A variety of food for breakfast catering for peoples allergys

After parking our vehicle's in the underground carpark some of the group was having difficulty with the staff at the reception. Taking credit card payments from some. Going through booking.com the money for the whole trip was taking out of my account for all the rooms I booked prior to our arrival. So please explain to me why the hotel need to take further payments for rooms that had already been booked and payed for. Regards laurence Tyrrell

The location is absolutely amazing- a few steps from the main square. It is modern. Rooms are good size and beds were comfortable. Great pressured showers. We have teenagers including a child with some physical disabilities so it was great that the hotel could give us an adjoining room.

As we had an adjoining room that was pre-arranged, it was disappointing that when the adjoining doors were opened there was dirt between the doors - clearly no vacuuming goes on between the doors. There was cobwebs and a toilet roll inner tube on the floor in the corner of one of the rooms. Whilst the bedding and rest of the room seemed to be clean to a good standard, it was a little off-putting, but not a huge deal. One shower was blocked and flooded the bathroom on the first use. It was promptly sorted when we reported it the next day.

Excellent room, good size and very clean. The lobby area is equally as smart and it’s in a tip top central location just round the corner from the Menin Gate. There’s a secure modern multi story adjacent for your car but it’ll cost you €20 for an overnight stay.

The receptionist doubles up as the bar maid. Essentially she is the only person on site during the late evening. She coped admirably well but I’m not sure it’s an acceptable practice when a hotel is so busy. Guests were voicing there frustration about it to her. In addition, last orders at the (very nice) hotel bar is 2230. Too early I’m afraid, and once again unacceptable when you’ve splashed out €130 to stay.

Perfect location to explore the beautiful area around Ypres, and perfect for the short walk into Ypres main square with its excellent Bars, Restaurants, Shops and of course Menin Gate. Hotel and room were spotlessly clean and modern. Staff are Exceptional!! Polite, friendly, speak many languages and above all professional and helpful. They went above and beyond, after staying the night we had a flat car battery. They took care of the situation when I explained I was struggling to get roadside assistance out to me. The hotel staff made multiple calls to seek and arrange for roadside assistance and even provided my small children with water and croissant while we awaited a mechanic. A credit to Novotel! A positive enjoyable experience in the midst of a stressful morning trying to get home to the UK. Definitely recommend a stay, will be coming back and will now seek to explore other Novotel Hotels.

The hotel is in a great location just a minutes walk away from the main square of Ypres, our room was very clean and spacious. There is parking further along the street and around the corner near to the church and first two hours are free then 2 euros for rest of the day & free from 6pm till 9am. We didn't eat at the hotel as there is a bakery across the road and loads of restaurants a short walk away & St Arnoldus for a nice Belgian beer near to the Menin Gate is always a win. I will be staying here again

The location was superb. The hotel itself was very much like any other business hotel with the expected facilities. Breakfast was lovely with a good choice of healthy options We had a map posted to the hotel a few days before and on arrival the receptionist was very keen to make sure we got it. Thank you

The only real issue was that we were unable to change a 10 euro note for some change to pay for a car park ticket. We were told to go to a shop as they didn't provide change in the hotel. This really seemed so petty and tourists don't normally travel with loose change and the ticket machine doesn't accept cards After a very long tiring journey the last thing you need is to be searching for a shop to get 2 euros to park your car! Please try to remedy this and next time you'll get full marks

The staff are always friendly here. We arrived early but was told that it wasn't a problem and checked to see if our room was ready, which it was. The room was clean and tidy and the usual coffee facilities in the room.

On this particular stay, the bar was operating a very minimal service, with no draft beer, ales or ciders, and very limited bottled and canned drinks. We had planned to spend the evening in the hotel bar, but instead opted to go out.

Central location & secure parking for motorcycle.

The car park exit ramp steep & had 2 barriers. We asked the car park staff on the intercom to hold the barriers for 3 motorcycles to pass. There was barely enough time to pass before it came down. I just made it but my 2 friends were both struck on the head/helmet by the barrier, which on a steep slope with heavy motorbikes was dangerous. The car park staff were of no use. The hotel staff said if we spoke to them they would hold the barriers.

Didn't like the paper cups in the room and prefer glasses. Breakfast was OK but nothing special, the bacon went quickly and the sausage was not nice. The hotel is in a great location only a short distance from the Menin Gate.

As above. Had a motorbike and was of the impression that the hotel had parking...it didn't and it cost 22 euros for 24hours so pretty expensive. Paper cups, poor breakfast. There is parking next to the church, but that isn't cheap and hard to find a space.

I used this hotel for its central location, it was expensive but 0 cost street parking immediately in front of the hotel made the price more acceptable. We had a largish room with its sofa in addition to the double beds. Lovely big TV screen, a definite improvement over the usual.

Very expensive breakfast charge, which is why we passed. The bathroom shower needs a grip bar, the step-down to the bathroom floor is a big step and could easily result in a fall. An accident waiting to happen.
