I would give the staff at the hotel 100% for friendliness but the waitress in the dining room, the African-American girl was very unfriendly and seem to resent any request for service. The manager at the spa could use some training, she was very unclear about payment for services and prices and assumed customers knew the routine. This is not my first experience at a spa and everyone has a different system and guests need to be aware of how payment and tips are handled.

I was on the third floor, and the walls are very thin. There were children staying above my room and the running and door slamming was very annoying.

The staff was very friendly. The grounds were beautiful and I loved the atmosphere! The hot tub was great! The room was nice and the beds were very comfortable.

Our room didn't have a refrigerator which would have been nice to have. Our room was up on the 4th floor and there is only one elevator in the building leading to the 1st floor to get to the lobby. My family and I love playing foosball & ping pong. The game room had a foosball table but NO balls. The ping pong table had one racquet and NO balls. The air hockey table didn't work. That was disappointing. Someone should be there to check those items so the games work for their guests. The room was a bit pricey. I think we ate at the Marsh Tavern. The menu was extremely limited. It only had 3 different types of hamburgers to choose on the menu, no other options but I'd come back again:)

The historical buildings on this property are something to behold. It was really a great visit for our entire family - I’m a tough traveler to please and they exceeded my expectations at this resort. There was also added bonuses I wasn’t expecting such as an Easter egg hunt for the kids and afternoon cider. Great bedding! Amenities stocked well in the rooms. Just pleasant extra details that made our stay extraordinary. The facilities offer so much for a family to partake in. The location was great too for shopping and dining.

Quintessential upscale New England hotel. The hotel staff was gracious, polite and accommodating.

Room 139…adjacent to an entryway and extremely noisy as the exterior door does not quietly close. However the front desk immediately accommodated us with a quiet and comfortable room on the second floor. What could have been a less than relaxing night was immediately remediated by the responsive staff! Kudos to the Equinox

The on-premise restaurant was enjoyable - atmosphere and plates. The grounds and amenities were very nice and well maintained. The hotel common areas and lounges are located throughout property. The staff were very pleasant and enjoyed hosting my family of five.

The pool house and spa are very nice and clean. However, the fitness equipment is dated in comparison to the quality and level of the spa.

Our first allocated room had a very sloping uneven floor which was understandable given the age of the building however we couldn’t have stayed in that room. The staff were only too happy to find us a better room.

Banana’s Foster was an excellent choice on the menu!!!! One of my favorites but very rarely seen on a menu where we come from.

Did not like that it was a pet friendly hotel. For those of us that like to sleep at night it was very disturbing to have someone running their dog up and down the hall a good part of the night

Rooms were needing a refresh in particular the bathrooms. One of our bathrooms drain didn't work and moldings were falling off. Also the AC was not working properly so the room got very cold during the evening. They did seem to fix it once we reported it.

Beautiful, historic inn kept in great condition

The loud reggae music in the quaint bar/pub was a bit much and way out of place. The music (and I don’t think any is required) should be for the guests, not the bartender. Ethan Allen would not approve.

Location was fabulous and all staff was very friendly. Room could use some updating, though I know that is sometimes difficult at a historical property. Beds, linens, and pillows were comfy.

The cost per room didn’t match up to the expected quality. The on-site restaurants were extremely expensive in comparison to quality. Breakfast buffet would have been expected to have real eggs rather than powdered. One thing that surprised me was that many of the morning waitstaff walked around with their personal winter jackets on. Presumably because they were cold. Having managed AAA 4 Diamond historical properties and resorts myself, I found this strange to be allowed by management as none of the guests seemed to be cold while dining.
