Superb hotel in Austrian style with traditional decorations. Nice pool/sauna/hammam zone. Very good restaurant for dinner with very professional and friendly service. Great breakfast. Easy access to Salzburg by bus.

You are charged the cover charge at the restaurant of 5eur per person, even for 3-year old child (!) , did not see it in any other restaurant in Austria. Also, I understand it’s more profitable to charge for tea/coffee at the bar, but having tea/coffee amenities in the room would be more customer friendly.

I enjoyed staying at this traditional family run Austrian hotel. My large room had an Austrian style wooden balcony, a wood floor and classical wood furniture and fittings. The shared areas had wonderful artworks, paintings and vintage furniture. The friendly staff dressed in an Austrian style. I only ate breakfast, but the quality of the food was and reflected the attention to detail which made the stay feel special.

A little way out of Salzburg centre , but on a main bus route so getting into Salzburg was a breeze. Had the pool and sauna wellness complex to myself , which felt a bit weird, perhaps it is more of a winter activity.

The hotel is marvelous, very beautiful and authentic. The building is quite old but all amenities are new and air conditioning is present in the room. The bed was comfortable; the wardrobe was big enough and bathroom had enough space. The restaurant had beautiful cutlery. It is easy to reach the city center as the bus stop is just round the corner.

It was quite noisy outside with the open window as it is near the highway. The cleaning could have been better as they didn't hoover the flooring.

great experience . Hotel is bit old style but luxury at the same time. amazing lounge area with the bonfire .we just loved it . also bar next to it just lift up the experience. very nice pool with towels around and sauna . Breakfast was nice . not all variety is on the table on buffet, it took us time to understand that they have live kitchen where you can order omlette, fired eggs n scrambled eggs on the go and they are freshly prepared. amazing Jam and freshly squeezed juices. hot freshly prepared breads and coffee . very helping staff. provided us bus passes.

Being luxury for me it is very expensive

Hotel beside a busy motorway bus or 22 euro taxi ride into beautiful Salzburg, too far away. A lot of luxury accommodation being built around the grounds of the hotel with an ugly Crain in the view of mountains which are blocked by all the new housing. Such a tragedy ,so sad it would have been a magnificent place in its day .

The staff were very helpful and competent. The design of the hotel was beautiful and the room we had was enormous, very comfortable and attractive. The gardens, restaurant area and swimming areas were lovely.

We arrived on Sunday afternoon and found that the kitchen was closed and that we could not get an evening meal and also that there was no restaurant in the surrounding district. There is a regular fifteen or twenty minute bus service just outside the hotel but it takes about twenty minutes to get into the town centre. The nearest shops are a considerable walk from the hotel. The weekday evening meal is very expensive and there are very few choices for non-meat eaters. I would not recommended the hotel unless you have a car.

Hotel Gasthof Brandstätter is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. A beautiful building, a lovely room, great service. My room was quiet, there was none of the door-banging and corridor noise you often experience in many hotels. The staff were absolutely fantastic - very friendly and very helpful. My room was spotlessly clean. Very easy access to the city centre via a regular trolleybus. Breakfast al fresco looking over to Untersberg is wonderful! I will definitely book again :)

I really thank the staff.. very helpful.. the lady at the breakfast is very nice and accommodating. My room was big with big balcony overlooking a big backyard… wow.. breathtaking..very home like hotel.. very authentic

Guests really need fridge and small buffet with boiler, Nespresso machine and spoons ..I had some berries, yogurt and cheeses that were spoiled. Although they offered to keep it in hotel fridge, but usually I come back to hotel late where reception is closed

A magnificent place to stay! ALL of the staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was very comfortable and I really enjoyed the indoor pool overlooking the pretty garden with all its autumn colours. I can imagine in summer that this is even more fabulous!

The location is not ideal. And the day I used the bus it was really very busy and standing room only. But the S-bahn is also nearby (only 15 mins walk) and I found that this is way better.

I liked the location, which was close to the center of Salzburg. The hotel was old fashioned, but was cozy. The rooms and bathroom were big, clean and comfortable. Additionally, the sauna and swimming pool were great to bei used throughout the day.

Unfortunately, there were some issues at breakfast. A wide range of sweets, cheese, ham and buns. The waiting time for getting a coffee was very long, which was a pity.
