The rooms were spotless, the people who clean them do an amazing job! The river path behind the property was lovely and a great place to walk the dogs. We loved the easy (and free) parking outside the room, free wifi, the free fruit in the foyer, robes, pet-friendly (love the treats and towel pack for our pups on check-in) and the kids loved the pool. Beds were very comfortable.

Rooms felt quite dark, maybe some options for lighting to brighten it up. More choice on the complimentary drinks/snacks, having an option for breakfast would be great. A larger pool would be nice if there was the option to expand the on-site facilities.

We loved the location and our room overlooked the gardens. There is a walking path near by and you can walk a few blocks to shops. The staff was super friendly and greeted us kindly. The apartment was spacious and even had a W&D which we needed after a few weeks of travel & camping. The bed was super comfortable! They have yummy cookies in the foyer area if you can get some before all the kids do! :)

There were a few kids running the hallways and riding their foot scooters inside (foyer area). They were a bit noisy and were using the elevator more for fun. It wasn't too disturbing as they quieted down by 9pm and we also knew they were on vacation.

From the moment we checked in, the hotel staff greeted us with warm smiles and a genuine eagerness to assist with anything we needed. Their attentive and friendly service made us feel right at home. The hotel's attention to detail in maintaining the property was evident throughout our stay. From the pristine lobby to the well-kept gardens, it was clear that they take great pride in ensuring a top-notch guest experience. Our suite was nothing short of luxurious. The elegant design, coupled with the cozy fireplace, created a delightful ambiance that made us feel like we were indulging in a five-star retreat. The large balcony provided a picturesque view of the tranquil river, making it a perfect spot to enjoy our morning coffee or unwind in the evenings. The pool area was a definite highlight of our stay. With its sparkling clean waters and comfortable loungers, it quickly became our go-to spot for relaxation. The poolside service was impeccable, ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect day under the sun. Overall, this hotel was the crown jewel of our Canada trip this year. The combination of friendly staff, impeccable maintenance, stunning suite with a fireplace and balcony, and the superlative pool area left us with memories we will cherish for a lifetime. We can't wait to return and experience this slice of paradise once again!

Nothing to complain about

The on site restaurant, Locals, is pricey but excellent. There are some beautiful walks around the property. The staff were very helpful. The rooms are spacious and the architecture is interesting—not your typical hotel room.

The old house does not serve breakfast. They mention there are breakfast restaurants within easy walking distance. Not so easy for an 80 year old with arthritic knees. There is a well equipped kitchenette so, next time I will make my own.

Large comfortable and very clean rooms with high ceilings (on the first floor). Kitchenette facilities (dishes, cutlery, microwave and fridge) appreciated. Registration staff friendly and efficient. Also appreciated the shampoo and soap in the dispensers vs the small disposable containers that are so common and unfriendly to the environment on disposal. Separate shower and bath a nice touch. Pet friendly policy a plus - paved trail behind the property great for walking the dog.

Nothing - all good.

It was very clean and well equipped. We had a balcony overlooking the garden. We had a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. It was very roomy and could sleep 4 with the pullout couch. Local's restaurant was right beside the hotel and their food is very good. The river runs beside the hotel and we had a lovely walk along the bank. They also have a nice spa. We would certainly stay again.

Fantastic stay in Courtenay! A great hotrl and a nice room! If we had wished the pool and hot tub were still open. Good parking and a restaurant very close by with excellent food! Beds were comfy and the room quiet and spacious. Very friendly people at the reception, too - thanks, Maria, for the recommendations!

No breakfast option in house (but got a great recommendation for "Hen and hog" which is close by and a good choice for breakfast).

I was having difficulty getting the electric charging station to work using the Charge Point app (it was not locating the hotel location) and did not have a credit card that would tap. Mohit was so fantastic - he offered to use his own personal credit card so that I could charge my car overnight. I etransfered him the money the next day, but this was above and beyond the call of duty and very much appreciated. My car was fully charged the next morning which was wonderful as I would not have made it to my next destination on the battery I had left.

We always enjoy staying here! The room was large and comfortable. It was nice to have the electric fireplace and tea and coffee making station. The seasonal treats (Christmas cookies and hot apple cider) in the lobby were an extra bonus. We liked the view of the river from our private deck and enjoyed seeing a bald eagle right outside our window. The room was exceptionally quiet and there was lots of parking right by the door.

Nothing. Everything was great!

The rooms are very large, comfortable and clean. I enjoyed the patio I had off of my room. The pool area was great. I was only there for one night, but these rooms would be wonderful for a longer stay. It was wonderful to have air conditioning!

When I asked if an early check in was possible, I was told that they could guarantee an earlier check in for $15. I have never been asked to pay for an early check in anywhere before so was quite surprised by this. As luck would have it my room was ready an hour early anyway. The staff were great.
