The hotel is very centrally located. I lived in the Dupont area for decades, and this hotel is perfectly positioned between Dupont and downtown. My room had a great view of 17th street.

The lobby was a bit beat up. Nothing was in disrepair, but it could use some love. The 'fitness facility' was just a couple of cardio machines and a consumer grade cable machine.

We really liked the location of this hotel. It was easy walking distance to a metro station and a grocery store. The staff were very helpful and made superb suggestions. Our room and bed were comfortable. The room had a lot of space as we were upgraded to a room with a sitting room and kitchenette. We used the air conditioning, and a fan, a lot as it was very hot the ten days that we were in DC.

The rooms are a bit dated but that didn't bother us as everything worked and was comfortable. If you are looking for a hip hotel then this probably isn't the one for you. However, if you are looking for a place to sleep and hang out that is clean and pleasant and not too expensive then I would suggest this hotel.

Would have been a 5 star from me had the hotel had a restaurant. It was not made clear at all when booking, or at any point before arrival that there was no restaurant. In fact, on booking.com, it started that breakfast was available by paying at the property. When I asked for a list of local breakfast options, I was given a print out of local, expensive eateries which didn’t open until quite late in the morning, despite there being a Johnny Rockets less than 5 mins away with a great breakfast buffet for $18. All this said, I would 100% stay here again, especially I know that there’s a great breakfast option nearby and which opens early.

the outlet in our bathroom kept tripping so I was unable to use the hairdryer. the carpet felt wet in places. I felt I needed to wear shoes at all times.

The hotel is centrally located in a very nice section of DC. This is their third time I have stayed in Washington DC and I’ve always stayed at the beacon.

This hotel is old but in really good condition. It provided free water and coffee, clean rooms, and friendly staff. It is located downtown, which means that all tourist attractions are pretty close. Check-in and check-out were super fast. Additionally, they have a bar and grill, where the food is amazing.

In the bathroom, there is not enough space for personal items, like cosmetics, or where to put clothes while showering. Also, my husband needed a fridge that we didn't have in the room, but I was ok with it.

The room was nice and simple! Had everything we needed. The location of our room was phenomenal, we were on the sixth floor and we faced the main road (I believe it was Washington Ave? Something historical lol). Some traffic heard, but not too much, the occasional beeps of traffic (I live in CT/NYC and traffic is normal and these are sounds you hear frequently. Before someone complains about noise level, ask if they're from middle of nowhere midwest). The house keeping people were great. Front desk staff was amazing. Jayce if you're reading this (or anyone from the hotel) you were amazing and made really great conversation and was super sweet and friendly (thanks for helping me pick the barbecue chips). All in all, definitely a wonderful place to stay and would definitely stay here again!

There isn't much that I didn't like about this stay. There were mainly two things, and they weren't even that big. I also didn't mention ANYTHING to the staff, so they wouldn't have had any idea about this what-so-ever, shame on me. But if you're staying in room 603, the door to the bathroom doesn't lock, which is actually totally fine, because if the bathroom door is closed assume someone is in there and don't go in??? And the second thing that wasn't so great is that the toilet didn't flush? And when it did it flushed weird. Like the water would only go down halfway, and then it would come back up? It was as if it was clogged. But then other times it worked. But like I said, I'm pretty sure the hotel staff would've been on top of this had they known, but I said mum.
