This boutique hotel is a blast from the past. Funky stairwells, wide hallways and the character of the building is everywhere. For the price, this hotel was well worth a visit. The bed was comfy and the room was very clean. We had to ask for a kettle so we could make coffee in our room in the morning (we brought our own supplies - cups, coffee, cream & sugar. There's a Tim Hortons 1/2 a block away & a Cora's breakfast 2 doors down.

We had a King Suite. The carpet was not laid correctly and was a tripping hazard. Major rolls that kept catching. Since it was in the direct path to the washroom, it was a concern. Bathtub did not drain properly. As I took my shower I stood in a couple inches of water. Old building issue I think.

Old hotel with no elevator. Great staff. Fabulous location and excellent value for a solo traveller

Of course there is some noise as it is right on Robson street. I turned my AC unit on and used the fan as white noise to block out the city noise.

Absolutely fine stay for the price in Vancouver. Our room was very spacious and clean and comfortable, we stayed 2 nights but could have stayed more. I liked the architectural charm of the lobby area. Location was unbeatable. You can walk the entire CBD from here, so close to each coast and walkable to stanley park, 15 min. I think people with all the complaints of this property might be a bit fussy.

Might be nice to have a microwave and an iron in the room. Fan/aircon was quite noisy but couldn't hear with earplugs in. You do have to carry your bags up the stairs so if you can't do that, find a place with a lift.

First and foremost the room was clean and updated. A standard size room.Big enough for two.( It could possibly sleep three.I didn't check this but I'm thinking the small couch in the room was a single hide-a-bed.Dont quote me on that ) The room had a mini- fridge which was handy and had a large modernized shower.( No bathtub which was fine by us) If it had a microwave it would have been the bomb. Despite this, its still a real gem and the location is superb. At $116 taxes in it was an incredible deal. Even the crap hostels in the downtown were more expensive. We will definitely return at this price.. Do yourself a favor and book this place .You won't regret it.

I didn't like the mattress on the bed .I didn't find it that comfortable although my partner thought it was great.

excellent location easily reachable by the city centre skytrain stop. 15-20 min walk with suitcases through shopping area. The staff were excellent in accommodating us, even changing our room to one at the back as we were an older couple. easy walking distance to most city centre attractions and events. The hotel may be a little dated and worn but it is very clean with towels changed every day and sheets on bed made up each day. good wifi, lots of hot water day and night. It is not a posh hotel and really more an hotel for the budget conscious traveller that needs somewhere safe and clean..

I loved the charm of a hotel from a different era. Reminded me of something I'd seen in an Agatha Christie movie. Beautiful marble floors chandeliers art glass panels in the doors, and woodwork details. From a Time that was slower and more restful. Loved the location.

Sadly because it was of a different time the hotel was without a lift. I have mobility issues so it was quite a big deal for me. At the time the hotel was built we were not so paranoid about sound deadening properties so there was a little bit of noise. Certainly not sufficient to deter me from staying there.

Location is excellent and the price is very reasonable and affordable. The facilities are exceptionally clean and well-maintained and the staff are always very kind, friendly, and helpful. ❤ This is not a new and fancy hotel and that is a big reason why I love it so much. It has style and charm and though it is not "new", everything still works perfectly. Appropriate updates have obviously been implemented by the property management/building owners (thank you) to ensure the facilities are safe and healthy for human habitation. The washroom has been updated and there are no plumbing issues whatsoever; the water pressure and hot water supply are always excellent. The windows have been updated and the heat works great. The room stays nice and warm, which is super important because I'm always cold unless I am walking around or it's above 25°C/77°F, lol!

No concerns or complaints. Everything is beautiful inside and out, including the people that work there and manage and maintain the premises.

I thought the location was fantastic. Close to restaurants, Stanley park and hire bike shops as well as the station and port. The two different rooms we had two weeks apart were clean and comfortable. The first one was a suite, more expensive but very spacious. The staff were very helpful giving us maps of the area, recommending restaurants when we asked and allowing us to store our cases when we had checked out but allowing us to continue sight seeing.

It would be nice to have tea and coffee making facilities and even a fridge for cold drinks.

This is the perfect place for discovering the city of Vancouver - very central, Robson street has a vibrant culinary and night life setting, you can walk to all the central places in the city, plus Stanley park, the beaches and Canada place. The hotel staff was super welcoming and checked us in early, then stored our luggage until our flight time on the last day. Beds are comfortable, everything was clean, airco working well. Nothing to complain about really!

If you dont like the city noise, you might want to keep the windows shut. In the same time it is really fun to be able to watch the busy city life from your hotel window.

Pretty good value. The staff were great and it was very helpful being able to leave our bags at the desk the next day as we got breakfast and explored the city

At the end of the day $200+ dollars is pretty dang expensive for a tiny room that smells like an heritage library. There was no elevator and no breakfast (that we were informed of). The hallways were also VERY loud as people came back from the bars and clubs late at night. There was seemingly no sound dampening between the walls and doors.
