Another great stay at Banff Gate Resort. Very comfy, quiet, and well-appointed. We had 4 adults and a 10-month old child for a 2-week stay and all of us had a wonderful time. Location may seem a bit remote, but is only a few minutes to Canmore and only a short drive to Banff. Excellent hiking trails right from the property. Staff kept the paths and streets safe and clear even through several snow storms. Used deck for playing in the snow - grandson loved it! Used BBQ several times to prepare dinner. May not be the most elegant place to stay, but it is a fantastic value and we will be back.

Disappointed that the indoor pool and sauna was not available. Option of using pool in town was not convenient.

Our stay at Banff Gate Mountain Resort was truly a memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning natural beauty surrounding the resort. It’s an ideal place if you’re looking to escape the noise and busyness of city life—everything about the atmosphere here is calm, quiet, and rejuvenating. The resort itself is well-maintained, and the chalets are cozy and comfortable, giving you that warm, home-away-from-home feeling. Whether you’re sitting outside enjoying the fresh mountain air or relaxing inside by the fireplace, there’s a sense of serenity that makes you feel completely at ease. One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional hospitality. The staff were all very friendly, approachable, and helpful throughout our visit. It’s clear that they genuinely care about making guests feel welcome and well taken care of. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would absolutely recommend Banff Gate Mountain Resort to anyone looking for a quiet, scenic, and relaxing getaway in the mountains. We’re already looking forward to coming back again in the future!

This is our second time visiting Banff Gate Mountain Resort in winter with our 2 young children and we were so excited to come back! The cabins are warm and inviting and are always impeccably clean. We love the games room in the main lodge, picking out board games, DVDs, etc. to bring back to our cabin, the pool of course (especially the outdoor hot tub) and the hiking trail by the main entrance is magical. Thank you for this wonderful space! We've already created so many wonderful memories here and plan to return annually <3

The only minor suggestion I have is to offer thinner pillows in the rooms as we find the current ones much too high. It's an easy solution for us to bring our own next time though.

We booked a last minute trip to Canada over New Year’s and knew nothing about the area. Boy, did we luck out at the Banff Gate Mountain Resort! The location was perfect. It was remote enough to have a gorgeous view but not too far from anything. Staff was terrific and helpful. Place was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We were so pleasantly surprised to find the giant tub also in the cabin. Was great for us to soak after a long day outside. We will definitely be back!

Loved the location of our cabin. It was close to Canmore and Banff, but we loved the remoteness of where we stayed. We even saw a grizzly bear grazing on dandelions just 20 yards from our cabin. As for the cabin itself, I don’t even know where to start. We loved everything about it. It was huge and my husband and I joked that it would be a perfect size home for us when we retire. It was extremely clean and everything was modern and up-to-date. Kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were probably my favorite of eveything. They were the comfiest beds we have ever slept in. It made it hard to wake up every morning. I have zero complaints and would absolutely stay here again.

Blew our minds wonderfully. We needed a two-bedroom facility and boy did they meet our every desire. These are individual cabins spread up a hill side with fantastic views of the surround Canadian Rockies. We were lucky enough to get cabin 45 which is above the others and has an unobstructed view of mountains and the adjoining field where we could view local wildlife. The cabin had upstairs and downstairs private bedrooms with associated bathrooms. Upper bath had jetted tub, lower had shower/tub. Beds were luxurious in every respect, slept like a rock. The facility has a large pool and both indoor and outdoor hot tubs. Also, children's play areas, and various adult game options. Main lodge is very spacious and could be used for conference, wedding etc. Local hiking trails are not overly steep. The kitchen was very well stocked and would support a long stay. Groceries and the like are in Canmore about 15km away- also a very good place for dining and shopping. Full electronics are available in the living room area. BBQ on deck.

Actually, nothing. Even though spendy- felt got more value than nearly any other place have stayed in my 74 years.

It was peaceful and the view was beautiful. They had a lot of things you can do while staying there. We enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi and the pool. The cabins were spacious. We loved how we can cook in the kitchen all kitchenware you need is there. Ot would be nice if they had a rice cooker.

It would have been nice to have 2 showers, ours have just 1 and the bathroom on the 2nd floor only had a tub on it but the jets weren’t functioning. Parking signs per cabin would be helpful, we were given different instructions on where to park, one told us we can park between the cabins, then on our third day someone else was parking there and we were told we were supposed to park in-front of our cabin.

Our family had a wonderful stay at gorgeous Banff Gate Mountain Resort. The beds were so comfy!!! Full Kitchenette and BBQ grill with a big patio is an added bonus! Indoor pool was great too and other amenities. It is located at dead mans flat, approx 20mins away from Canmore & Banff. It is very affodable and quite place compared to hotels available in Canmore/Banff. Staffs are friendly and very accomodating, I booked again this October to celebrate my bday. From now on, we will have a yearly tradition to book a cabin to detached from our busy life and spend quality time with our children.

Nothing. Everything is perfect for us!

My family and I are delighted with the rest in this hotel! It is surrounded by forest and mountains, in a very quiet place, like in a fairy tale. The territory is very beautiful and well-groomed, there is a playground, swings. There is something to entertain yourself on the territory. We also liked the house very much, it is very spacious and cozy. The beds are gorgeous, soft, we slept well☺️I definitely recommend them to everyone

It is remote from canmore and banff so it is very quiet and the scenery was beautiful! We even saw the resident bear happily eating meadow grass, minding his own business. Super rustic but with all the amenities in a normal house you could ask for. Have a great selection of DVDs if you have little ones.

Alot of travel time going between canmore and banff and it would be nice if they had a little store with some food items, cleaning supplies, medical supplies and more.
