The staff were very friendly and really helpful with suggestions and maps. The beds and facilities were amazing and the location was excellent ~so close to Union Station and the circulator buses. We could walk easily to the Capitol and Supreme Court and Postal Museum etc and walk 5 minutes to the start of the mall circulator. There was free coffee and all manner of hot drinks available 24/7 via a machine. It was delicious. The Dubliner Pub attached also had ala carte for all meals of the day. It was also frequented by locals in the evening, so it was a good idea to check the menu before hand so that you knew what to order as the staff were very, very busy. The breakfast menu was good but you had to be patient and allow time for your order as everyone including the kitchen seemed to be flat out! It was always full for all meals every day we were there, and then there was the bar too. It was so good not to have to go out for a drink after a full day's sightseeing!

Luggage racks were missing and all rooms were not as spacious as those in the corner rooms, which we had for the second visit. The first room at the rear of the building was quite small. We don't spend a lot of time in our rooms, so it didn't impact us too much but the lack of lugguage racks was a problem. The airconditioning was very loud as might distrub the sleep if you were a light sleeper. However, it didn't bother us at all.

The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable, check in and check out was smooth. The room was well stocked and very clean. The 24 hour coffee/hot beverage station was very much appreciated. The location was great (we did not rent a car for our stay) and was very close to the metro, trains, buses and the circulator and walking distance to major sites. We will definitely stay there again next time we are in DC. The staff really shone.

The only suggestion that would have made the stay slightly better was improved black out curtains. This was very minor and did not diminish from our stay.

The hotel is less than 5-minute walk from The Postal Museum and the Union Station. The no-cost self-serve laundry is a plus. The hotel smells clean without the smell of the air freshener or bleach. The employees are courteous and pleasant. The coffee lounge on the second floor is nice. The small touches such as the water dispenser and microwave on the second floor give great comfort.

This is not a negative thing. It can be an improvement. I came to the second floor for some chocolate drink but both machines were being cleaned. I was happy to see the employee was doing a very thorough job cleaning both of them. I think it is more efficient to clean both at the same time but I was wishing one machine was being cleaned while the other one working so the guests could get a drink other than tea without having to wait or return.

The staff really make this hotel! The people on reception (every shift) and the doormen (also every shift) are so lovely. They were falling all over themselves to be helpful and friendly. I can't praise them enough. The room was great. Nicely furnished and decorated with a big TV and a good shower. The bed was basically the lap of luxury. Such a relief to sink into it after a long day of walking. The location was ideal - 3 minutes from Union Station/Metro, 10 minutes' walk from the Capitol. There are lots of good restaurants within 10/12 minutes' walk as well. And if you want a really good coffee close by then go to The Blue Bottle in Union Station. Oh, and did I mention how great the staff were?

Location was great, Circulator bus stop was almost outside the hotel, and for $1 you could ride down or back from the Lincoln Memorial. Union Station is close to the hotel, therefore access to the Metro is excellent. Room was nice and very clean, with comfortable beds. Wi-Fi was free as well as tea, coffee etc.

Location was great, albeit a bit noisy at night, with police and ambulance sirens, The people that hang around the Union Station vicinity at night were loud at times, however i never felt unsafe, even walking from the station with my luggage at night.

This hotel’s location is what makes investing in a room here worth it! It’s within a walkable distance to many things if you’re in the mood to get some steps in! The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the hotel smells great! It was nice stepping into the corridor, or visiting the second floor for hot coffee, and being greeted with a pleasant smell of “freshness” from the air freshener the hotel uses. The hotel has an Irish pub, we didn’t eat there but we went in for some quick drinks, and the service was fast and friendly! They have live music (Irish Folklore), but it’s not a place to stay for long, if you’re looking for diversity. It wasn’t particularly my “vibe,” but it was charming.

The noise that can be heard here (early mornings) is unbearable! The cleaning staff are in and out of rooms, *allowing the doors to slam, running the vacuum into the baseboards (floor still had trash on it in some areas), etc. Also, this hotel is downtown, so the noise outside was to be expected, but still very loud. BRING EAR PLUGS!!!! The rooms were decent, nothing nasty, but could use a bit more attention to detail - a more thorough cleaning. I could see other people’s hair on the floor in my bathroom. And our duvet and a few of the pillow cases had questionable stains on them. The bedding “smelled cleaned,” but stains never leave a good impression.

I had a bad day before arriving in DC by train and I was looking forward to staying over night at the Phoenix Park hotel based upon what I heard. The moment I arrived I felt instant relief from professionalism and courtesy of the young female staff. They made me feel so welcomed and I was only there for one-night. I will definitely book them again but for a longer stay next time. If I felt this good after one night stay, imagine how I would feel if I stayed multiple nights at this incredible hotel! Thank you for making my stay a memorable one.

I didn't like the view from my room but that was a minimal dislike because the majority of the time there was enjoyable.

There were 4 of us and had 2 different rooms. One room was absolutely spectacular! Very large, great view, good sized bathroom with large counter space. The other room was very nice as well, but much smaller without a view, bathroom was much smaller and had no counter to use. Two of us came last year, and the smaller room is the one we had last year, so we were very excited to see the larger room. Both rooms were clean, had mini-fridges, ironing board with iron, two comfortable queen sized beds, and tv's. The hotel is in a great location right near the train station and the Capital Building, and the Mall.

It would be nice to have some breakfast items on Floor 2 with the coffee and tea, even prewrapped baked goods, and/or fruit. But having been here before, we brought our own breakfast items and enjoyed the space on Floor 2. Also, we would have liked to have a bathmat in the shower for slipping. We had to leave a hand towel on the shower floor to avoid falling.

The hotel is convenient and close to the Metro. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower was nice, clean and plenty of hot water.

The toilet in our room needed to be secured to the floor. It rocked back and forth when getting up. We only had one wash cloth in our room and we requested more when we came back for the night and we were told security would bring some up. After waiting over an hour I called down and told them that we were going to bed. Check out time for the hotel is noon. The next morning the housekeeper tried to come into the room around 9 a.m. Then the housekeeper tried to come into the room again at 10:45 a.m. I told her we would be out by noon. She actually came back again and tried opening the door at 11:15 a.m. and when the door wouldn't open she rudely asked if we were checking out today. If they want people to check out earlier than noon they should change the check out time.

The location is excellent especially is you are traveling with out a vehicle. We flew in and took the metro from the airport to Union Station, which is almost directly across the street. The hotel is in walking distance of the Capital building and the National Mall, however you can also take the metro the Mall station. The hotel was lovely, it is in an older building which has a lot of charm to it. It is a little expensive but for us the convenience was key, plus it was a vacation get away. We did eat the the Dubliner twice for dinner. The food was good, but I am not that into Irish food so it was not my favorite but definitely convenient at the end of a long day walking around the city. A block or so over is a liquor store where you can purchase wine ect. There is also a corner bakery a few doors down that had a good breakfast. The staff here was very helpful and kind. We don't have our rooms cleaned while we are staying somewhere so I can't comment on that but the hotel over all was very well take care of. The coffee bar on the second floor was wonderful.

We have no complaints.
