Everything was great! It was the friendliest and cleanest hotel that my daughter and I have stayed at on our trip to Kansas.

The manager was very friendly and put me at ease with regard to saftey. I was a little worried from some of the reviews that it would be unsafe for a lone woman but assured me that it was OK. She was right - I felt safe and the area was very quiet. Yes, the room is small and spartan but, for the price, it can't be beat.

The room smelled a little like someone smoked in it a long time ago - given the age of the motel, it's understandable.

The coffee and donuts along with bananas were good. The gentleman behind the counter was nice and polite and cordial. The location was close to restaurants and shopping centers.

The room was comfortable but could use some renovation. The outlets worked but need to be updated, there were no usb outlets. The tv’s were anchored to the dressers so you couldn’t adjust viewing angles.

Had a Continental breakfast. Coffee was fresh and good. Cute decor. The location was handy to everything we needed. We were able to view the fireworks from out front of our room. Air conditioner worked well.

Carpets were old so there was some odor but not enough to be a problem. They were still nice looking and matched the charming 1950 decor/vibe. Tub was slow to drain but told them and was corrected right away.

The Lazy U is a clean and comfortable place to stay, convenient to local attractions and amenities. Building and accommodations are old but a very reasonably priced place for sleeping.

Healthy breakfast options were limited; most options were Hostess snack cake items.

This little motel in the heart of Rapid City may not have a pool or fancy workout facility but it does have super clean rooms, comfy beds and a very nice staff. The night we stayed in mid July the motel was completely booked and I was glad I had made my reservation early and didn’t wing it. Check-in was easy and my daughter was delighted that we were given an actual room key. She’s big into retro. She ran down to check out the room before we started to unpack the car. The room was spacious with two queens. The AC was off but cooled the room quickly after we turned it on. There was a microwave, a tv, and a full refrigerator. There was also a large dresser, nightstands, a little desk and a table with two chairs. The bathroom was very tiny but got the job done. The beds were very comfortable and we got a great night’s rest. They did offer yogurt, breakfast burritos and coffee the next morning but we choose to go out for breakfast so I can’t report on those features. Overall it was a functional if not fancy place to stay.

The bathroom was about the size of a broom closet.

Old style Motel, but very clean and well presented. The Manager was very nice.

The location was great! We were moved into a kitchenette and there was lots of room. The AC was able to keep the entire room cool. The bathroom was very clean.

There was only one blanket on the bed.

The Manager was great and we had conversation. She didn’t act like she was there to just take my money. Beds were comfy and it was a quiet area.

Pillows were flat otherwise enjoyed my stay
