Hotel is very old, from the 1950s, but has been nicely renovated over time. That said, it does have the feel of a 5 star hotel from the 1980s / 1990s. It is not super modern, but is very comfortable, and for the price an excellent value. The breakfast buffet was also very good, lots of choices, including a lot of fresh fruit, which I very much appreciate. Just don't go expecting ultra modern amenities, furniture, decor, etc. as you will be disappointed. Given that I wanted to be close to the museum and areas around it, the location was perfect and was a great home base to explore.

As a listed "5 star" category hotel, I was expecting far more modern furnishings, decor, etc. Once I got over that initial shock of "5 star from 1985", everything was fine.

Very spacious room, in fact two rooms (one for sleeping and one for living) on the fifteenth floor. The traffic noise from two main roads was thus less audible. Well functioning Wifi, good and large breakfast buffet, every day from 6 a.m. It is a huge hotel with a lot of service staff who are friendly and very helpful, from the lobby to the breakfast room. Good location, close to the area with the city`s main attractions. Direct route to the airport, by taxi, costing hardly ever more than 30 000 COP Some of the staff are speaking something else than Spanish, even if with difficulty.

Of a hotel of this claimed standing I would have expected at least a water kettle in the room and a box with Kleenex or similar tissues. Not a criticism, but it is visible that the hotel has lost some of its original shine. The furniture looks a bit old and worn.

Room was very comfy, the restaurant was amazing, and the staff was very nice, excelent location and very clean. The only complain was on the day of the arrival the front desk took almost an hour to help us check in, and one of the room phones was not working, so we had to get to the front desk for room service. Regardless, the hotel was very, very good

The front desk took a bit too much on the day of the check in, when we arrived they were only 2 pairs before us, but when the first pair leave (40 minutes more or less) they were at least 10 more groups waiting

The breakfast (included in price) was absolutely delicious! Cooked meals to choose from, different every morning, including a soup, assortment of fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, everything you can imagine! The staff was very helpful, made our stay seamless. The hotel is very big, has shops in the lobby, a bar, exchange office, café. It is very conveniently located, a walking distance from the historical center, but also from the modern part of the city, as well as the National Museum. The hotel is fairly old, but fairly well-kept. There is an easy-to-use safe deposit box in the room, alongside all amenities you may need.

The bathroom was a bit too small, the water pressure in the shower could have been better.

Large, spacious room. Clean and comfortable bed. Separate jacuzzi tub. Mini bar and fridge. Courteous and friendly staff. This hotel was once the talk of town and celebrities stayed here, back in its heyday. Those times have long passed decades ago, but the hotel still retains that classic charm, like something out of 50s movies, but it's definitely showing it's age, and things are not as shiny, new or bright as they once were. This is a grand dame that's showing her age yet is still graceful. In exchange, you get classical elegance in a good location, at a good value. For US travelers, this will feel like a 3-star hotel, not 4 like they claim (and definitely not 5, like long ago). For European travels, it will feel like a solid 4 star hotel. The included breakfast was also extensive, carried and delicious; with lots of Colombian hot and cold dishes. Overall, very happy with what we got, for what we paid. Would book again, and in fact, did book again for a second stay just days after our first one. And will consider booking again next time we are in Bogotá.

No sound proofing on windows. Even with the windows closed, the noise from the busy street below was significant at all hours. Very little hot water came out of our room.

The view from our room was superb. The bed was very comfortable. The pool is just incredible - HOT (35 degrees), clean, grand. Bianca made our pool time really nice also. Very kind lady. We will be back. Early check-in.

We were very disappointed to find out that they were going to close the pool for two days just after we arrived.  A simple warning would have been nice as we arrived in our bathing suits and realized that they were having a staff party in there for two days. Not what you expect when you book a hotel with a pool. We wanted to use the pool, not to stare at the people dancing near a pool. The pool is also located through the convention center staircase. You do not have direct access to the pool. Just as it is the case for the morning breakfast, which was good, but not great, you have to walk a descent distance before getting to your breakfast.   I think you need to remember that you are staying in a convention center hotel, not just a hotel. Regardless, we were very happy to be there.

The best thing about this hotel is the breakfast, there was an unlimited buffet with many options, and all of them were delicious. The hotel is in a privileged location with many restaurants, pubs and stores near. The room service was excellent; all food asked for in my room was delicious and brought on time (24h service). My room was spacious and was a great view of mountains and buildings, the bed was comfortable, and there was a big desktop to work remotely. If you want to work remotely in a quiet place, I recommend this hotel!

Some parts of the facilities need maintenance, and some places looked very old and a little bit dirty, especially the carpets in the corridors; I like the vintage design, but I recommend constant maintenance. In my case, the WiFi speed was low sometimes (no more than 20MB); I tried to connect three devices to WiFi, but all devices lost connection frequently.

Lovely upscale proper Hotel. Reminded me of the Grand Hotel in Brighton, from bell boys to marble decor. Conferences and balls. Efficient, clean, helpful - taxis and airport transfers at the door, room service, spa, gym and pool and plenty of hot water all day and all night. For the price as a traveller overseas a bargain and a great place to recharge and unwind in your own space. Breakfast buffet was amazing - top notch.

The location is perfect for the Museuem of History ( the Hip Hop exhibition is worth the visit alone ) and transport buses on the doorstep. A bit of a trek to the old town if you arelooking for night life.

Overall a good experience and especially if you are looking for that history part which hotel has. Please be aware that photos here are probably not most up to date. Rooms are good size but desperate for an update. Pretty old furniture and rooms have cigarette smell.

Room smelled of cigarettes and they could use a face lift. Area where the hotel is situated is nice but you are very limited where you can walk as you are very close to a dangerous part of Bogota. Spa didn't feel clean and sauna was impossible to use as it had this super loud buzzing sound.

Old style high-rise hotel in the middle of Bogota. Within walking distance of the historic centre but the area immediately around the hotel looks a bit 'iffy' at night. Very pleasant staff, but if you don't speak some Spanish, you will struggle.....a lot.

Although my room was on the 16th floor, the noise from the nearby motorway was unacceptably loud, making it difficult to sleep.....and this continued without interruption all night. Clearly some soundproofing would be desirable.
