Spacious, luxurious, felt very different than a hotel room. There was a mini fridge and microwave we didn’t expect so that was nice. The location was excellent and we were able to secure free parking across the street every night but we were also not in tourist season. There was a common area in the basement with a few dishes, kettles and toaster and a table for 6 I think. Nice place to socialize or play games. Getting in was easy with code so no restrictions, lots of privacy. Beds and pillows were comfy. Email communication was effective, they were very responsive and helpful.

Bedding was thin but I’m sure they had more quilts if we had asked but we travelled with our own. There is no elevator so be prepared for stairs or ask for unit 1 or 2. Getting to the basement common room means more stairs and the stair way down is pretty narrow, other stairs (to rooms) was nice and wide. There is no creamer or coffee mate for coffee and no microwave downstairs which we found weird since they supplied dishes. Coffee is instant but that is very common in NFLD. Our room had a smaller tub, really only a shower unless you are petite.

The guesthouse was great for the price. The location is was good. The building felt authentic to the downtown area. It was easy to contact the caretaker of the building. The view from the room was great. It was close to a number of good restaurants in the downtown area.

The dated fixtures like shower heads and faucets could easily be fixed or upgraded but were still ok. Getting snowed in the free parking area had my rental trapped for 2 days. This could be avoided by not travelling during snowy season.

The place was OK the rooms and beds was good.atleast the location was OK good staff I like them.

We had dirty cloth for 2weeks we could not do laundry.atleast they should provide gas and cooking utensil for people staying long..some people like hoke made food sometimes..it should be like a home..anybody want to buy grocery and make good should.or atleast the facilities should arrange for meals so their guest don't always need to find food and guest also needs laundry too put all of this in place.there was little amount of duvet and bed covers

I enjoyed my stay overall. I got a homey feel from the room I got on the third floor. The view from my window was really pretty. I liked that the room came with a fridge and microwave and coffee/ tea supplies. The communication with the staff over email was quick to respond.

Wifi is awful. It kept going in and out a lot. The room I got didn’t look like the pictures. No mirror. No fireplace. There were stains on some pillows.

I liked the clean room. The staff was very friendly and helpful and answered any issues promptly. I admired the staff's smiles and humor. The room was well maintained, warm and comfortable.

The refrigerator could have been a little larger and a little larger freezer. I was watching TV on Prime and before my shows had ended, it said the Prime subscription was had expired,

Excellent location with good walkability if you can handle hills. Nice staff who responded in a timely manner to an email question. Clean, quiet, charming, and lots of instant coffee!

The air conditioner in our room (6) was angled forward and there was a puddle of water on the window sill and floor when we arrived. Used a towel to sop it up. This needs to be addressed to ward off water damage. This is more a helpful tip for the business rather than a "didn't like".

We chose the Abba Inn based on its reasonable price compared to most of the other hotel chains and boutique hotels. The location was very good, a short 5-10 minute walk to pretty much everything. Parking was easier than we expected and we had no trouble finding a nearby free parking space (this was June-might be different in high season). Check in was simple - they left an envelope in the foyer with key & instructions. The breakfast options were decent - coffee/tea, cereal, yogurt, toast/jams/peanut butter and pastries. It is "serve yourself" in small common room - nothing fancy but it served its purpose. We also appreciated having access to the microwave/plates/cutlery during the day as we had leftovers from a restaurant and we were able to reheat it for lunch. There is a small fridge in the room - no coffee maker or kettle. The bed was soft but surprisingly comfortable. Good towels, hair dryer and soap/shampoo were supplied. Everything was clean.

As others have said, some of the rooms do not have any view whatsoever - we faced a brick wall. However, since we were aware of this possibility, it was not a surprise and we just kept the blind closed. We were on the main floor but some of the rooms are on the third floor and it looked like a lot of steps. The room is very dated, although it had a high ceiling and was fairly large. The pedestal sink in the bathroom looked like it should be replaced and the furniture is all mismatched and random. However, I still feel the Abba Inn is a good choice If you are looking for a reasonably priced option in St. John's and don't mind some dated aesthetics.

The location was perfect. Close to a variety of things. Loved that I could watch Netflix. The view was beautiful. I wasn't made aware of the breakfast so not sure about that. They had microwave, fridge, kettle available to eat at the inn so I didn't have to buy all my meals out. I love how they do check-in, it was easy and the information very helpful.

Would have liked to of been given information on the breakfast. I assumed it wasn't available as there was nothing in the letter about it. The place could have used a vacuum. I work out so I was excited that there was enough space in my room until I realized it needed to be vacuumed. Everything else was clean though.

The property was fantastic. And the view was the best

There was only one thing I didn't like, and that was the paying part at the start. Double billed through two companies. Booking.com took my money and then the owner took my money through his company. I've never had to do that via Booking.com before. Unfortunately I would not recommend this property because of this process. Sorry.
