Appears to be a new business, still getting the breakfast arrangements sorted out, so drinks were available but no food on the days that we were there. Not a big issue for us, we could easily deal with it. Everything else was excellent. A good location, parking easily available, room clean, comfortable, very good facilities. I would definitely recommend this place.

As above, breakfast arrangements need sorting out, then the whole experience will be excellent. There was nothing that would put us off using Het Houten Paard again.

Franky was mint. Couldn't do enough for us. My wife was ill & he offered to get medicine & to cook for her! Spotless room, spacious, small things like face clothes and a kitchen area (aside from our room) to eat takeaway. Quiet location but still only a 10 minute stroll to menin gate. Clean, modern and accessible. Super comfy bed, great orthopedic pillows with AC and heating! If we came back to Ieper, we'd stay in this place again, no doubt!

Can't think of anything.

The hotel was ideally located for our road trip exploring the Battlefields. The room was of an exceptionally high standard, with no faults whatsoever. Ample parking was available nearby, and the property was easy to find. The owner was extremely helpful and provided a fresh breakfast each morning. The property was within walking distance of the town center, which offered an excellent selection of restaurants and bars, and Menin Gate was also conveniently close by.

Could not fault anything 😊

It's a lovely, light, airy clean room in a great location 10 minutes walk from the town centre. We were able to store our motorbikes in the garage. We arrived dripping wet in our motorbike gear and Franky didn't bat an eyelid. Franky is really friendly and welcoming and we'd already recommended the B&B to somebody else even before we arrived home!

The listing refers to breakfast but there was no mention of that from Franky.

This is a lovely B&B, centrally located in Ieper - only 10 minutes walk from downtown and the Menin Gate. Parking available. The room is very well appointed, the bed is comfy, and the air conditioning works! We did not include breakfast in our stay so I can’t comment on that. Everything is very clean and neat! There is a narrow staircase to negotiate, but we had no trouble. Franky is a wonderful host, who was available to help with restaurant suggestions and sightseeing options. Ieper is a beautiful city that is well worth a visit!

The owner of the property, absolutely top man he was not in your face but he was there if you needed anything, nothing was too much trouble. We arrived on two motorcycles he let us store them in his garage. Location was just a ten minute walk to the center property was spotlessly clean, this was the first place in two weeks that had tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast was very good.

For us nothing really we are in our mid sixty's and active but someone that isn't may have problems with the stairs as they were quite steep.

Excellent!! Franky is obviously hard working and dedicated. The accommodation is in excellent order and spotlessly clean, also being able to park in a secure garage (Motorcycle) gave great peace of mind. First class breakfast with fresh food every day, I really can't speak highly enough of the whole experience. Just far enough from the square for a peaceful night but well within walking distance to fully appreciate the town on foot and what a beautiful town it is. Many thanks Franky, will recommend and will hopefully see you again.

Nothing. Perfect from end to end.

Good location within walking distance of the main square and the Menen Gate. There were plenty of cafes and bars in that area. We did not realise that, being mid-January, the Flanders Field Museum was on its annual 3-week break. The B&B was fine, the breakfast breads and pastries were lovely and fresh, and plenty of fruit etc. Franky, the host, was very helpful indeed; told us about the museum closure, checked out the train timetable, and drove us to the station early the next morning.

Almost every food and drink place was closed on a Friday night, except in the main square. Not unexpected really as it was mid-January.

Date of visit 7th to 9th Jan 2023. Nice location close to the center of Ypres, only a few minutes walk away from the main attractions. There's a good selection local beer establishments in the area. ie down the little side streets, keep ya eyes peeled.... Plenty of eating places, one of our treats is Ypres Burger Bar, we also found a small steak house which we'll be visiting again on our next visits to Ypres, Sorry can't remember the name tho, but its near the new Chinese restaurant and food store, opposite where the coaches drop off..... Booking in was extremely easy, a few days before arriving we received a detailed message of how to get into the property and where the keys were located. On our arrival Franky greeted with a warm welcome, loaning us a local car parking timer disc and information about car parking in the area, he also showed us around the property and explained about the breakfast and the utensils. Franky asked us what time we would like fresh rolls for the following morning breckfast a selection hams & cheeses were freshly placed in the fridge, eggs were available for boiling along with fresh orange juice & jams. Plenty fresh fruits, yogot and a good selection of cereals to hand. One of the best beds I've slept in for a long while, an excellent few nights sleep was had, the rooms has blackout blinds and a lovely shower... The room was extremely clean and tidy. We will be visiting here again Franky available if required and we were never bothered by him. Top tip...... take a zip freezer bag with you, then anything you can't eat at Breckfast you can bag up and have snack while out visiting..... Thanks Franky.

Nothing really, a plesent visit.....

I was impressed with Franky on his customer service and easy instructions. For example, where to park your car and several options to make your stay pleasant. I have not met him on my stay but he made sure everything was in place for both check-in and Out. Will book again when I am back in Leper. Highly recommended.
