The Beacon Inn is a really gem, charming and well decorated property with incredible staff and free parking. My husband and I drove to Sydney, BC as part of our way to Vancouver, BC and ended up adding an extra night in the city to enjoy the great atmosphere and the impeccable Inn. Would definitely recommend!
There's nothing worth mentioning.

The Inn was close to the Sidney town center where the bus from the ferry dropped us off. We came in late after the desk had closed but had no problem getting in our room with the instructions provided. The staff was very helpful in the morning. Sidney was a cute, quiet little town.
The breakfast was just a couple of small packaged croissants and a couple of yogurt bars with coffee or tea.

great location. helpful.
while we ‘appreciated’ the close to room breakfast, we really missed having breakfast in the lovely dining room and meeting other guests. COVID is done, we can meet in person. that’s why we often pick a B n B to connect with other travellers to share stories and learn from others.

Our breakfast was delicious there was such a variety and the coffee was very good… The location was good because we were close to everything
Although this had nothing to do with where we stayed we just decided that when we come again we need to come on a Saturday because there were some shops that we really wanted to go in and we didn’t realize that some of them are closed Sunday and Monday….. But this did not hamper our stay there we loved every minute of our time in Sydney

This Inn was unexpectedly wonderful! The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. There was a decanter of Sherry in the room, which was such a nice touch. Toiletries supplied in the washroom (shampoo, conditioner, soap, bath crystals, shower cap, robes). The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast is available in the communal mini fridge in the hallway (which you can also use to store your own food) and it's placed there the night prior, so you can have it as early as you'd like in the morning. It's also very close to the airport, which was great as we had an early flight! We had such a lovely!
The Inn is only staffed until 8pm, so you have to arrive before then. Luckily this wasn't an issue for us.

The Beacon Inn was very nice. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. The bathroom was lovely with a bath and shower and nothing was amiss. Check in was simple and we were greeted by a vivacious friendly Portuguese woman. The parking area in the back was nice, but would be quite difficult for large vehicles. Our Subaru Forester fit fine. Would definitely come back here. Easy walking distance to the Main Street and waterfront.
We enjoyed pretty much everything with the hotel. Breakfast is fair, but is pre-made the night before and store in a fridge for your access the next morning. Nothing overly special, however, it was nice and was available for us when we needed to leave early the next morning (none of the “breakfast between such and such hours”).

The boutique atmosphere, the location, clean and a nice breakfast to eat at our leisure. We enjoyed walking around Sidney and the short walk to the beach. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
We would prefer a king bed but the queen was very comfortable. The a/c was noisy but needed

This is the second time we have stayed at the Beacon, and unfortunately each time has just been a quick overnight stay. We'd love to come back and stay for a few nights. Every detail was perfect, including the continental breakfast that was available for each room. With covid we could not have breakfast in the main lobby, as we did last time, but the alternative was well thought out. We especially loved the small bottle of sherry that was left in each room - that was a detail we never expected.
The coffee that was available in the room. Perhaps a pot of coffee could be made available in the main lobby for people who prefer that, rather than the little individual coffee brewers that tend to make disappointing coffee (in my opinion, although I know that some people really do like them).

Very relaxed environment. Did attend a wedding and arrieved late. As it turned out to be 11:30pm. No problem, front door is keyed and front desk (no one there) just leaves key and instructions to the room We actually stopped by before the wedding and had all the detail and room to stay at.
A little problem we did have a small hick up. No one mentioned that the door to our room is also monitored by the staff. However, it is also programmed to lock automatically after a short time. We went to the dining room for our breakfast and left the key in the room since both were on the main floor and close by. After breakfast we went back to the room and the door was locked. Had to wait for the staff to show up and open the door. Should have included a note to keep to keep the key in our possession at all time. Since staff may not be readily available could have been a small issue. In our case no big deal.
