We traveled the week before Memorial Day. Our first vacation away from our state since we retired AND our first vacation with our Rescue Dog. He was very comfortable there and didn't fuss or any sounds/bark. It was so pleasant and quiet that there was no need to feel unsafe. The room was very comfortable with a mid-century vibe, large bathroom area, mini fridge, TV, dresser space, etc. There was also a nice all wood table & 2 chairs so we could have our meals (take-out from the attached restaurant) in the comfort of our room. 2 garden chairs right outside the door if we wanted to sit outside. Very quiet & private,. Walking distance to downtown historic Main Street Deadwood, across the street from Mickelson Trailhead and along a main drag that could take us in different directions on our day trips. Hotel management was exceptional & helpful. Couldn't be happier. Would recommend highly to anyone looking for a 1 night stopover or a 3 night stay like we did. It will be the first place we stay again if we travel to the area in the future.

Our dog didn't care too much for the "pet area" which was a overgrown and could use some reseeding. Other dogs that stayed in the hotel didn't seem to have an issue with the area so we equate this to just our dog feeling too distracted. He did not have any privacy. BUT we solved that with a little walk each time he needed to go out. No problem.

An old school hotel that has been decently maintained by the current owner/staff. Reasonable sound proofing to avoid the motorcycle/car traffic on what is the main route to Lead, SD. While we did not go to the restaurant, it appeared to be an orderly, clean local place that served decently priced fare. Would recommend for those that are coming to the area for DUNE work in Lead, SD for brief or week long stays.

Our room was in a Wi-Fi dead spot, so had to sit in car in front of other rooms to access internet. Also, the pool appears to have been closed since COVID at the time of the visit.

The room was nice and clean. The parking lot was bigger than the the last place stayed at.. We stayed on the first floor, so it helped my mother in law since she walks with a cane to enter the room easier.

The parking lot was bigger, but there were a lot of ATV's taking up spots. I am not sure if other parking arrangements could be made for the ATVs. The only thing is if more ATV customers stay, am sure they would get the say :-) Restaurant was a bit expensive compared to other eating places in Deadwood.

Don't be put off by the exterior which looks a little worn down. The room we stayed in was large clean and well equiped, the air con though was a little bit noisy. We slept well and the hotel although busy was quiet and we weren't disturbed at all. It was far away enough from the centre to be quiet but a 15 to 20 minute walk saw us in the main street. Breakfast in the adjacent restaurant was excellent.

The hotel was clean. It was about a mile walk into the old town historic area. The woman at check in was super friendly and helpful in answering questions. There is a trolley that runs every 30 minutes. It costs $2 each direction. It stops right outside the hotel. We did not eat at the restaurant, but it looked very popular and many hotel guests were getting take out. They give warm fresh baked cookies at check in. Yes, this hotel was great! There is a rodeo in town if that’s of interest!

The food was surprisingly really good! Freshly squeezed orange juice! GIANT Carmel rolls! Fried steak tips super flavorful and tender! Really good especially for the price. The rooms were clean and charming. Check in and out was simple and easy. And Connie was fantastic! She was super sweet and was ready to help you out with anything you might need. 🫶🏻👌🏻

Nothing, it was all great.

The staff was very friendly. Ample parking and room was large. Food at on-site restaurant was excellent. Loved that there was a fan in the bathroom. The beds were extremely comfortable and the shower had plenty of water pressure. The cleanliness of the room was exceptional. Each room was provided with chairs and an ashtray outside of the unit. The view outside of our room was beautiful. We would set on the patio and watch the deer on the hillside. Cannot say enough about this hotel.

There was not refrigerator. Most rooms had them but they were in the process of replacing them and they are only getting 8 at a time (due to shipping issues). The second floor ice maker was not working.

Great place, the room was clean and comfortable. The personnel was great and really helpful. Not only with details on the hotel but also with recommendations on what to do around. 5-10 mins walk to the center of town.

The overall stay was great, I have no complaints about the place itself, just be aware that the cell connection will be pretty bad unless you have Verizon.

i was going to a convert and would not be back to the room for awhile and the staff prioritized my check in so i could get into the room early. i like the microwave and fridge. i hope they have them in all the rooms.

i got back after dark and when i hit the light switch none of lights turned on and it was very confusing to find a light switch in the dark and was triping on items trying to find the light.
