The room was super clean, 2 blocks from George st. where all the entertainment is. 2 blocks from the harbour. The BED WAS VERY VERY COMFY!! Support staff were excellent. For a couple or a single person this was a great choice. You are out most of the day anyway hiking on the amazing trails. Make sure you go to Petty harbour and eat at the seafood restaurant.

You have to pay for parking. It averages to about $25 for day and night. Make sure you park in the garage across the street over night. So if you stay here for this great price and location, you have to soak up the parking, but it is just across the street. You have to pay for parking in different zones in St. John's, just so you know. Coffee pot needed support. Go down the hill to the Jumping Bean or Tim Hortons for coffee

This inn is in a perfect location in St. John's right downtown. The room is basic but clean and the bed was very comfortable. Staff was onsite to help and friendly so when I didn't see the advance email I was supposed to get, they were able to let me in and sort things out. Overall, this room is perfect for a solo traveller looking for a good value stay right in the heart of the city.

A few things in the room are broken or old, such as the chairs with frayed edges and the broken window blinds. For those with a car, parking is tough (as the inn lets you know) but I was able to find a spot nearby.

Great location, very helpful and friendly staff, hands on owner and excellent value for the price. The food at Magnum and Steins was awesome and our bartender made some of the best drinks I have had. The highlight is their Kickin Chicken Burger; if want a good chicken burger drive right pass rotten ronnies and that Mary spot and head right to the bar/lounge at the Duckworth Hotel.

Our flight was delayed so we returned to the Duckworth Inn for another evening. The Inn is in close proximity to everything and yet quiet at night because it is just outside the busy area of George Street. All rooms are accessible by stairs on the upper levels. Magnum and Steins restaurant is on the main level and a bar and tables are also downstairs. We enjoyed a very nice meal. Many places have fish and chips and casual fare. At Magnum and Steins we had house made seafood pasta and also tried a special of 3 dishes paired with wines. All very good and a nice way to celebrate a special evening. The taxi is about $30-35 from the airport to the Inn.

Room: Clean, temperature-controlled ok, appliances are welcomed, bed comfortable, bathroom clean and functional. Room wifi ok. Parking: Did not have a car. Location: Excellent for exploring the old city on foot, took the bus to Quidi Vidi village, took a taxi to Signal Hill. Josephine (the hotel manager) was very welcoming. She stored our luggage when we had checked out already (late flight for us).

No complaint. Best value for money because of its central location. Entrance door security code for entry is well thought of. The hotel has no reception desk, but Josephine was very prompt in replying to my queries (via email).

Location. Close to George, close to the Rooms, close to many pubs and eateries. Generally a quiet street, mostly other guests and patrons of Magnum and Stein's around. While part of the inner core of a city, with the attendant graffiti and such, it felt safe to go out for a cigarette or a short walk around the neighborhood looking for photos...

The last minute nature of getting the check-in information, may trigger your OCD. Travelling around The Rock was brilliant, but it kind of nagged on the brain that I didn't have my check in information.... Running out of coffee on day two, not so great, but we just grabbed some from the convenience store on Queen's Road and soldiered on.

Amazing location in walking distance of everything in this amazing town. Big comfy bed. For an old building, I was surprised how clean and modern the room was. I would stay here for every visit to st johns in the future .

Air conditioner was a window one, so if I wanted my curtains closed, I was out of luck with cooling. And it got hot at night. A lot of instructions to read both before check in and after. Make sure you read the emails!

I loved the location and the rooms were beautiful and comfortable. My only complaint was dragging my luggage up and down 3 flights of stairs without assistance from the absentee staff. It's a self-serve inn You,'re on your own..big luggage can be a pain going up 3 flights of twisting stairwells. Still would recommend Duckwork Inn. All in all, I still did like the place. Just don't bring a 28" suitcase or expect help from the lackadaisical, non-existent staff,

Probably with help bringing my suitcase up the stairs. That was my main stress. Some people did try to be helpful but it was random.

The room was very clean, the bathroom was spacious and the shower was great. The location was very close to everything for walking.

The hotel warns you about the noises from downtown which are out of their control. You do hear a lot of noise from the restaurant and traffic outside. My one complaint would be the other guests slamming their doors regardless of the time of day. Rude of them.

Quaint comfortable room. Ease of check in and proximity to downtown. Loved the historical feel of the building.

It is not a dislike as such, but a bit of inconvenience when a person has difficulty with stairs. Obvious signs of the age of the building and a bit of concern regarding the security of entry. We were unable to find the entry code to enter but another couple who were arriving , were kind enough to give it to us. This is probably not ideal and could potentially be a risk to the safety of the Inn, but otherwise we were pleased with our stay. We did not encounter any staff during our stay.
