. Would have liked a separate shower rather than a shower over the bath. Also a kitchenette with crockery, cutlery and a microwave would have been good as well, but can't complain since I never requested these facilities . I also missed out on the $10 food and beverage voucher because I didn't read the smaller print and neglected to leave the door tag requesting this out.

View from balcony of oceanview was awesome. Close enough for a walk into town but far enough away from all the noise

Being a family of 4 with a teenager, had to share a bed with sibling. Would be nice if some rooms had a choice of queen bed & 2 single beds. Would also have been better if balcony was large enough for 2 chairs & table to sit out on & enjoy view.

Great location, super friendly staff from check-in to restaurant/bar to check-out. Well spaced room with balcony and good view. Very comfortable firm bed, large fridge. Happy hour at the bar with good selection. Great pool area although I was unlucky with cold weather in July.

The breakfast is good, but not outstanding. Very standard juices and cheapest bread. No outdoor furniture on the balcony. What am I supposed to do there? I want to sit outside!

The location to central Cairns is great! Very easy to get around. We had a double pram so that comes with all its own issues. The hotel was very easy to get to from the airport and was really cheap in a taxi ($25 AUD). Muddy's playground and cafe is a short 3 minute walk and is fantastic for little kids. Goose Cafe up the road in the opposite direction is the best coffee and breakfast in Cairns. we loved it!

The room was a little dated. Especially for the price we paid. Certainly appreciated all the staff and the facilities but our bathroom shower curtain looked old and tired. There was also two faulty power switches so we had to unplug the TV at night to charge our phones. Some of the lights in our room didn't work either, we assumed they must be on the same circuit as the power switches. These were minor issues and we dealt with them perfectly fine. When you break down a price though it was expensive not to have things in working order.

We booked for a twin bedroom and it was excellent. My husband is a bit fussy with beds because he will get a sore back if its not a comfy bed. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I think we were upgraded to a room with a sea view as well. We will definitely stay another Rydges hotel again.

I cant think of anything that I dont like. I think we got what we paid for the services they offer.

Staff were amazing from the first ‘hello’. From having the restaurant and bar, pool and towels and scooters to get everywhere! Everything was always nice and clean with the option to save money for not using house keeping! Once you have the continental breakfast, take the kids across the road to the playground and water park!

Concierge desk was never staffed to help book things advertised in the lobby.

Many rooms booked by my family and friends for my wedding held in one of the function rooms. Staff went absolutely above & beyond for all of us, any issues with room cleanliness &/or damage were dealt with in a prompt and friendly manner, rooms are spacious & comfortable. Older property but fantastic location and value for money. Restaurant & bar are top notch. Beautiful pool areas.

Only one elevator working which made for some long waits but they’re working to fix this.

Easy to get to destinations on foot. Enjoyed walking along the esplanade to and from the hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

It’s dated and needs a refresh of the rooms. The bar closed at 9 at night and we would have liked to have a drink or 2 when we returned from our evening meal as we were a large family.

Warm unit. Great shower pressure. Hot constant temperature. Friendly staff. View great. Very quiet Optimal room clean. I opted out. Got the $10 voucher reward each night to use in the restaurant. Saves power and water not replenishing towels every day.

Bed too soft. I need a firm mattress. Wifi signal strong but kept dropping out. Towels were poor quality worn Iron provided was not steam. I needed to press linen clothes for a function. The housekeeping did provide a steam iron after I requested it.

I loved my time at Rydges, the staff are exceptional very friendly and extremely helpful, the food at the restaurant was faultless to me, the pool facilities were clean and big enough for a great swim with towels provided...also a great gift shop on site where you can purchase essentials like milk, bottled water and biscuits without having to go out of the facility...rooms are a great size also with a couch and a separate table to eat at so you didnt feel like you were just in a small box like some hotels can make you feel like. The facility itself, all of the hallways and reception area etc were very well maintained and clean with great views of all of the city of Cairns. Keep up the great work Rydges staff you were all a pleasure to deal with!!

The only negative that I saw was that maybe the paintwork could do with a bit of freshening up and things provided like the kettle and iron weren't brand new but that did not detract from my stay at all. Everything else more than made up for this.
