Very central. Good value. Clean. Fan and AC. Kind staff. I just needed an overnight stay between shuttles. This was a great option.

Shower was not truly warm, but adequate for the temperature. Room 3 may be noisy as the window is right over the neighboring restaurant kitchen and there is no glass on their window. Buildings very, very close together and noise didn't finish until 0030, though restaurant closes at 2200. Earplugs helped and fan may work as white noise.

Me and my mum stayed two nights at Sleeping Mountain Arenal and the owner Marvin was the kindest person I met in Costa Rica. He was very helpful, accommodating with everything we asked and just a smiley, warm person. The rooms are great, they have everything you need, comfy beds, great bathroom, everything super clean. The location is in the center of Fortuna so easily accessible to everything.

This was my second time visiting Sleeping Mountain, this time with family. This hotel is the best value with the best staff. Maria and Marvin will help you with every little detail to make your experience in La Fortuna amazing. Maria helped us find tours that were much cheaper than what we could find online, called my husband a taxi, looked up the bus schedule for our return to San José. If you’re nervous about traveling to a new place, you don’t have to worry about anything here. The hosts are excellent!

Great location. Very easy to walk to Arenal Mundo Adventures, the Don Juan coffee and chocolate tours, and all of the amazing shops and restaurants downtown. The staff were also amazingly friendly, and helped us contact drivers when necessary. Coffee and bananas for breakfast to help us start our day. It was my first time traveling with a child, and it was super comfortable. They especially liked the folded animal towel on the bed!

It is a little difficult to find. The name of the hotel is very small......but if you follow all of the very large signs that just say HOTEL, you should get there!

Air conditioning. Very light with lots of windows. Excellent location, near restaurateurs and supermarkets. Use of kitchen with fridge and microwave. Alvin let us check in early. Well furnished. Fans included. Lots of tourist information provided. Lots of electrical sockets, including some near bed.

On very noisy road. No bedside lights - only single bright room light.

Book it! If this is the price range you’re looking for, stop looking and stay here! Maria and Marvin made this an absolutely wonderful stay for me as a solo female traveler. They were incredibly helpful with everything I needed and I felt very safe. The hotel is in town, so you can walk to everything, but it’s also a fairly quiet street for Costa Rica. The room with AC was definitely worth the minor price difference as I went during the hottest month.

Clean, lovely owners, comfy beds, access to shared kitchen and common area/balcony. Rooms were cleaned daily. We had a rental car and appreciated the parking lot. Overall, a great value for one of the cheapest options in La Fortuna. They also had a tour desk.

Do note that is backpacker/traveler class accommodations so it lacks some amenities such as a/c and hot water (water was lukewarm and actually quite comfortable for a shower). A little bit of street noise, which is to be expected being in the middle of town.

Hotel is at very central place, near to many restaurants of the city. Owners are nice and helpful. There are lots of things at surroundings to do and see, but it's a bit difficult to move around using public transport. There are available a lot of arrenged tours to the volcano and lake areas.

It's a bit noisy surroundings in the center of a very touristic city.

Marvin and Maria were really helpful and welcoming. They were always ready to help when needed and made sure I was safe and had a pleasant stay while in La Fortuna. Rooms cleaned daily Towels changed daily Small kitchen for guests Organised tours available on site

The room I was in faced the back garden/parking. Some nights there were people in the back parking speaking until late, which made it hard to fall asleep. There is only x1 fan in the room, so it can get quite hot at night. No window net for mosquitos.

Very friendly and nice owners. The place is spotless. The owner would have some free fruits in the kitchen for the guests. Room is big and beds are very comfortable. Bathroom is also very clean. Great location near the center and and bus terminal is only 3 minutes away.

It's a bit difficult to find the place as there isn't an exact hotel name on display. The lock in the bathroom in room 5 needs a key to open so if no one inside you have to make sure it is not closed or keep the key just in case. It would be better to have an electric kettle for boiling water instead of using the microwave.
