Helpful staff, good sized room, iron and ironing board as well as good hot water, large bed reasonably spacious room, parking at hotel and useful fridge! Fresh towels every day!

Bananas and apples ran out after first morning, otherwise breakfast was self service and ok! Could be less generous with the towels-I suggest you tell guests to leave dirty towels on the floor to save washing unnecessarily. Prefer to avoid disposables eg paper cups and plastic cutlery-more environmentally friendly. Also would like natural yogurt and fresh fruit at breakfast. Canada is famous for blueberries-we bought our own!

This location of this hotel is absolutely perfect! It’s a stone throw from the highway, shopping, cinemas, restaurants and only a short drive to downtown. What I liked best about the location is if you’re not an experienced highway driver, which can be scary, you can avoid them completely simply by turning right instead of left when leaving their parking lot. Within three minutes, driving along a slower-paced two lane road, you land among an array of everything you could possibly need. And absolutely no need to worry about taking a wrong turn and ending up on the highway! The staff were SO friendly and helpful. Very easy to talk to; made check-in swift; helped with directions; and even suggested movies we might like from our preferred genre (they have a DVD library). The room was VERY clean. I suffer with serious allergies and had no reactions at all. The king bed mattress wasn’t outdated, slouched or too hard/soft. Goldielocks would approve! Breakfast was great, not just boring carb heavy choices. The dining room was being restocked and cleaned while we were eating. We’ll definitely be back to this hotel whenever we have to travel to the IWK. Thank you!

The room with the swimming pool was very hot. It was a warm day out so we looked forward to taking a refreshing dip but we turned straight around the second we opened the doors leading in.

I like how spacious the room and the bathroom were. It was clean and well kept.

I booked my room through Booking.com and requested a ground floor room, which wasn't an issue, but then we were charged $40 extra for that request. They have to take into consideration that people have health issues and the ground floor is more convenient to them. We stayed at 3 difference hotels with the same request during the week and we weren't charged extra in the other places. Then we got charged $25 for our little dog, so it became quite pricey for a one night stay with no breakfast included. Also, next to us, outside, there were a couple of guys in their car blasting their music while smoking dope and drinking in the car and I guess the driver was sleeping in his car all night as he was still parked there in the morning. So it wasn't a very quiet night unfortunately.

There were a few Gluten-free breakfast options (baked beans, boiled eggs, fruit, yoghurt). I am keto so could only eat the boiled eggs but I was glad they were there. They had paprika (along with salt and pepper) for the eggs which was a nice touch. Wish more hotels and restaurants would find ways to do more truly keto items as many people are on the diet for health reasons (not just a personal choice); many guests will be looking for these items. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. Location was very convenient.

I had asked about breakfast (eggs/meat) ahead of my arrival and never heard back from the hotel ... I wasn't sure going if I would be able to eat anything at breakfast so it would have been nice to know ahead of time.

Clean / comfortable beds / room nicely renovated / suites available, giving us space to meet with travelling partners to plan our days in Halifax / lots of restaurants in reasonable driving distance / location provided relatively fast & easy route to Halifax habour / nice to gave breakfast provided / staff was very friendly

Wooden furniture is quite worn looking / not all rooms have been renovated / breakfast person didn’t show up to work one morning so front desk clerk had to try to manage two jobs

The person on the front desk was excellent! I'm terrible with names, so hers eludes me, but she went above and beyond when it comes to being friendly, professional, and accommodating.

We've been staying at the Coastal Inn - Bayer's Lake for years. I'd say, 20 or more. We have always found the staff to be friendly, it's a great family environment, and the location is good for our purposes. That said, the hotel, or at least some of the rooms, are becoming dated. Always clean, but just looking a bit worn-out.

Very clean stayed in a newly renovated room. Check in was quick

Had an all day rain 80+mm. Booked this hotel for the pool so that we could have a relaxing day between travel days and get out of the rain. When checking in asked about pool hours and was told pool was closed for two days. Wish something had been posted notifying guests about it…. Would have booked a different hotel

Friendly and very helpful staff. Strong WIFI. Great working area. An onsite washer and dryer for the convenience of guests to do their own laundry. This is a fantastic feature and all hotels should consider providing this facility. Quick and efficient response from maintenance when required. Great parking. Access to downtown is fairly easy. Vending machines in the lobby.

We didn't really take full advantage of the breakfast because we like to have some warm things like scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage. Access to downtown is fairly direct, but still requires about a 20-25 minute drive.

Nice pool and good size room for our family of 3.

We stayed for 3 nights and had no maid service the 1st day. When I went out to dispose of our garbage, grab some fresh towels and more coffee pods, the employee I talked to asked of there was anything else we needed and when I said no, I guess I've got it, said great I'll mark your room off as serviced. I think they were short on maid staff that day, but still could have been handled better I think.

Very quiet. Nice lobby area with 24 hour tea/coffee service (complimentary). Room was comfortable and had a window that could be opened, which was wonderful for someone like me who enjoys sleeping with fresh air, regardless of the temperature. Room had coffee machine, small fridge and microwave.

The lights between the beds wouldn't turn on---front desk told me upon checkout that the switch should be turned the opposite way. Actually, I had tried that but perhaps a note needs to be left near the lighting to allow others to access it.
