The staff is great. The hotel is generally nice and the room was spacious and comfortable. There is a big TV with many channels and a good working area both inside the room and in the hotel lobby. There were a few things in the room that could use some maintenance, but generally, it was clean. The breakfast was decent.
The location is good if you have some business in Tour & Taxis, but otherwise is not the best as the neighborhood is a bit shady (as a local warned us). There are a lot of kids/students staying long term in the hotel, so it can be noisy at times. I didn't mind, but if you are looking for a business hotel, this might not be for you. All in all, I liked the stay, but the value for the money was not great.

Location was great for my purposes. The room was big, but dated. Clean and everything worked, but an update would be great. The breakfast is good. However, you can not get dinner at the hotel restaurant on Sundays.
The pictures of the rooms are quite flattering compared to reality.

The hotel recently changed property and the the staff at the desk moved from wearing an elegant uniform to a ridiculous sweater in an ugly blue colour and printed with a big "smile" on the back. I believe that this is an insult to their professionality, IMHO the management should reconsider this choice, the desk staff is the first contact point for customers and shouldn't be asked to wear in a way that depreciates their professionality. Looks like the new management is trying to "renew" the image of the hotel as if it was an old company taken over by a start-up of young hipsters. Please, step back from this!

Friendly staff, good location, metro, bus, and tram nearby, plus (if you like walking) Grand Place was just 30 minutes away on foot, good breakfast with plenty of choice, the bar was open in the evenings and was a quiet place to chill, room was very spacious and comfortable, shower was great, nice to have a bathtub, I was able to switch the tv to my language, tea and coffee facilities in the room, plenty of pillows.
Bath towels were far too small, I would have liked proper cups in my room for tea and coffee instead of paper ones, and there's no soundproofing - I heard everything - the very active couple in the room next door, people in the hallway, and from my bathroom, I heard the guests upstairs in their bathroom.

The breakfast was great and I would definitely recommend adding it to the booking as it’s quite expensive if booked separately (as we did this when our daughter visited). A great selection of fruits, cereals, pastries, breads and hot food such as bacon, sausage, eggs etc. The reception area is really comfortable, modern in design and relaxing. The staff were fantastic and really helpful and also allowed us a later checkout (at an additional cost) and also booked us a taxi to the airport. Cleaning was carried out daily which was fantastic. The room, albeit a bit dated in its decoration, was clean, quiet, had air con, a safe and a small fridge. The coffee machine and coffee pods was a great addition too. It was a great location for our needs and also very close to the main train station.
The room was a little dated in its decoration but very clean. Could only find a couple of tv channels in full English - smart tv’s could be a future investment??? The train / metro / bus station (and nothing to do with the hotel) is undergoing significant renovation and is very run down and can feel a little unsafe at night. Loads and loads of police about which was reassuring though and the hotel is literally next to the police station too.

The hotel is very big and the best part is they have big luggage store room. So if you reach hotel before check in time, you can request the reception to keep the luggage in the luggage store room. That's what we did. And we could freely roam around the city for 3 hours. And then came back for check in. Which I personally liked the most. Rooms are also very big and proper lights are there. Quite and peaceful stay. Also they have a paid coffee machine at the reception.
The beds in the room were not very comfortable. After waking up in the morning, I had felt back pain. Also the room became hot during the night. We asked the reception. They told it is centralized AC so we can't do anything. We had to open windows for some time and then lock them again (for safety) before sleeping.

The staff at the reception were exceptionally kind, helpful, and friendly. They truly made the experience. The bar staff as well. I also appreciated the water pressure and immediate hot water - rarity these days in most hotels. The towels, robes and bedding were wonderful as well. The multilingual staff was amazing, especially coming from Germany where it's rare.
Weirdly enough the glass protective tops on the desk in my room didn't allow for my wireless mouse to work and made it difficult to write on paper directly; providing a desk pad for both writing and wireless mouse tracking would be great.

I had a fantastic experience at a&o Brussels! The hotel was clean, modern, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and tidy, with cozy beds and two separate toilets. The location is perfect, close to public transport and major points. Plus, the prices are very affordable, making it a great choice for any traveler. We didn’t include breakfast in our stay, but the last day we tried the hotel’s buffet and it was good. I highly recommend staying here—great value, great service, and a great experience!
Maybe what I didn’t like is the check-out timing being 10:00, check-out at 12:00 would be more suitable. Luckily there’s an option for late check out that’s not too expensive.

The room was spacious and warm (AC available) and the water in the shower was extremely hot, which was great given the cold weather. The staff was helpful and friendly, there were many towels provided (and as a hairdryer), as well as coffee and tea in the room, which were replaced every day by the kind staff. The location is really good for taking trips from the North Station to some of the close by cities (we went to Antwerpen and Bruges). It is also walkable distance from the city centre (we didnt have to take the subway). Overall it is great value for money! Also P.S - huge mirror in the bathroom as well as a pretty big mirror in the room, which was great for doing my hair and makeup!

Room: 9/10. very clean, comfy beds, air conditioning good. Hair dryer: 7/10. Old device. Falling a little bit apart. Breakfast: 10/10. Good coffee and tea. Boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, charcuterie, fruits, cereals. Only 11 euros. Good deal. From 07:00 to 11:00. We asked for an iron. Good device. Had to leave a 20 euros deposit. Hotel close to Gare du Nord (north station). Took us less than 5 minutes to get into town.
Reception desk attendants were nice, but they could do better. Our key cards wouldn't work properly so we had to get them magnetized many times. We went up and down trying to get them to work. Coffee at the reception desk is expensive and not good at all. Thought we were having a room with a queen bed, but we ended up having a room with 2 single beds. Didn't affect our stay really, but it would have been nice to have a queen bed.
