With this property located on the campus of the university, it was a little oasis in the middle of the city. The property was generally quiet; we didn't see many other guests, no crowds.
There was only one way in and out of the campus, which was good for security but made walking to nearby restaurants longer. But overall, it was fine.

The hotel is located inside the school, making it relatively quiet, without any car noise or other disturbances.
1. The room isn't well soundproofed. At night, I can clearly hear music and even conversations from the next room. 2.Parking is inconvenient. It costs $40 per day to park at the school, and if I park outside, I have to walk a long way back. 3.They charged a $50 deposit per night. I stayed for three nights, and now it's been two days since I checked out, but I've only received a $50 refund. I don’t understand why there's still $118 missing from my deposit.

Beautiful location. Good food right outside of the hotel.
$50 parking fee and a bit far from the dc attractions to walk. Shuttle was there but we couldn’t figure out where to find it at union station.

The front desk staff were all very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We had requested a room with 2 queens but were given a king suite. We appreciated the gesture, but would have slept better if we had the two beds. And yes, we could have requested a change but became too busy to follow through. We appreciated the treats in the concierge lounge. The campus shuttle bus to Union Station was very, very helpful and convenient. We were a short walk away from NoMa metro station and from the family-friendly and lively Union and Latin Markets for places to eat and shop. Trader Joe's and a dry cleaning and laundry business were used during our stay. We felt very safe in this area as well.
We love fresh air but our many windows in the room did not open. We felt the breakfast offered was over priced for the items offered.

Room: I checked in around 6 PM, and the front desk staff was wonderful. Although my request for a room with a handheld showerhead wasn’t available at the time, the staff made a genuine effort to assist in fulfilling my needs, and I truly appreciate their help. Breakfast: I encountered a few billing issues with my breakfast charge, but the morning front desk staff was very proactive in addressing the situation. She reassured me that it would be passed on to the Food and Beverage Manager and even provided me with the manager’s business card for follow-up after my departure. Thank you to both staff members for their exceptional service!
Breakfast Billing: My breakfast billing experience wasn’t ideal. I was initially informed that a technical issue would cause the charge to appear twice in my bank records, but that it would clear within 48-72 hours, which I understood. However, when I checked the records, I noticed three entries: one without the tip amount and two with incorrect tip amounts. The front desk staff was very helpful and explained that the Food and Beverage Manager was in a meeting. She collected my receipts and all relevant information to pass on to the manager. While the entries were eventually corrected to show only one, the transaction amount on my bank record remains inaccurate, still showing an extra charge. Thank you to the front desk staff for their assistance in handling the situation.

Extremely friendly staff from the reception to the dining room able to communicate with everyone regardless to whether guests are deaf or not. Regular free shuttle bus service to and from Union Rail Station for exploring local sights. A huge selection of eateries for lunch or evening meal, offering at various prices in the popular Union Square in the very close proximity. A high standard of cleanliness evident throughout the hotel.
The bed mattresses are very thick and soft soft making it difficult for us to bet on bed but well ...

Breakfast was delicious! I wanted to check in earlier as we arrived into town early morning but it was not possibly however they did let us check in a couple hours before the scheduled check in time which I appreciated so we can rest. I admired the extra seating area around the hotel (several areas throughout the hotel lobby, the front and the back patio.) I was able to relax at the end of the day and just rest under the full moon which I appreciated so much. The room was quiet. They were also repainting in the middle of the night which I found interesting.
One issue I did find was access to and from Union Market. I did not realize I needed a gate key until we were at the gate and another guest showed me the key. I got one the next day for when we return later. I went to Union Market on Memorial Day and to my shock it was closed and we needed a gate key to get out and to return. When I mentioned it to the front desk, the person said I’m sorry. We stood out there for about 10 mins in the hot sun and humidity before we could enter back in to get our things and check out. Price was a little out of my league but glad there’s a monthly option!

Everything. I arrived at the hotel 2 hours before check in and the staff had my room ready. Everyone here is super nice. The Bistro was amazing. There's a free shuttle to and from Union Station. https://unionmarketdc.com/the-market/ is about 3 block walk from hotel. Stop at the desk and ask for a gate pass. There are so many places to eat there.
This is just nit picking, but the vending machines are expensive. Took a bit for the hot water to heat, but again this doesn't affect my positive thoughts about this WONDERFUL hotel.

The hotel provides fruit water on the ground floor free of charge. It was very refreshing after a long day of walking. The location is convenient to reach downtown and Union Station via Metro. The surrounding area felt residential, safe, and quiet. It has great access to restaurants and food courts.
The guests in the room next to us were going in and out of their room at night and we could hear the noise quite clearly. The room was not so soundproof. Perhaps the staff could have put us on a different floor or room as there were not many guests staying around that time.

I enjoyed the ease of getting extra items in the lobby that could be applied to my tab. I also liked having bi lingual options-I’m hard of hearing and I noticed many could sign! While I don’t depend on signing, it was a peace of mind for the future.
I thought I would have daily maid service but only noticed the back of the Do Not Disturb sign was to be used if I wanted maid service. Typically, maid service is expected unless directly told no service with a sign—not a sign For Service and a sign for No Service.
