The location is excellent, we couldn't have planned a better place to stay. Everything we needed was either a short walk or trip in the car. AAA+++

Like most Motels, the 1 thing that determines whether you have a great stay or not is the Bed. It doesn't matter what other facilities are at the motel or whether the restaurant served the best meals, if the bed is uncomfortable and you don't get a good sleep it ruins your stay. That's the first thing you'd repeat to others wanting to stay.

Check in was quick , professional and welcoming. I had requested a ground floor room which was provided. The room was very clean and comfortable. Parking available outside our room. It had a well stocked mini bar available in the room. .

I don’t really have any negatives. The restaurant was closed but I had received notification of that before we arrived.

We had the entire apartment above reception which looked as though it'd been recently going through some work. It was a beautiful open space with two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, and bathroom. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need to cook for ourselves, and the living room couches were very comfy recliners so we spent a lot of time on them relaxing.

Not much could've improved our stay - it was one of the best places we stayed on our roadtrip overall.

Providing full cutlery in rooms not just a knife and teaspoon, Lights above bed were dirty as was blind in bathroom, and some mould on shower glass next to toilet

Great location minutes from the town centre. Easy to get to. Rooms are always clean and smell lovely. TV's are a good size and offer all streaming services. Food delivery available and buffet breakfast in the mornings are great.

Not a thing! Everything was great!

Loved that there was a courtyard setting and that you could have fresh air. Easy access. Bed was super comfortable.

There was only butter knives and teaspoons some more basic cutlery and bowls would have been preferred as not everyone eats out.

Sadly I was there overnight only and therefore not able to enjoy the facilities - pool, garden with barbeque. The restaurant was not open for breakfast nor dinner - a pity.

An open restaurant

We have stayed 3 times at Macquarie Barracks as a stopover on our trips to Sydney . This time we stayed 4 nights and got to enjoy the amazing beaches, and restaurants at Port Macquarie. The Motel is very clean and comfortable . We relaxed in the pool . It has everything we needed and is very economical. Staff are very obliging .

Could probably have a few more seats around the pool area

Really good location, paid extra for the Spa room & the Spa & shower/bathroom was huge!!!! All in all a really good setup as it was in a separate section to the other rooms, even had a small courtyard out the back.

Not the hotel's fault but the people next to us couldn't park straight to save themselves.

Staff were excellent, room was terrific, cleanliness was wonderful, bed was very comfortable. We used the Barracks as our stopover so that we could go to the Whalebone Restaurant for lunch, as we come from 150+ kms from Port Macquarie. will definitely stay there again.
