Its location and room size

There were three of us my husband and I and our 39 year old daughter, we booked it because it had a separate sleeping area for our daughter, which was a roll away bed or sofa bed. When we got to the room there was really room for a roll away bed so we assumed we were using the sofa bed. There were only two towels so we had to ask for another towel. We went out had a look at shops and had dinner then went back to our room, watched tv and decide to get the sofa bed set up, it was not made up, no sheets or pillows. It was 11.30 pm so she just slept on it as it was, luckily there were spare pillows on our bed

The close proximity to the Sydney CBD area made it incredibly accessible to the rest of the city. I would recommend it to those who are not the best with directions as it is a good central location to get to various tourist places (Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach etc). The staff were very helpful towards us upon checking into our room and were informative and patient with our questions and concerns, the room service was also timely and efficient, the concierge had no trouble communicating with us in regards to our luggage.

Occasionally when we would be sitting in our hotel room, the electricity would go out abruptly which scared us at first and we thought it was a one off thing but it would happen from time to time. Our fire alarm went off without notice but the front office was quick to be alerted about this and attended to the matter as soon as they can. The innkeepers would be inconsistent with restocking the amenities as one occasion they provided us with three towels and another time only two towels. We had issues using the laundry machines as it would not display the option for us to pay or it would charge double the original amount due to an error, we were refunded upon speaking to the front office about the issue but the machine itself didn’t get fixed next time we tried to use it.

We booked 13 rooms with different configurations & all included breakfast for our Golden Anniversary celebration. The celebration was at the main restaurant " AMBER" restaurant, catering to 63 adults &10 children. The Hotel event coordinator was Ms Charlotte who did a fantastic job. Ms Charlotte was able to ensure all our needs were met beyond our expectation. All the guests advised that the buffet was exceptional and one of the best buffets they had.. The tables were decorated elegantly. The cost of the function was very reasonable. The services provided at reservation and at the function were excellent I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to hold a function at this hotel. We would not hesitate to hold another function at this hotel. Regards Simon

No complaints.

Fantastic location. Close to a lot of restaurants, cafes, etc

The staff was rude at the check-in because they couldn't find the second room and they wanted us to pay a higher rate for that room. We booked two rooms though booking.com but they were insisting the second room was booked at another rate because of the school holidays (?) They insisted I needed to contact booking.com even though I showed them the confirmation email and the rates I secured in both rooms. They refused to allow me to pay with my phone as they wanted a physical credit card. And even after giving them my physical card to "secure" the deposit they didn't allow me to pay with my phone. Eventually everything was sorted but the front desk staff attitude was not friendly.

The buffet breakfast was amazing . Great location , easy walk to circular quay and other city attractions

Disappointed in housekeeping . They threw out our bag of groceries we had purchased the night before which was disappointing that they even removed it in the first place . It wasn’t in the garbage bin so it shouldn’t have been taken from the room . We saw reception and were given a $20 drinks voucher which was nice if them but housekeeping were adamant they don’t throw anything out that’s not in the black bins in the room but they clearly did in our room .

I cant even express my gratitude for the staff at Rydges World Square. I dont usually book at a chain hotel but I have been shown a new level of standard for my Sydney travels. From my immediate arrival the concierge presented at high standard service and throughout my 2 days continued to assist me with options for everything I needed. The admin staff at checkin were also very accommodating and helpful. The room was exceptionally clean, and in homelike feels. I will definitely be returning next time in Sydney, and for the location to be central to EVERYTHING! You cant go wrong. Thank you for bringing a welcoming and pleasant stay to my weekend away.

Nothing! It was perfect.

On arrival we were greeted by a Vietnamese male that evening, he was an absolute gem! Personalised our experience by acknowledging my fiancé’s pounamu, and culture. Then the conversation just flowed, working in hospitality these type of interactions with your guest are always a great impression! Acknowledging your guest and personalising their experience by conversing about similarities etc Buffet breakfast was great too! Location is perfect and bed was like a floating cloud after a long holiday of activities and travelling, coming back home to Australia this was definitely what we needed before heading back into reality

Parking was a little complicated for those who aren’t sure of the city as Sydney’s really busy, however the concierge at the front of the entrance was so helpful! He gave us a thoroughly instructed form of where to locate and which floor etc

Great facilities and cosy place. We had three people in a room and they have provided us with an extra bed as the king sized bed was for two people only. They had everything in the room. Breakfast was included and the quality of food was just amazing. Besides what they normally have, pastries, noodles and meat buns were available!

More numbers of towels would be appreciated. View was blocked and the building was surrounded by other buildings so felt abit confined to the place. Also it would be better if they control people near the entrance who blocks the way by smoking.

I liked my stay. The room was spacious, well-decorated, and had a welcoming atmosphere that made me feel comfortable. The shower was fantastic, with excellent water pressure and just the right temperature, providing a refreshing start to the day. The bed was incredibly comfortable, offering a perfect balance of softness and support, ensuring I got a great night's sleep.

The noise outside was absolutely unbearable, making it difficult to relax or get any rest. I was really disappointed because, given the quality of the hotel, I expected the room to be soundproof. Instead, I could hear everything from passing traffic to loud conversations on the street, which was not only disruptive but also frustrating, especially during the night.

Liked that we were able to book in so late and at a very reasonable price; the reason for the late booking was due to a very poor experience at another hotel. So poor were the conditions, we had to find something quickly, and vacate a place we had already paid for. The condition of our room at Rydges was spectacular, compared to what we encountered early that night.

There was nothing we didn't like. We very much enjoyed our short stay, and the facilities available to us.
