Our room was perfect. It was clean, bedding and furnishing were in great condition. Bathroom fixtures were all new and the shower had nice water pressure. It was a great location to everything. The beach was just a quick stroll down the road. Awesome beach pools, massive one with diving boards and lots of room if you're a lap swimmer. The other pool is great for little ones. The Geelong Botanic Gardens is wonderful and it's not massive so you can fit in other adventures into your day if you don't have a lot of time. We also drove out to the Werribee Open Range Zoo. It's just under an hour to get there.

Unfortunately the mattress was too hard.

The room appears to be have been recently updated. It was also clean, tidy and quiet. House keeping staff kept it clean and tidy throughout the stay. Parking was easy and readily available. The location was within walking distance (about 10 minutes walk) to Eastern Beach, Geelong Botanic Garden and the city centre.

The motel took a $200 security deposit which was returned after the stay and also required credit card details as security for damage (if any) due to their previous experience with guests causing damage. Understandable but nevertheless caught off guard with the requests. There were no plates and cutlery (butter knife/spreader, spoons & forks) provided apart from tea cups, tea spoons, saucers and drink glasses.

The renovated rooms are extremely clean, spacious and the couch and bed were comfortable. We would say to anyone looking for a place to stay in Geelong, try this place out, this property is close to the waterfront, the owner is lovely, and she will do her best to make your stay great. If it is not in your room e.g. plates or cutlery and you need something, ask and if she has it, she will provide it!

The outside appearance and storage of old furniture, if we hadn't of booked on booking.com and seen the interior, if we were driving past looking for a room, we probably would have kept driving due to the exterior appearance of the place. We strongly recommend a makeover of the external to attract more drive by customers to come and stay! We are not trying to make our review negative just providing some constructive feedback. On the whole we were very impressed with our stay :)

Convenient location to Spirit of Tasmania. Very nice and neat room. A couch plus table and chairs. Very comfortable bed - new I think. Very friendly greeting and check-in. Free parking. Convenient key-drop box for early leavers.

Couch a bit worn but certainly adequate. Bathroom basin didn’t look clean but I think it was only dried water marks. Foxtell didn’t seem to work - asked for renewal of subscription - but that could have been me and my lack of technical knowledge! I didn’t realize WiFi access wasn’t free so didn’t really use it much. No charges have come through.

Bay city motel was the loveliest surprise! Spacious and immaculately cleaned, our room was perfect for our needs. Chosen for its location proved to be a good choice, short walk to city centre and Eastern Beach, botanical Gardens and more. Wonderful mid range place to stay!

Nothing really...everything was good

The room was fresh, light and bright. It had everything we needed.

The reception area was very dark and rundown. Although we had paid when we booked online, the receptionist insisted on a credit card deposit of $100 refundable. She wrote the number down which I thought was quite unusual and dodgy. I’m not sure when I will get the deposit returned.

The room was very clean. I was able to walk to the restaurants and also to the shopping centres. The staff were also very friendly. I was able to leave my car after check out time as I had an arranged appointment.

I can not fault anything with my stay. The only thing that I can think of is that I did not have a box of tissues in the room that can come in handy when they are needed.

Our twin room at Bay City Motel had firm beds which we greatly appreciated as we do not like soft beds. The room was clean and well equipped with a table and chairs, microwave oven and tea and coffee making facilities. We also able to open the window for fresh air and the room was quiet. The motel is ideally located for access to University Hospital, restaurants, shopping centre and the foreshore.

The room was clean and comfortable. I needed accommodation near the shopping center and the hospital. This motel met both my needs. I also needed a room that met the mobility issues of my mother. The motel was happy to assist.

Having to move the single bed so as I could watch TV in bed and had use of the bedroom table. this is not a big issue, I stayed here previously had had to do it then.

Quick check-in and check-out. Cleanliness is good to my standard. Good value for $, searching around and this allows my 11 yo daughter to stay in the same room without adding an extra room unnecessarily.

Beds are not comfortable. My wife could not sleep until 3AM and I had a backache in the morning.
