the location is perfect, easy access to everything we needed. Toilets are clean.

The shower curtains had gunk at the bottom edges; they require regular cleaning and disinfecting. That was the only issue we had with showers.

So clean, the staff were just so lovely and accommodating. Very comfy bed. Nice hot showers (be careful if you have young kids as the hit is sensitive and boiling). The bar downstairs has such a great fun atmosphere. Tram stop right out front. I had a mirror and wardrobe in my room-bonus!

Room 3 faces a busy street and the window isn’t double glazed so it’s insanely noisy unfortunately. Ear plugs didn’t cut it. The toilet lid in one of the toilets doesn’t stay up so as you sit the lid sits in your back-not nice after boys have used it.

Nice little hostel right across Victoria Market. Clean rooms, enough showers and all (cooking) facilities are available. Friendly staff that’ll help you get your way in hostel and the city. The bar downstairs also features some nice local beers. Location couldn’t be more convenient: as mentioned, Vic Market, and there’s also a tram stop right next to the hostel within the so called free tram zone. You’ll be in the heart of the city in no time! Note for other travelers who arrive early in the morning: this hostel opens check-in, and their front doors, at 1PM. If you arrive early, the doors are still closed (and can only be opened with key/token, which you get upon checking in). 11:30am is the earliest time you can leave your luggage at the hostel and start exploring the city.

Location Very friendly and helpful staff Clean facility Cozy bedroom and comfortable bed, Space to move around and huge space under the bed for backpacks Quiet room Pub downstairs Hairdryer !

Womens bathroom is really small, could use a shelf to put bottles or stuff outside of the shower A little bit noisy from the street and the pub No bed light

Location is great. Room was clean and spacious. Entrance is locked and accessible with a key fob, so it made me feel safe to know that only guests were entering the building. Toilets and kitchen were clean.

Staff was rude in one occurrence. If a guest fails to follow rules and it is not a huge infraction try to be nicer, especially if it's for not drying a single bowl. Also showers need more attention, a lot of people use them every day, they should be washed everyday (walls could use a scrub)

Location was great. Pretty quite - not a typical backpacker party hostel which I really appreciated (yet there is a pub downstairs in case you want to get a drink), considering I was looking for jobs and had other important stuff to do that required some concentration. The owners and their daughter are very hard working people who always try to do their best to accommodate all your needs. Beds are super comfy and the the curtains are a nice touch to make you feel like you’ve got some privacy, even though you are sharing the room with others. I would only recommend to instal a small night light to each bunk bed, that would be handy. Will definitely come back. Thank you for sweet welcome to Australia.

- my room was pretty decent in size. I liked the nice touch with the half curtains to add a little privacy when sharing rooms. aircon was also a plus! - clean facilities and were cleaned often. - location was perfect! just across Queen Victoria market and the free trams to head further in the cbd. bar underneath hostel is owned by the same owners. so you can hang out there. there's also a direct access to the hostel from there. - friendly owners who were happy to answer your queries and give you advice about Melbourne. - a quiet and small hostel with compact facilities, which is nice to unwind after a busy day. so if you're looking for a party place and meeting lots of people this might not be a place for you. - wifi is available everywhere and is pretty fast. - easy check-in and fast check-out.

Personal experience: Not too much of an issue if you're arriving later or you don't mind, but just wanted to let you know. If you arrive early before 11am, the owners might not be there as their "office hours" is actually in line with the latest check-out time (11.30am). So if you want to drop-off your suitcase early you might not be able to. Better ask beforehand if it's possible.

Excellent location with a tram stop right outside the door. Just a few minutes walk into the Melbourne cbd.Very peaceful. Management are proactive and ensure that all linen provided is clean and fit for purpose. Has separate male and female bathrooms. Safe for females tracelling alone. A great place to board. I highly recommended QVH!

The only negative is that the wifi signal is a bit weak.

Great location, right outside QV Market and tram-line. A family-run hostel, who were all lovely and happy to help with any queries. Facilities are good but a little small- however they are cleaned daily. Free bag storage and bar downstairs, which closed at a reasonable time each night so not noisy.

Kitchen and dining area is a little awkward due to lack of space but it is manageable and other guests all worked happily around each other. The facilities were cleaned daily but their upkeep just depends on how other guests look after them, as in any hostel environment, which is unfair for the owners.

Good, convenient place for a short stay near the city centre, right next to the Victoria Market. Clean and comfortable dorm and bed.

Shouldn't have to pay a $50 damage deposit, especially when the reception is usually closed when you check out, meaning you have to give your bank details or come back another time to get your money back. It's a hassle.
