverings, not just thin, sheet-like material. Plenty of light and places to plug in devices. Dinner at the in-house restaurant was more than sufficient, well priced and delicious. Plenty of gaming to be had as well.

No negatives to be listed. No place is perfect, but The Lodge runs pretty close, judging from my most recent stay.
