I was traveling in BC, Canada from California to help build the new Double Bay Sanctuary for orca whales on remote Hanson Island, where OrcaLab is located. Unfortunately, I needed emergency care near the end of my stay, which led us to the Comox Valley ER. Crown Isle was the only property in Comox showing availability that night (the peak of summer season), so even though it was much, MUCH swankier than we needed, we booked it. What a surprise and delight Crown Isle Resort is! The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are huge and well appointed, with a fully stocked kitchen, separate living room, two fireplaces (!) and a balcony with cafe table and chairs overlooking the forest. Even though the front desk closed before we arrived, a desk clerk met us and offered coffee and cookies, and got us checked in. I'm not a golfer, but if I were, I would definitely stay here, and I'd stay here again just for the comfort, beauty, and luxurious pampering Crown Isle offers. The big, plush robe, jet bathtub, down pillows and comforter, L'Occitane toiletries, and every other lovely detail were worth the splurge.

The address listed for the resort took us to a dead end and it was a struggle to find the resort entrance late at night in the dark. We called and got help from the late-night desk clerk, which helped but was still challenging to find. We hope Crown Isle will transition away from single-use toiletries to bulk toiletries, as many hotels are doing now to avoid plastic waste, which often ends up in the ocean.

Friendly and accommodating staff, beautiful property surrounding the villas, many in-room amenities (fridge with freezer, hot water kettle, nice soaps, dishware and cutlery, etc.)

Front desk was supposed to reserve a taxi for us to the airport the morning of our flight. The morning of, our pickup time came and went without a ride. We phoned the taxi service who informed us that no reservation had been made, and by the time we got to the airport, check-in was closed and our flight ended up leaving without us. We had initially intended to rent a car for this trip, but none were available. It's not the Crown Isle's fault that taxi service and public transit in the area are limited, but they could do more to ensure that their guests don't end up missing flights because of it (for example by having a proprietary shuttle they could use if there are no taxis or transit options available to their guests).

This property exceeded our expectations. The cleanliness, comfort, amount of space, and design/decor was a nice surprise. It was peaceful and quiet with the balcony and windows overlooking the golf course and tall trees. The beds and bedding were very comfy, including the sofa bed which seemed new. The kitchen had everything you need for a short stay. We ate at the resort restaurant 1 night and it was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely return for another stay!

Cant think of anything.

Lovely setting amongst trees. Our room was so spacious and comfortable. Breakfast at the weekend was very tasty.

The service charge, was for golf balls, use of the gym, water in the room and other small things. We are not golfers and did not require use of the gym and during our 4 night stay only had two bottles of water. Our room was on the pricy side (but worth it), so why charge another 15cad a day?

Great location. No breakfast just coffee and cookies in the lobby. This property is still using Covid protocols. The rooms are super clean and very quiet there. If you're looking to relax, it's perfect !

We have stayed there before so I can attest to quality standards usually. The facilities were shut down but the golf course was being utilized. So what I didn't like was not being able to eat there unless I ordered to my room plus the absence of staff although this is happening everywhere right now

It was disappointing that breakfast wasn’t available but it is stated that it’s due to a staff shortage which is widespread currently. The 5pm check is far too late for the price of the room per night, that would prevent me from returning. I think 3pm is late but reasonable. I understand why but 5pm is pushing it in my opinion. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the food was good in the restaurant and the staff and service was great as was the comfort and setting.

It was great to have a designated area of the property for dog friendly accommodations. It made it easy to let the pups out to potty as well as it made cleaning up of accidents simple because the unit was equipped with flooring rather then carpeting.

We didn’t dine in the restaurant but we did have a couple of drinks at the bar and they weren’t the best cocktails.

Dining room open for lunch and dinner, nice menu, good food and service Location and closeness to lodge Close covered parking Nice room, Comfortable beds, fridge microwave Proximity to Comox Valley Hospital

2 King Rooms at opposite end of building - would like to have been closer. Understand this is due to configuration of the rooms/suites. We may have made a different choice if this had been clearer in the Bookings web site. The front porch lights shine on the bed in Room 101 - - installing front door black out window panels like those on 112 would help. Breakfast was not available Why the $150 resort fee? Seems excessive - needs more explanation! Paid green fees and did not use other facilities

We have visited several time however this was the best. Beautiful villa overlooking the golf course. Close enough to walk to the restaurant and pro sho. Very comfortable bed and room.

The restaurant can be noisy especially when a loud group takes over. Wish staff had better control and suggested they keep it down so everyone could enjoy the evening. Nothing was done

The suite is perfect for a family with older kids. The gym is top notch for a resort. The kitchenette is just the right size for the rooms. The bet was very comfortable.

The hot water tank in the suite is not large enough to fill the jaccuzi all the way and allow for prolonged use.
