The Guesthouse is delightful, with beautiful views. We received a very warm welcome from the staff. Our room was lovely, particularly the bathroom which was supplied with very nice toiletries. We enjoyed a delicious antipasti platter and cheeseboard in the evening. The complimentary wine-tasting was a great bonus! Breakfast was excellent. Overall, we felt that the Guesthouse provided great value for money compared with other places we have stayed. Would definitely recommend!
Unfortunately, the Guesthouse does not serve dinner on Mondays, which was disappointing, but we knew that soon after we booked it and decided to go anyway. However, a limited Light Bites menu is available and what we had was beautifully presented and delicious.

The original home is wonderful - it was such a pleasure to stay in this big fabulous old house, which is full of character and nooks that perfectly capture sunbeams to soak up on a cool morning. We loved the architecture, heated bathroom floors, high ceilings and cosy rooms. The beds and pillows were comfortable, we slept so well here. Basic toiletries and tea are also provided. The house is available to host weddings, so the common areas are reconfigured daily to meet the needs of the guests. We thought this flexible approach to service and hospitality enabled a much better experience for everyone, and the staff did it seemingly without effort. We attended a small family wedding, with half the guests staying on site (full house), and half in properties nearby. Everything was organised smoothly, and all guests were catered for breakfast during the 2-night package, in addition to the wedding and reception, which meant everyone was able to meet or catch up on the day before and after the nuptials. The venue felt like a big warm family home where everyone was welcome and had a place. The staff are the stars at Petersons - during our stay they worked tirelessly and discreetly to keep the guests happy with every request. The wedding catering was basic but enough, really good quality and tasty. The standard dinner menu (outside of the wedding package) was superb, and wine options pair well with all courses. The cellar door on site is either an added bonus or a focal point depending on the reason for your stay. Either way, it ensures guests have access to a range of good quality wines from the three wineries owned by this enterprise. I will happily share the recommendation to stay at Petersons Winery. This is a great spot if you want a quiet few days in relaxing and beautiful surrounds.
my single criticism is the lack of good coffee... drip, plunge, pod options were all very weak and watery. A real espresso would add a much bigger smile to my experience.

The place looked amazing and was clean and tidy and staff friendly. The food served was delicious especially the breakfast which was included in the price. I liked the large fireplace in the lounge room near the kitchen where it was great to sit in the evening.
The small electric heater in the room was wholly inadequate; consequently, the room was quite cold and therefore uncomfortable during the evening. On one of the nights my partner and I had to actually climb into bed early which thankfully had an electric blanket just to stay warm. It's possible that if we had let staff know they may have been able to let us have another heater, but it was just one of those things that happens, and we didn't bother to take it any further.

The Guesthouse is one of our favourites. The open fireplaces for winter are so welcoming and very relaxing. You have the opportunity to sit and relax or chat with other guests. There are 2 fireplaces in the loungeroom so plenty of room for all to enjoy. The Guesthouse is a little out of town, but we find it is not an issue. The heated floor in the bathroom is so comforting in winter. There are plenty of heaters in the rooms and even electric blankets for those who feel the cold.
The road leading up to the Guesthouse has many potholes so perhaps these could be repaired as it is very difficult to miss these particularly at night.

Lovely Edwardian property, big rooms, large bathroom lovely ambience and communal lounge, veranda and outside dining area. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and helpful. Easy to find and plenty of parking - highly recommend this place.
We arrived on a Monday and it transpired that this was the chefs day off so no diner available in the restaurant. We really wanted to immerse ourselves in the pleasant surroundings of the property so didn’t want to go out by car to find a restaurant- the member of staff on duty could not have been more helpful and provided soup, antipasto and a cheese board as well as deserts to make a very enjoyable evening meal for us complete with local wine - this was excellent service

We loved our stay at Peterson’s. From the moment we arrived we had exceptional service from the staff. We chose to dine in the in house restaurant and was not disappointed. The included breakfast was also very generous and delicious. The two meals were in two different dining rooms and both had lovely ambience. We left very relaxed, with a complimentary bottle of wine and would highly recommend others to stay.
Nothing. We would have loved to stay two nights but it was booked out for a wedding.

We had both evening meal and a breakfast, both very good. Loved the historic building, with the magnificent hall. Great to have a fridge in the room, as were travelling, and have our own food needing a fridge. Also had a small freezer.
The seating in our room. There were two dining chairs and small table. Would have loved an armchair. We did sit in the hall in the afternoon, but watching TV on an upright chair, is not good. There was enough room for two small armchairs.

The Staff were Amazing, from the welcome at the door to the goodbyes on leaving ,the food was very good and the open fire in the dining room was just what we needed as it was very cold, The veranda was a nice place to enjoy our wine and cheese platter in the sun, for our 2 night stay, close drive to Armidale for a walk, and close to visit the the near by water falls. The big hall as it is called was just what we needed 2 open fireplaces, lots of seating to sit enjoy a wine and chat with other guests if you wished to, or just to sit and read. Only 7 accommodating rooms in all , in this charmer of a house, so relaxing. we would recommend a stay and we will return again, would love to see the beautiful gardens in full bloom.

The food was great and of good quality. The breakfast which was hot was much appreciated as opposed to cereals and bread. My partner and I really liked staying at this place - out in the country but not too far from country Armidale. Inside the facility we loved being able to sit in the lounge area on comfortable chairs in front of a large open fireplace. As the kitchen was just in the next room the smell of food being cooked was sensually stimulating.
A small thing but two mornings in a row they seemed to burn my toast or perhaps I should have said to them that I preferred it lightly done but other than that I had no issues with the food.

Lovely historic homestead with large rooms and lovely restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Staff were lovely but you had to ring for them. Nicely furnished. Electric blankets on the bed.
Couldn't unpack the car from under the portico when it was cold and raining. We had to bring them in from the car park which was down a long footpath. Coffee and tea making in the room should have a separate table, not on the fridge.
