Reef Gateway Apartment is always a home away from home for me and my family. The green environment, hospitality and location from the hospital has been very much appreciated by me and my family. My dad was medivac to Cairns hospital last September and after he got discharged from the hospital, my mum managed to find accommodation for them both at Reef Gateway, which was literally a minute away from the hospital and very conveniently located. Apartment 4 at Reef Gateway will always be special to my family, and it brings many emotional memories for me, having dad there after being discharged from the hospital. Royce and the team were fantastic in taking care of my parents and us, making sure we were comfortable and felt right at home. The extra little details and touch, such a providing Moccona coffee; medium roast blend, my mum's favorite coffee blend, and even adding a rice cooker. It's the little things that have the biggest impact and is felt and appreciated. Come January 2024, time for my dad's review and of course we booked for Apartment 4 at Reef Gateway. As always, Royce was ever welcoming, ever smiling, and always going out of his way to make us feel at home. Royce has become like family to us, him and the team are always greeting us with a smile to make us feel comfortable and attend to our requests. The bed and lounge was comfortable and the unit was nice and bright and airy. It was well appointed with everything you need. The tropical garden and pool were both lovely. The complimentary chips and chocolates were a nice touch. The secure parking was really good and easy to access. Checking in and out was really easy too. Good communication from the staff before and after the stay.

The art work and placement really not good, the fluoro in 2nd bedroom flickered and the dishwasher was full of clean dishes so i had to unpack it and it smelled unpleasant. The drawers and cupboard utensils were pretty disorganised. The back security screen is a little hard to close and lock.

The management and staff were welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. The kitchenette was very clean and had sufficient appliances although we ate out at night and didn’t cook. The apartment was quiet with lovely morning sun and very centrally located. A relaxing pool area with bbq facilities. Within walking distance to the two hospitals and restaurants and tourist precinct, no street noise. The area felt safe and people were friendly.

The screen door to the balcony was somewhat awkward to open. A coffee plunger would be good!

The property was gated and easy to access from the airport with taxis. We were able to walk to the shops and down the esplanade to the markets, lagoon and attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful with information on things to do, places to see and where to go for food and coffee. The unit was comfortable and affordable for our family holiday with views to the mountains from the balcony.

Our only recommendation would be perhaps an information guide in the rooms and perhaps access to recycling facilities but overall we were very satisfied with our stay

The apartment was clean , with comfortable beds and clean linen, well equipped kitchen and service was superb. The tranquillity of the gardens with a quiet relaxing atmosphere. Home away from home. We had stayed for 5 nights a week prior booked by a friend, so on our return journey that needed a sleepover, we had no hesitation booking into the same place. Royce and his team go above and beyond to assist. I'm definitely staying there again the next time I am in Cairns.

Royce the guys looking after the place is a true superstar, what a lovely bloke. Bit of a funny one for us as we landed in day before Cyclone Jasper, but Royce was great. Location was brilliant, facilities good, didn’t use the pool but it looked great

I love not being required to interact with anyone. It is simple, quick and easy to book, access and use the property. However in saying all that, communication is amazing as well! Any issues, questions, needs are all easily and quickly communicated and sorted. I genuinely love staying at this property when we stay in Cairns and I recommend it to my friends/family as well. It is clean and tidy. All amenities work. Pool is beautiful, gardens well kept. Great value for money for sure!

Decent sized apartment. Had everything supplied (sheets, towels, etc), as well as some little extras such as sone teabags and coffee. Beds were comfortable. It was clean and tidy. Washing machine provided. Good location, with no being too far from the town centre. Parking available on site. Swimming pool on site but didn't use.

To find that reception was closed upon arrival, despite being still afternoon and no message to find out how one is to get keys, etc (to find out by accident on another day, from manager that the message was sent to a wrong number). Plus to maybe mention to Booking.com and other sites that reception is closed at 2pm, not later. No dryer in apartment or washing line but at least there was a clothes airer provided.

Apartments were a good size, clean and in a good location. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool area and garden were lovely. It was generally good value for a family of 4 people with 2 teenagers.

Mattress on one side of queen bed was worn, did not provide support and sagged. It was unusually cold at night and there was only one blanket per bed which was not enough. The bar stools were too high for the kitchen bench. The outside of the building was being cleaned painted but unfortunately we were not notified. This started early in the morning and could be noisy. We were not able to sit on the balcony or leave any towels to dry.

Our 2 bedroom suite overlooked the road/hospital so it wasn't serene or romantic. Didn't bother me as my son and I were just just there for a night to be handy for the airport. Some other rooms overlook the garden/pool which would be nicer for a holiday or couples thing. Suite had good kitchen equipment/washing machine etc that we didn't use but would be great for longer stays. Handy for walks on the esplanade. Undercover off street parking was good.

Expensive for one night.. but it is a 2 bedroom well equipped suite so not outrageous. Had to prompt managers to get the gate code before we arrived.
