I like everything about the property.

as lovely as the room and setup is for breakfast, the actual breakfast and coffee leave a great deal to be desired. the coffee continues to be so mediocre and for people like me who are not big egg and bacon fanatics, there’s little to choose from. no decent bread, no croissants, and the jam on offer, if you make toast in the antediluvian toaster, is embarrassing. little plastic containers of what looks like hard old strawberry jam. there is no shortage of excellent bakeries in Kingston, so it’s a shame, especially for any European guests.

Not what I expected. I thought it would be like some motels and get cold cereal, muffins, toast etc. We were extremely surprised and happy that it was a pretty full hot breakfast served. Hot and delicious.

When we arrived at Donald Gordon Hotel and Convention Centre, we noticed a big door. Thought that would be the door to enter. Sign on door said “use other door”. Walked around to an area and sign stated “staff only”. We then walked around to the other side of the building that had glass doors. They were “the other doors”. A sign needs to be erected at the start of parking lot stating where “the other doors are”. It was 35 c and very hot and humid. Would of saved some steps as well as sweat.

This property has an outstanding quality to price ratio as compared to other hotels in Kingston. It includes a better than average breakfast. The room was very clean, well appointed and I had an enjoyable and quiet stay. All staffers helpful, friendly and professional. I like the location which is close enough to Queen's University and downtown by foot/ bus but away from any downtown noise. There is also free parking which is not available downtown. I also used the fitness room. I also got a late checkout ( 2 pm) without extra charge

I have no real complaints. Although the breakfast is better than average with a good amount of variety perhaps some hard cheeses could be added .

There's not a complicated pathway, from parking lot to entrance and from the entrance to a room. Almost everywhere no need to use the elevator. The room I stayed in was clean. And breakfast was so much better than I expected. All the staff were comfortable.

The facilities were not as good as I saw in the reviews. The soundproofing was not good, so I could hear the footsteps of the people upstairs very clearly. I couldn't open the curtains outside the window, which wasn't my room's view, because it was the person living in front's yard.

The conference center as a whole was beautiful and clean and very spacious--lots of public rooms and areas to enjoy, and even a courtyard with beautiful trees and tables and chairs. My room was extremely clean and well-put-together and quiet, even though it overlooked the large parking lot (but there was a tree outside the window so it was still beautiful and private). Staff was extremely kind and friendly and helpful, and the free breakfast exceeded my expectations--they had lots to choose from, and labeled all of the choices food people with food allergies (which I greatly appreciated). Even though the price for one room for one person for one night was a little high (but on-par with the prices of everything these days), everything was perfect and I'd be very happy to choose this hotel again.

A very complete breakfast buffet, with excellent service. Exceeded our expectations. Very good location to explore the Kingston Pen and Museum, and a short drive downtown.

I understand and support their commitment and decision not to supply bottled plastic, but it would be nice to have brought a metal container to fill up from the water dispenser downstairs on our way to the room.

The room was clean. Comfortable bed. I enjoyed the Juliet balcony looking into the courtyard. I also sat outside in the courtyard in the morning. There was many areas to sit and lounge by a fireplace or piano throughout the building. The morning breakfast had a very impressive selection. I enjoyed having a big meal to start the day of sightseeing. Loved having a full length mirror and light above it. Attention to detail from shoe shine, extra comforter in the closet, shower cap and night light in the bathroom was greatly appreciated.

Although the bathroom was very clean, it was small and outdated (70's tile). The hallways in the new addition were very spongy and creaky. This caused alot of noise (even under carpet). You can hear people coming down the hall or even above to the other floors. If you're a light sleeper, this can prove to be very frustrating.

The rooms are big, clean, and comfortable. The staff are the nicest. They would ask to help you with carrying your stuff not only your luggage but also your shopping bags. There was a super kind lady at the front desk, named Stephanie, who helped me so much for arranging an early check-in. Also my check out was rushed and I had to leave my heavy luggage in the storage room but she helped so much with the luggage and everything all along and accomodated my needs. The staff at the restaurant are super nice too. They would bring you big delicious breakfast and do everything they can to make your experience extraordinary!! This hotel gives you the experience of a 5-star hotel although it is a 3-star. I live in Kingston now but I definitely love to go back every once in awhile just to re-experience all this!!

Everything was really amazing!! Nothing could be better!!

Very clean and comfy. Hotel staff was great.

Wi-Fi didn’t work in the bedroom, only at the room entrance. Hotel signs indicated a pub, but when we went there to check it out, the bartender was not so kind telling us that there was a private event happening and if we needed anything we could call for room service. But, we wouldn’t be entering there if there was any sign stating that it was a private event.

Each and every employee was great. The room was well appointed with a minifridge, coffee maker, good TV, very comfortable bed, lounge chair, desk with desk chair, good bathroom with sufficient towels, toiletries etc. Breakfast Buffet was outstanding and well above the norm as compared to most Canadian hotels. This is not a standard hotel but more of a conference centre owned by Queen's University. I liked the ambience and everyone was in a great mood

There was nothing major. My room was close to an elevator and there often was a ringing sound. I spoke with front desk who advised they were aware of the problem and will try to get fixed ASAP. She also mentioned to me that in the future possibly I could be put in a more quiet area on the 4th floor. Wifi cut out quite often so I had to reset.
