Convenient location, near Victoria Market, near Tramp, easy to walk to the center and many restaurants. The hostel has a shared kitchen where supplies are properly managed.

Quite crowded and noisy, not suitable for those who want peace and quiet. The private bathroom in the room has no exhaust fan and there should be a handle on the inside of the bathroom door because it is quite difficult to use when locking.

Great location and really comfortable rooms, I like that they have curtains and chargers for each bed. The en-suite bathroom was super nice. Lots of space to chill outside the rooms as well. Awesome location in the city close to public transport and shops and restaurants in walking distance. Staff was very nice and helpful as well. Smooth and easy check in/check out

The only thing I could ask for is a towel, but that’s just hostels in Australia unfortunately. Everything else was perfect!

Exceptional staff. Reception was very helpful and patient with me. Showed me around and took me to the room. The room was very clean, and the bathroom smelled like flowers. The housekeeping team, together with their manager are doing an amazing job. They should get a pay rise. Definitely will come back and will take my school group next time, as the girl working with the group was sooo nice to me when I was taking my luggage down and helped me. Great team.

The friendly staff, Augustine especially was very helpful as i had to extend my stay for an extra week last minute. Cleaning of rooms and common spaces, ensuite bathrooms for people who work is ideal, activities planned every day.

I didn't like not having a kitchen on the 3rd floor as I was told there was one on each floor. not having available common toilets outside the room just in case. No laundry room on the 3rd floor and just 3 washing machines and 3 dryers for the whole place, plus one dryer has been broken for the past 5 days and not still repaired. I'm currently doing my laundry in a Laundromat.

Good location, right in CBD. Short walk to tram stops and stores. Use of access codes instead of physical keys was convenient. Common area and room were clean and spacious. Comfy bed. USB port and privacy curtain were great features. Free coffee in the kitchen.

The stoves. It was quite tricky to get them to work. Always took many tries, every time. Gotta press and turn it this way and that, too much or too little then it won't work. Not sure if it is the ignition issue or unstable gas supply. On one of my day staying at the hostel, there was a big group of students (?) visiting, certain floors were closed and couldn't be accessed by lifts. No prior notice was given, which made moving about in the hostel quite confusing and inconvenient.

I can't speak highly enough of Village Melbourne. It's dorm-room prices but the facilities are super clean and reliable plus, while we are in bunks, the privacy curtains really add to the sense of security and the bunks are very sturdy (no wobbling when other guests climb the ladder or collapse into bed). Lock boxes for each bed, charging ports in every bunk. Super fun atmosphere downstairs with weekly games, competitions and drink specials. Staff are very chill. Seriously if you're complaining about this place for the prices they charge there is something wrong with you. I stay here all the time when I have to finish late and start early for work in CBD. Perfect.

It would be nice if towels were offered as part of the price, or maybe just for the deluxe options.

My bunk bed was very comfortable in the 6 bed dormitory. Each dorm had its own bathroom which was so convenient and private. Other guests were respectful and there’s security at the front entrance. Access in and out of the building/dorm room is keyless via phone app (super cool!). Atmosphere is chill, not noisy or rowdy if you prefer the quiet life. Highly recommend The Village Melbourne for any traveller - young or mature, single or coupled.

Only one kitchen was open at the time so it got fairly hectic around peak meal times.

Nice hostel, pretty centrally located with 24h security. Loads of young people from all over the world and organised activities every night. Bed curtains is a huge plus for privacy and cover from the main light.

On my arrival got stuck in the lift for close to an hour 😁. Power sockets on the walls in the common areas are not sensibly placed. Many tables located in the middle of the corridors and laptop/phone wires plugged into the sockets create a trip hazard and there is usually a fair bit of traffic from people walking to their rooms with their heads in the mobiles. Suggestion would be to provide additional sockets under the tables instead.

Bed was clean. Stayed in 4 bed female and toilet was incredible. Aircons in rooms and common area (not normal in australia hostels apparently). Would higher recommend over other hostels (e.g. R*****s hostel) in Melbourne!

The no alcohol policy just because they have a bar downstairs and they want you to buy from them. The kitchen closes at 10pm leaving everyone stranded and if people come home after work they literally cant cook or eat anything because everything is in the kitchen and locked up. You dont need to be cheerful all the time but staff could be friendlier and happier to help.

The aesthetic of the whole building, rooms, common areas and vibe. It was relaxing, cosy and modern. Check in and out with the Goki app and reception staff was easy. Slight hiccup with the check in ipads, but rectified by an attentive staff member. Bed was super comfy and water temp/pressure in the shower was good and appreciated. Our private room had cute furnishings but also helpful items like an open hanging wardrobe with shelves, coat hangers, a luggage rack, little stool and full length mirror. The location is perfect, close to the QV Markets, Melbourne Central and within walking or tram distance to everything. Despite being in the CBD, it's a fairly quiet area. Nice cafe next door called Ichigo.

The common areas are very noisy at night. There doesn't appear to be an enforced quiet time. Other guests were right outside the non soundproof door, talking and yahooing until 1/2am. This detracts from the place enormously. - Bathroom has nowhere to hang towels and no hand towel for the sink.
