The hotel is charming, located in a very quiete and peaceful location, walking distance from the Reed Flute caves and a short taxi ride to the town centre. Since we were staying 2 nights, they picked us up from the train station which was very helpful. The room and washroom we stayed in was very clean and well furnished. We are very impressed by the owner's hospitality and generosity. When we arrived there, we were welcome with smiles, oranges and tea. They offer assistance with tours in the region and transportation. We must mention two things that we are grateful that the hotel has exceptional quality for its services. First, we asked if it was possible to reduce our stay by one day, the owner had no hesitation to accept our change. Second, as we left early from the hotel room in a rush we forgot two personal items in the room. The owner contacted us right away and arranged the delivery our items to our new location more than an hour away. We highly rate and recommend this hotel.

Nestled in a charming ancient village amid the bustling post-industrial city of Guilin, this small and bucolic hotel stands out. The rooms are an absolute delight—comfortable and tastefully decorated. The owner and his mum efficiently manage the place. His tremendous help elevated our trip to another level, giving us precious recommendations and smoothing out the bumps along the way. As road to Chinese countryside/2nd tiers-city tourism can be really though and bumpy sometimes.

The room is a bit small, but not to the point of feeling any discomfort. For the price I didn't except any bigger anyway. The views could be great with the surroundings, but it's spoiled by this big parking and close buildings all around.

The location of this hotel is well situated on the outskirts of Guilin city. It has several attractions within a walkable distance, such as Reed Flute Cave, but it is also a drivable within an hour and a half to major tourist sites like Longji rice terraces to the north and Yangshou county to the south. It is also within a cozy village, and we explored the local restaurants in the first day. The friendly owner of the establishment went above and beyond in service, responded through text quickly to arrange private tours to the places we wanted to go. We were picked up from the train station when we arrived at Guilin and transported back at the end of the trip. Breakfast options range from homemade local guilin rice noodles with fruit to a more western style option if preferred. Bed was comfortable with working wifi and AC. I was expecially impressed by the small things, how when we came back from a long day of touring the owner would always have fresh fruit waiting for us, how the towels and complimentary water would be refilled and waiting for us on our return, and how we were given a bag with snacks and other items for our trip home. If you are looking for a relaxed, local experience with good service that serves as a base to set off to see all Guilin has to offer, then I can't recommend this place enough.

The owner Xiaoming was Fantastic. Very helpful, clear and he will do anything to make your stay comfortable. The place has E-bikes for guests staying there and it was the highlight for my kids. They even had kids e-bike. You can ride the e-bike around the compound safely and there is a nice bike path for you to go on as well to nearby places like the flute cave. Laundry was included and very convenient. Breakfast was nice and you can always ask him to prepare something different. Top notch service and gave him a good tip for his marvellous service.

The room were comfortable however there were small items which needed fixing which he fixed it immediately when I told him. Fresh towels and clean service. The heater in the rooms weren’t strong enough during winter so it was quite cold during the night for my comfort.

Secret courtyard resort hotel was perfect for us to relax and rejuvenate away from bustling city life for a bit. The combination of its beautiful courtyard,comfortable room, excellent service, and convenient location make it ideal choice for anyone visiting Guilin.The staff were some of the friendliest and most helpful I’ve encountered during my travels. Xiao Ming went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable, providing recommendations for local restaurants and attractions. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and authentic experience in this stunning city.

Xiao Ming will take care of you for your trip. He will ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible. The villa is located in a small village on the outskirts of Guilin. The village appears to have focused on tourism with quite a few hotels and inns in the village and a large restaurant with a wild outdoor garden. Jump on the provided electric scooters and ride the shared path to the quite impressive reed flute cave or brave the streets (quite organised for scooters with dedicated lanes and power of numbers) to visit the city. I would if you have a few days take a day trip down the Li river to Yangshou, especially if the weather is good.

To our surprise, the hotel was just across from our hotel the day earlier and it is at the same group management. The room is comfortable, but since we were at another hotel earlier this room was smaller compared with the spacious large room with a better view. We had warm air-conditioning which comforted us the moment we entered the room since it was winter and we were not prepared with warmer clothes. The location was just the same as Serene Vale Inn since they were in one courtyard together as a family business. It has a restaurant where we had our breakfast . It serves lunch and dinner also.

Everything is just good, no complaints, we have a free shuttle service to the train station which was rather early I left at about 5 am to catch our next destination, the early train for my 11-hour journey to Lijiang and to our surprise at 5 am the car came and at the reception we had 2 bags of breakfast to brought to the train. For all this nice hospitality surely there is nothing I dislike.

The hotel is set at the most gorgeous location, views of the mountains, many restaurants nearby. The host (Siau Ming) was super hospitable - he helped us with our bags to the room, had fresh iced Osmanthus sour plum tea for us at arrival and when we were back, he even packed some crossaint/biscuits for us to go. Breakfast was either bread with passion fruit jam & butter or guilin noodles (so good), served with mango and coffee. He was very attentive to our needs. The rooms are as gorgeous as depicted in their pictures. 5 star quality with a homely Chinoiserie design. Laundry was free - we just had to put our laundry in the basket in the morning and it would be ready in the evening. Appreciated in the 38C weather. The stay at Secret Courtyard made Guilin an enjoyable and memorable experience.

We came to Guilin by train and we had a free pick-up from train station to the hotel. Xiaoming greeted us with fresh fruits and tea, we came an hour or so earlier but that was no problem. The room was spacious and beautiful with sitting area for drinking tea by the all glass wall/windows. Xiaoming is very helpful and kind person, he lets you have an e-scooter for free to go to the city, Reed flute cave or wherever you want. The Reed flute cave is 20 minutes walk from the hotel and the hotel is like a small village of accomodarion villas outside of the Guilin but close by car or e-scooter. The breakfast is very tasty with chinese and western style cuisine. They offer tours around Guilin like Li river cruise, Longji rice terraces tour or Yangshuo river rafting among others. We took two tours for each day and our guide/driver was Qin who is actually a great guy. He showed us around and was very patient with us especially when we went hiking on a Longji rice terraces. Guilin and surroundig area are the most beautiful we have seen in China so far. I will look forward to return to this place and experience again the hospitality of Xiaoming and hang around with our tour guide Qin.

This is a lovely hotel where the hosts helped us feel relaxed and at home from the start. The property is in a perfect spot to enjoy the terrain - not far from Guilin, but tucked away from the city in a quiet holiday village that has a few fantastic restaurants and beautiful walks and cycle paths all around. I stayed a whole week and would have happily stayed a month! Armed with WeChat and translation apps, we could communicate well with our very helpful host. He fed us good breakfasts, arranged a long-distance taxi when we got stuck one night in Yangshuo, and even sent me to his very good dentist when I had a toothache. I will send friends there and come back!
