We were upgraded so it was a great surprise! The room was spacious, calm, clean and had a balcony. The breakfast did not have a very big offer of Western things but the Chinese one was excellent and vast. The reception staff was very friendly and helped us whenever needed.

The heating did not really work and therefore we felt it was a bit cold at some points, plus the Wifi did not always work but besides that, everything was great. However, we wouldn't recommend visiting the restaurant of the hotel. We found the staff there unfriendly and the food very expensive for what it finally was.

Absolutely great location, very central yet quiet in the middle of the busiest district in Shanghai. Tube station is 2 mins away and easy to travel to the airport and the main train station. The room we stayed is massive considering the central location. Staffs are exceptionally professional and friendly! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Yangtze! Thank you very much!

Fantastic location! Very stylish beautifully decorated hotel. Well organized bathroom with separated toilet area! Comfortable bed, Quality amenities. Nice and client friendly personal!

All was just fine!

I stayed for the seveth time at this hotel and first time after China reopened for business and it is as great as ever. The staff is frindly and at the reception English is not an issue, the hotel is perfectly located in the center of Shanghai, very close to the metro station, there are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity, and it is overall reasonably priced.

Noisy neighbors, but that has nothing to do with the hotel.

aircon was not the most efficient, i recommend leaving the card in the slot keep it running during summer. my shower room only had curtain which means the water tend to splash out towards the toilet, this was quite annoying

Everything was great,literally everything.I took Art Deco Double room and I got 3rd floor with street view and balcony,which was my request.Stuff are very kind and they can speak English.Breakfast was just okay,you can find some good options for everyone.Hotel location is great too ,everything is just walking distance from the hotel (Bind ,West Nanjing Road ,many restaurants,shops ,Starbucks etc ) Whenever you want to hang out at night,no need to travel more then 15min by taxi ) Conclusion, great stay with great value!I am recommending this hotel !

The location is truly fantastic and the staff were all super friendly and helpful. We had a problem with the safe in our room, not being able to open it as we had put in too much stuff, but Ray did a brilliant job in sorting it out quickly and efficiently (even having to call a specialist engineer to remedy the problem). Hats off to Ray!

Nothing we can think of!

The hotel staff are very professional. Combining with the previous experience of missing facilities in the room, this time, they offered a room type upgrade as compensation, and thoughtfully arranged the exterior windows to see the church and the square directly. The communication process was very pleasant, also familiar and smooth for all the procedure, such as issuing invoices. The breakfast is quite rich, the meal time is more abundant, and the chef can also make some hot food on the spot, the craftsmanship is good. The bathroom is very spacious, and each functional area is clearly distributed, making it comfortable to use. The location is excellent, the layout in the corridor is very distinctive. When the weather is nice, you can go to the public terrace to experience it.

There is a little problem with sound insulation, people in the corridor can be heard talking.

I liked the huge bathroom and really comfortable bed. Also you can still feel retro vibe in this old hotel. Location is very good - a lot of places to eat or have a drink around, convenient public transport options.

It was uneasy to speak English for receptionist, but the supervisor helped very well with all my questions. Breakfast was good, but not perfect.

Things have definitely deteriorated during covid. Or odd not quite the place it was (previously one of the best hotels I have ever stayed anywhere in the world). It’s still very good, but a slight disappointment
