The grounds were absolutely beautiful. I went on a bird watching tour, and I saw more birds there than the Hanging Bridges!

The location is far out of La Fortuna, so no tours will pick you up, but we rented a car, and it was half an hour into the town!

- Reception and bar/breakfast staff were really welcoming. They always served with a smile and went out do their way to help us how they could :) - Tortilla making class, which we were the very first to do, was a fun and traditional experience. Melissa, the cook who took our class, was super sweet and she did a wonderful job…thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills with us ;) As this was on the property, it was a nice day to take it easy there. - We also did the bird watching tour with a guide and he showed us, as well as told us, a lot. We went up the tower on the property to get a great view of the Arenal volcano, saw a few toucans and many other colourful birds who came to visit us when at the bird feeding station. We enjoyed our time :) - P.S. We saw a sloth upon our arrival up in the tree besides the pool. Apparently, there’s always a few around the area and the staff helped to show us.

- Basic bathroom but everything was in order.

The accommodations will not luxurious were well conceived and crafted. Living on a regenerative farm in the middle of the rainforest for a week was the unique family experience we (three generations) were looking for. Virtually everything we were served at the restaurant had been produced on the farm! Be sure to take advantage of all the activities offered (for a small fee) on the farm such as the chocolate tour, early morning bird watching and milking the cows. There’s a wonderful tower and a bird blind to view the countless colorful birds including resident toucans. We even saw a sloth sleeping in a tree just a few meters from the pool. The extremely helpful staff will help you set up any outside tours you are interested in.

This accommodation is about 30 minutes from La Fortuna so if you opt to not rent a car you will be spending considerable amount on transportation for tours and trips to town.

The facility and staff were wonderful and you truly felt like you were in the rainforest! The farm to table food, juices, spices etc were delicious and the ambiance was beautiful! They had water stations throughout the property to stay hydrated, a foosball table and a small ping pong table, informative onsite tours, they help you book off site tours, a nice hammock and sitting area outside your bungalow too!

There’s only ac in the bedrooms, there could be better lighting in the rooms especially since it’s dark at 6:00, and it’s about 30 minutes from La Fortuna which is where most restaurants, shops and tours are located, and the drive is on windy roads.

We had three amazing days and nights at Finca Luna Nueva Lodge. Wild life is great, saw two sloths (one was hanging in a poolside tree), a group of tucans at dawn and from early morning till sunset a hummingbird came eating from the flowers right in front of our family lodge. The pool is beautiful. We even had a swim when it was raining pretty hard and had so much fun The people are super friendly and the food is so good. Knowing that everything is organic felt really good. And everything was so tasteful. It's like staying in paradise. We absolutely loved it and would definitely recommend it.

Kind and professional staff, beautiful natural surroundings, high standard of cleanliness, fantastic ethos around sustainability and taking care of the natural world, interesting and informative tours on offer on site, wonderful help provided in organising off site tours too. The restaurant serves wholesome food and drinks in generous portions with a focus on farm to table… The whole place oozes calm, beauty and celebrates the natural world. The restaurant/bar and pool area are inviting and sympathetic to the natural surroundings. A place where families, couples and singles can all enjoy a holiday that is as relaxing or as adventurous as your appetite demands!

This property is a true piece of paradise. From the minute we entered the grounds, we were overcome by how beautiful and natural it all is. Jasmine greeted us with such enthusiasm, taking care of us for our entire stay. The entire staff, including Byron and Elizabeth (?) couldn't have been more attentive and gracious. We were visiting our niece who is serving in the Peace Corps nearby, so it was a beautiful time for her to swim in the gorgeous pool (a tropical nirvana,) eat the fabulous farm-to-table dinners, chill out in the hammock. We have to give kudos to the owners who've developed this property, respecting nature SO much, creating a laid-back but exciting atmosphere with beautiful hikes, yoga pavilion - something for everyone. My husband was grateful for the smoking platform, removed from everything, but very comfortable. We lucked out with this stay and I will be back next year!

Well, it's impossible to think of anything negative. I forgot to mention how super the breakfast was!

This was the best family lodge we have ever stayed at. It exceeded our expectations in every way. The food was great, we felt very welcome, the staff was extremely kind. I was worried about being outside of town, and “stuck” eating the food there - but I wish I could have their meals each night after we left the lodge. Plus, the drinks (coffee drinks $4, cocktails and smoothies $6-$7) were so affordable. We missed this place after we left to Samara where everything was 30% more - even the little sloth stuffed animal we bought in the gift shop. We enjoyed all of the onsite tours - farm tour was a highlight. I would come back to try the herbal workshop. And heard the chocolate tour was great.

Not a single complaint.

The overall facility is fantastic. You can see an exceptional amount of birds. The limited number of guests allowed for a relaxing experience. The facility is a 30 year old farm and all the food is farm to table. Every meal was just amazing. The staff are tremendously helpful and there is a lot to do just on the property. There are 2 areas for bird watching, a local trail, herb classes, and so on. We honestly loved this place so much!

This is not really a criticism. The rooms are comfortable and are cabins with multiple bedrooms. Some beds are in the open sitting room areas that do not have A/C. 2 of our rooms had A/C which was adequate for us.

The hotel is located on a farm. They had trails right on the property which was great! The people working there were super (especially Elizabeth :)). There was a problem with the electricity when we were there, but we used the in-room flashlight to navigate and it didn't affect our stay too much. There were candles in the pool/hot tub/restaurant area and the power was restored by morning.

The property is amazing and was an excursion all in itself! There were trails and animals and tours in-house. By the nature of the eco-lodge the hotel is a bit secluded.
