Loved having two comfortable queen beds and a large room. Good sized bathroom and shower. Lots of pillows plus extra blankets if needed. Loved that it had a front and back door with the back door opening on a little patio overlooking the dam. The dinner in the bistro was brilliant. It was surprisingly quiet seeing it's near a fairly busy road. There was a function on which we could hear a bit but that finished at 11pm then it was super quiet. It was also great having a bottle shop there too

We were a little disappointed in the breakfast after such a good dinner, the acai bowl needed tweaking, but that's really just me being fussy. Otherwise everything was great

We really liked location, facilities, room setup and space, cleanliness, outdoor area, wifi and QR codes accessible to make it easier. On-site we enjoyed going for a nature walk every morning, swimming, both restaurants food was so good, Family bistro portions were huge, York restaurant absolutely loved the atmosphere, BWS, staff, and real easy check-in process. Locally we explored Yarra Valley Chocolate factory and had lunch there, St Hubert’s winery for lunch with a $15 wine tasting and art gallery, Blue Lotus Water Garden where you can easily spend a few hours with kids free entry and about $20 adult tickets plus a cafe onsite about $25 lunch per person, and Four Pillars for dinner and $50 gin tasting that was totally worth the experience, these were all about a 20min drive each way.

Not a deal breaker but adding a tennis net to tennis court

Number of cups provided, tea facility. The Pub Cafe is brilliant--best value for money. The bed-making is beyong 4 star. The lid of the 60 L black rubish bin outside the rooms on first floor is very, very, very dirty--spoiling the enroviment of stay.

No tissue box provided in the room (which is around $1 in Cole)--for a room wiht >$220/night, surely the hotel can afford a tissue box--instead your customers have to go to Lilydale Coles to get one. The kettle is the cheapest version on the market, does not fit a 4 Star hogel's standard--millions of microplastic partices are produced each time your customers using this cheap plastic kettle.

room 13 had an updated bathroom and on the ground floor which was great for my elderly mum. But could not get coverage for the WIFI or phone coverage from my room. Room 28 was my son's room and he could get the free wifi but it was not updated and the shower was not very safe as it was a corner tub that he had to climb into.

free wifi was hit and miss breakfast on the weekend was not great. My mother and I had Dry toast and over cooked poached eggs. Had to ask for some butter as was gagging on the dry toast and the poached eggs were hard so no lubricant there, My son had the fried eggs and they at least were not overcooked. My brother liked the full breakfast that he had.

Rooms and pool/outside bar area were very nice, beds super comfortable

Wifi didn’t work unless in common areas, tennis court was worn out with no net which was a bummer as we were looking forward to playing, food at the sports bar was terrible.. we ordered a variety of food & each dish was very poor in taste, better to just go there for drinks.. bistro was much nicer when we went the second night however the outdoor area there could use a touch up and clean, looked old & like it’s not taken care of out there.. room service never worked either when we tried scanning the QR codes & no one answering reception phone when we tried to call to order breakfast to our room.

We stayed here recently, and our original review remains valid: We've stayed at this hotel twice previously - and recommend the upper spa rooms (if climbing in and out of the raised tub/shower is not a problem), especially those with a view to the small lake. The large rooms also have a great view towards the bushland, with birds, etc - and are in a relatively quiet setting, though background noise (talk & music) can be heard from the bistro/bar on busy nights. It wasn't too intrusive to us however. The bed is comfortable and there is tea/coffee, milk and complementary bottled water, sofa, table and chairs and a balcony facing the lake/bush. We will stay again when is this area.

Staff were great communicators, very accommodating and attentive. Facilities were spatious, immaculately clean and all creature comforts were catered for. Appreciated the attention to detail in our room. Many on site options for food, drinks, gaming, music, but none interfered with our quiet enjoyment. Our balcony view was exceptional and we loved walking round the lake and lounging by the outdoor pool after a dip. All in all, a perfect little weekend getaway, easily accessible by public transport with the feel of being sheltered in the countryside despite proximity to town. Must return for the Yacht Rock Festival in December!

The location was perfect for what we needed to do while in Melbourne. Having a bistro on site was great after a day’s travelling, beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room. Staff were helpful, particularly on recommendations for breakfast and where to eat.

I flooded the bathroom while having a shower. I had it on too hard, I really needed a mop, the drainage holes weren’t great. The following shower, not so hard worked well!
