I initially stayed in the Mercure for a couple of nights. To recover from an overnight long haul flight from Europe and to find my feet before flying south to Patagonia. For this it worked well. It is comfortable, value for money and has a great location. I subsequently had to return unscheduled to Santiago for emergency medical care and I spent a couple of weeks at the Mercure while attending hospital for scans, tests and doctors appointments. I had a major operation and was in hospital for a few days. I then returned to the Mercure to recover. In this time I got to know it well and I can only speak highly of it. The reception staff speak good English and are very helpful. They were happy to informally offer me any additional assistance I needed after my operation. For a longer stay the location is superb. 50m from the main Metro Line. The city centre is an easy walk. A bike rental station across the road. Main East/West and North/South bus routes pass the door. You can call an Uber including to the Airport. Which is probably the cheapest option other than the Airport bus.

The pool on the 5th floor roof is fantastic with beautiful views. And the bartender, Cristobal, at the pool bar is wonderful! All the staff in the hotel are super nice and helpful. And my room on the 15th floor felt luxurious and had a great view. I also really appreciated that the hotel staff sent a letter around to everyone about potentially violent protests that could break out on the main road in front of the hotel on a scheduled day of protest. I had a flight to catch on the day of the protests and the staff were really helpful in giving me advice and direction to ensure I made my flight.

The underground car park is 100 metres before the hotel entrance around the corner. it is a one way system so you have to navigate many city blocks to get back to it also, there is no pull in to unload, you are on a 10 lane highway. you need to drop off passengers and bags then work your way around to the car park on Avenida Santa Rosa. The hotel entrance is surrounded by shops, and obscured by trees, even with the Satnav telling you that you have arrived, the entrance I does not stand out clearly.

The hotel is conveniently located right next to the Santa Lucia metro station and walkable to the Centro district (Plaza de Armas, La Moneda Palace) and Lasterria and Santa Lucia hill etc. The hotel is well maintained and the staff is friendly. The rooms are spacious, modern, and well-appointed.

The bed was quite hard and the pillows were flat making it uncomfortable. However, we asked for and were provided with additional pillows, which made it a little better. Initially, we didn't have a towel for outside the shower so had to use one of the bath towels so as not to slip. The second day it was replaced. The cleaning staff did not remove our dirty coffee cups or wipe the bathroom counter down after the first day. They also didn't replace the coffee packets, so had to go to the front desk to get some more. None of these things were deal breakers...just minor inconveniences. Of more concern was that the internet worked only intermittently, which was frustrating.

The room was clean and comfortable. Our window had nice views to the city and the cerro Santa Lucía! The staff was super friendly and helped us book a tour to visit Valparaiso. The location is great if you want to walk downtown and visit the cerros, however at night the streets can look a bit sketchy, although we didn’t have any problems moving around

There isn’t a common space to work from outside of the bedrooms, this could be a nice addition to the amenities

Clean, modern, effective hotel in the heart of Santiago. Easy access to the tube and attractions like Plaza des Arms. Front desk staff speak English well enough to help.

Nothing - it's a nice chain hotel. We were a bit confused by them holding $180 on our card on check in then refunding the difference to our room rate on checkout but I think that was more from us not speaking Spanish. Breakfast cost is a bit steep as there's lots of coffee shops nearby so we did that instead.

Laundry service was unavailable at the weekend, despite me being informed by the concierge/reception the previous day (on a Friday morning) that the laundry was indeed operational over the coming days. They offered a business card for a local laundrette, but this did not suit my schedule due to their limited opening hours. I would expect a 4 star hotel to ffer laundry facilities 24/7/365.

We liked our spacious room and breakfast was also very nice. One particular member of staff was exceptional delivering his duties. Name? Gone from the head - that one that spoke Italian and had lived and worked in Milan. The hotel is very well located to Santiago attractions and near a underground/Metro station.

Mercure Santiago Centro is starting to look its age. Still however very good and reliable.

The location was great for us, the subway was just next to the hotel and hotel is near Lastarria area and cerro Santa Lucia is just across the road, Bellavista is also only a short walk distance away. We loved the room and the breakfast. Also the pool and its area. Most of the staff was very friendly attentive and polite. Wifi worked great. I think this hotel really is great value for money.

The pool season suddenly got over when April started. Wish we would have known that in advance. One of the staff in the breakfast crew didn't make us feel very welcomed. He was watching us like hawk just staring - we felt really uncomfortable. Each time we felt relieved when he wasn't there serving that morning. He also kept the signs describing the meals to his side, and wasn't very keen on giving the info out what was in the warmer pans. The hotel however is located in the area where there are constant protests. We were there I think for 10 days, and the traffic and everything around was closed for three times during that time. They also close the main entrance of the hotel, so i think that should be taken into account, when arriving for the very first time.

Great location and beautiful room. I am glad breakfast was included with the purchase of the room as there were many vegan options which I really appreciated! Staff upon check-in were welcoming and the process was easy.

The housecleaning staff threw out food/snacks I had left in the corner of one of the counters under my backpack and other bags. It was clear I wanted to keep these items so it was frustrating coming back to the room, hungry, and finding my food had been thrown out. Staff at check-out had unnecessary attitude.
