pool was available when we got there

on Saturday morning the kids wanted to swim while we were still relaxing pool closed for maintenance

Reviews on this location were pretty accurate. This is a large property obviously built for grander times with conferences and big events in mind. Not sure what led to the decline of the big plans, but didn't look like too many of the meeting rooms, ball rooms, fancy gathering areas were still in use. That said, the price was right, the location was convenient to I-85 & the Durham Freeway and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a king room which was very spacious with a nice bed. The AC, TV, & WiFi worked well. The bathroom was spacious with an extra sink area--water pressure in the shower was great. All was nice and clean. If you're looking for fancy this might not be the place for you as some of the wooden furniture in the room and woodwork in the hallways was showing wear. All said and done, for the price we paid on a busy university weekend I'd stay there again as it was clean and comfortable.

The iron in our room didn't work and the fellow at the desk seemed unconcerned about it.

The staff was kind. I made a reservation for a room with 2 beds. When I checked in, initially, I was given a room with only 1 bed, so I had to change rooms. Other than the initial mixup, everything else was pretty good. Upon notifying the staff, the were pleasant and made the correction immediately.

It would have been nice for the stay to have included a continental breakfast or complimentary brunch, but for the price, I won't complain. I wasn't crazy about the $100 deposit for room damages & even more disappointed that the return of the deposit isn't immediate.

Great location. The staff was very friendly and the accommodations were nice. The hotel met our needs as we were staying for one night on our way through town. I would recommend the hotel to other travelers.

We were charged $100 dollars for our pet. This was not clear during the booking process on Booking.com nor through the hotel check-in process. This was very disappointing during check-in and not 100% honest during the booking process.

For the price this place is just as nice as a Holiday Express or Hilton DoubleTree maybe even the Hyatt but have the cost the rooms are huge the beds of the most comfortable beds I ever slept in.

I didn't like that the pool was closed due to maintenance and was opening right towards the end of my stay. The bathrooms are very nice but the shower can be update they really weren't big enough for me and my wife that's my favorite part of my vacation.

Modern, convenient to my Duke venus, highways. The Front Desk Staff was excellent, very patient when they had several guests in line waiting, did acknowledge they saw me, And all were very pleasant to me and other guests. Parking was clise, well lit ( importantvto be as I am usualky leaving for the airport at 3:30a. Due to multiple outfit changes Inhad to make daiky during my stay, I left room keycards in room several times-the Front Desk was always pleasant when i needdd ke-keying

On arrival in room, a sock from the prior guest was missed by Housekeeping-i returned it to the Front Desk. While in the jacuzxi, the center bottom ? filter/ plate cover was not secure, dislodged as I walked across the jacuzzi.

The atmosphere was wonderful. It made us feel like we were celebrities.

The hot tub wasn't operational. Maybe it was the off-season but it was disappointing. I don't think of this as a fault in the hotel, and more of a fault in our timing. Maybe though, guests could be told what amenities are operational and why. That way it's not a shock when guests see the empty restaurants and hot tubs.

The bed was comfortable. The room appeared to be clean.

mini frigerator didn't work There was no microwave in the room but one outside the bedroom down the hallway for everyone to share. On the third floor there was no ice machine on the third floor.

Good location and the cleanliness

The staff was okay…doing their jobs, they were not professional enough. I arrived on Xmas Eve (Friday) asking about the shuttle to go to the airport the next day (Sat). The woman staff said I can reserve the shuttle time when I check out. And the guy staff told me about the time of the shuttle which is every half hour. So, the next morning (Sat),I did what they told me. But the same guy staff said they don’t run shuttle on the weekends. I wasn’t happy about that. It wasn’t because I didn’t get the shuttle. But it is obviously, they didn’t listen to what I said or just didn’t pay attention.
