I was greeted by lovely welcoming staff, who had us in our room quickly. The room was clean and comfortable with not a couch and table and chairs. Parking directly outside the room was also helpful. We were pleasantly surprised that while out the bed during the day was made (found the door sign after the event)…a very pleasing added extra. Lovely electric blankets assisted with the chilly nights and were easy to use. Lots of power points were helpful.

The bed was a little too soft, and would recommend taking own pillows as they are on the soft side also, but that is probably to individual taste. The bathroom is compact but well resourced.

Our 2 bedroom apartment was actually a fully renovated cottage directly opposite the motel. The modern upgrades have been very tastefully done, including brand new kitchen and bathroom, all with modern kitchen and laundry appliances. And of course the WiFi and whole-of-house ducted A/C were both really useful during our stay. Very spacious for family of four, and spotlessly clean.

The only downside was that the onsite restaurant, which we heard was excellent, was unexpectedly closed during our stay, but this was not published when we made our booking. The onsite manager said they did try to inform all of the websites about the restaurant closure, but not all of the sites put this info up on the pages.

If I could give a ten star rating I would. I stayed in the Classic Queen studio which had plenty of room for myself (2 people would also have enough space). The room was exceptionally clean and well set out. It had a Queen size Bed which was very comfortable with a small fridge, microwave, coffee/tea making facilities, Smart TV, iron and ironing board a small sofa and dining table. The bathroom is also well designed and the water pressure and hot water was great. The staff were all lovely and accommodating. They have an amazing restaurant and bar and the food was delicious. You can also order room service for Dinner from the restaurant. They have available a breakfast pack and or a lunch pack available for your room via a pre order form for a very reasonable price. Although they were fully booked I heard no noise from my room. I certainly will be staying here again in the future. If you're visiting Lithgow I would highly recommend this lovely very well run Motel. They have a range of accommodations available. It also has ample free parking.

Great location for our purposes. Room was clean and the microwave was a great inclusion. Restaurant was good but not very accomodating for those with food allergies, I was told there were no changes to meals on the menu. I had to have mashed potatoes even though I knew the lactose would upset my stomach, and as the food was stacked on top of the potatoes I couldn’t easily push it aside and not eat it.

The bunk beds in the second bedroom have seen better days, they need to be replaced. Lack of flexibility with changing elements on the menu in the restaurant.

Everything was to a reasonable standard with a comfortable bed and all facilities to a good standard. Apartment was clean and there were good cooking facilities.

My only adverse comment was that the apartment was located away from the main hotel. I was originally going to walk there from station but did get a lift. If not I would have had to walk 1.7 miles . As it turned out this made it closer to the person I was visiting and was within a short walk. It would have been great to have been aware of this. Otherwise 100% happy and would recommend.

The hotel was clean and reception staff nice. Room had everything you need for a night away. Food in the restaurant was great, the bar tender was lovely and kindly made me a drink from an old menu that i had seen online.

Restaurant staff were very slow and was hard to tell if it was easier to use the QR code or talk to a server. Breakfast is a weird setup and would much prefer if they did a la carte from the restaurant. If the night food is anything to go by they could definitely do a better breakfast.

The room was comfortable, warm and spacious, and I found the staff very friendly and helpful. I ate three times in the restaurant and the food was good. If I need to return to Lithgow for work, I would stay at the Zig Zag again. Many thanks.

I alerted the staff to two issues during my stay in Room 43: 1. there was a small leak in the toilet cistern which made the bathroom floor wet in the mornings. 2. I had trouble with the television reception 3 nights out of 6, with the picture breaking up badly, and I couldn't find an ABC channel which I would have liked (not all of us want to watch Sky News!) Finally, staying for a week as I did, I would have appreciated a few more simple kitchen items to go with the microwave, such as a plate, cutlery, salt and pepper.

the location was great, out of the heart of town, with a great view of the hills The room was spacious, bed and couch were comfortable. spa was great for winter as it is a very cold area, nice to relax in after a day on the trails The staff were great I liked that there was a restaurant on site and breakfast and lunch hampers were available.

i was disappointed that the heated outdoor pool was closed, but as it was so cold, i probably wouldn't have actually used it. The corner spa in our room was small, definitely could not fit two people, which was a shame, but it worked great.

It was close to everything we planned, easy access, clean and the reception staff member was very accommodating and helpful. The rooms were a good size. We didn't get rooms close to each other but the rooms aren't that far apart so that was good. The rooms had everything you need, bar fridge, microwave, kettle, hair dryer, a sofa, and a lot of space to put things. Plenty of power points to plug in your adaptors, which was good because other places I've stayed you don't get this. There was a table which we were able to move around so we could play games. Previously at other places we had to sit on the bed which was hard sometimes when you have a big group.

No cons about the hotel. Just had a bit of a issue with parking. People were parking in other hotel guests room car spaces. At arrival we had to help get it sorted so everyone was parked where they should be. If there is someone parked in your space just let the reception know. They have rego details of the other hotel guests and can contact them to move their car to the right space. Instead of someone arriving to their room and finding their space is taken. The spaces are designated to that room and makes it easier for hotel guests to unload and load luggage.

Rooms were spacious and kept very clean Great parking, so many places you need to shoe horn your car into a space made for bicycle, these were good sized spaces and right in front of your motel room. Pool, too cold for a dip on this trip. but the pool and area around it was maintained lovely and when we come back in warmer weather will certainly take the plunge Location was pretty good with walk into town a reasonable 10 - 15 mins away (2 min by car)

Having to collect crockery and cutlery from reception a pain in the butt, but reception team friendly when asked. It was just frustrating at 6am when wanting my cornflakes ;-) Putting a fridge, kettle and microwave in the room but no toaster also a pain. Our room overlooked a derelict carpet warehouse, planting a few bushes would easily mask that
