The breakfast was fine. Yogurt, muffins, coffee, fruit, granola bars. Clean & tidy. The location was FANTASTIC! Right in the middle of the tourist area with entrance onto Water Street with restaurants, shops, tour headquarters, etc. This was the main reason we chose this hotel.

The bed pillows were huge, lumpy and made of chipped foam. Ugh! I was on a trip to St. John's with my 14-year-old granddaughter. The suite we got might have been a honeymoon suite and that required a bit of adjustment on our part. There were glass walls from the sitting area into the bathtub area and also into the bedroom. Hmmm! But we managed. Didn't feel the need to complain or to request a change.

The building was beautiful and the room was very attractive, clean, and comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. The lobby was nicely decorated, as were the rooms. Very nice bathrooms (with heated towel racks, and a whirlpool tub), and lovely furnishings.

The a/c in our room was not working well at all, so we had to open our windows, which was hot for the first few hours of trying to sleep, but better when things cooled down. The weather was unseasonably hot, apparently. We should have let the staff know, but we figured that was a big job that probably couldn't be fixed quickly or easily, so we didn't say anything (our fault). Although there were many lamps in the room, it was still very dark, difficult to see anything, except in the bathroom.

I saw breakfast included, and booked the room. I did not read details about the breakfast. Later got to know that " it is pick and go" breakfast. Every breakfast item is wrapped up for convenience. There is fruit, yogurt and juice. Tea & Coffee station is available throughout the day. It was nice, I liked it. The breakfast room is cozy and charming. The Hotel stay was good, the young staff were helpful. The room were clean, phone attendees was very helpful. I was given the 4th floor attic kind of room, the elevator goes to the 3rd floor. The room was charming, had a good view, slanted roof, a beautiful spa tub, cozy bed, tea & Coffee station, TV and room furniture. There is a towel.and face towel warming station. Lotion, hand soap, bath gel, shampoo and conditioner in large wall mounted dispensers, that was very helpful. The is a hairdryer provided in the washroom, but there isn't any free socket to plug in any device, ie I couldn't connect my hair straighter. There is Alexa device on the bedside with a list of several written commands, it was very helpful. Wifi password was provided. All the young staff was very helpful and friendly only the older lady during check in, was not friendly. But I would not rate the experience as bad, because of her. Maybe she needs more training. I was a solo traveller, I felt safe and I enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

The room carpet did not look clean, would need thorough cleaning. As I have asthma, and sensitive to dust these things trigger an attack. The 4th floor corridor, where my room was allocated would need more decor, it looked bare with dim lighting as if forgotten to transition the foyer charm here. It looked spooky scary at night. A electrical outlet should be provided in the washroom and also on the bedside table to connect our personal devices. There was only one visble outlet on other side of the bed that outlet was connected to the fridge and lamp. On the booking portal "on the go breakfast", should be mentioned instead of just "breakfast included". Their official browser has clear details.

Great location. Very nice rooms. Decor throughout was well done with exposed beams etc.

Paper thin walls. I could hear clearly what our neighbors were saying. I heard a can of pop or beer being opened. My wife went to the front desk and was simply dismissed by the manager on duty. She said it was an old building. She also brushed it off as loud neighbors. They were talking normally. We've stayed in many places. Some hundreds of years old. NEVER had this problem. We insisted she come and listen. She did and only then offered another room. It only had one wall adjacent, to a neighboring room being a top floor corner suite. So it was quieter .Her demeanor and attitude was unpleasant.

An excellent place to stay in an authentic historical building! Pretty much at the heart of St. Johns and all the restaurants and bars are at a walkable distance. Rooms are spacious and fancy with the original wooden beams visible in the rooms. Would defiantly stay here should I visit St. Johns again!

Not anything bad really, but do note that this is a historic building and though they have elevators, some rooms do require you to go up a few steps. The room I stayed some places on the floor were uneven - but again this is a historic building so it's acceptable. I liked it very much, but breakfast isn't anything fancy and just some muffins, instant oatmeals, yogurt, coffee, etc., so don't expect a full breakfast.

Big spacious room. Very comfortable bed.

Continental breakfast. No options for any bread except for muffins. No croissants or other pastries. No options for toast or cold cereal. No protein options such as eggs or cheese. I have stayed at the Murray Premises hotel in the past and the breakfast was much more substantial. It was actually served in one of the room/salons. The room we stayed in was 202 and there is a telephone on the bathroom wall, which really needs to be cleaned or tossed. However, a very nice stay and we were able to get a room closer to the elevator. We will definitely stay there again.

This property was outstanding and the location in a historic building right on the water front was beyond words. The staff was extremely helpful and even offered assistance with our luggage as our room was in the fourth floor and required using the stairs from the third floor where the elevator ended. The rooms took advantage of the wonderful gabled roof and created a cozy atmosphere. The bathrooms were modern and they even had electric fireplaces in the rooms. One block to Water Street and 2 to George Street. The beds and bedding were well above the average for a city hotel. There was also plenty of free parking on site for guests.

The breakfast was limited to muffins and yogurt along with beverages. The sitting area was small for the size of the property with only a few tables so could be crowded at times.

The staff were so welcoming, the room was lovely and warm with a great view of Signal Hill, and the location was excellent. I'd absolutely stay again. Just a lovely historical boutique hotel.

No USB plugs so couldn't charge anything (but to be honest, our converters were buried in our bags). The only real complaint was the amount of single use plastics. Breakfast was full of little milk containers, disposable cups, and plastic spoons. I was really disappointed at the lack of environmental awareness other than a fountain to fill your water bottles

Clean & good location by water front and easy to walk to shops and restaurants plus parking was by the property.

The breakfast choices were muffins, croissants, cereal, coffee but no warm options. We ended up eating elsewhere which added to our already high costs. Our room was on the 4th floor at the far end. The elevator only goes to the 3rd floor. Did have assistance carrying one bag but no assistance when we left.

The Murray Premises Hotel is in a great location right in the centre of St John’s and has free parking. The room was spacious and full of character but we found the room really, really dark - we had to use a torch to read!

Our room needed better lighting - way too dark Breakfast was underwhelming and involved so much waste - everything was either wrapped in plastic or disposable - had to eat out of a paper cup
