Great value. You can get a comfortable private room with a fridge, safe box, air conditioning and a balcony for much better price than in other places. The free shuttle to the hot river was a great bonus. You can also walk to El Salto spot - a cool river, any time yourself, which takes about half an hour, and feels even better in the hot weather.

The hotel water was not always there. It could also finish mid-way through your shower. The cold water was not freezing and there were plenty of it. It just was not as comfortable as hot water.

Excellent facilities. We stayed in a private room which was clean and well set up. The communal kitchen was great. Breakfast was also really good. The cleaning staff and kitchen staff were brilliant. Really nice atmosphere with mainly young people. Drinks wrapped up at 10pm and there was no issues with noise after this. The unlimited shuttle was really handy also, would recommend getting this. I would give 10/10 - minus 2 for front reception staff.

One of the front reception staff was rude. I would recommend searching around other places for tours etc as they were overcharging for many of these; with the staff member gloating about his commission on one occasion.

Very good! The guy at the front desk (so sorry I can't remember his name!) was very helpful with booking tours/activities for us! Definitely book through La Choza as they can offer a better price than booking on your own. We did the Northfields Coffee, Chocolate and Sugar Cane tour which was amazing! La Choza called them and set up pickup from the hotel with no issue at all. We also did the whitewater rafting and visited Baldi hotsprings - all SUPER easy to book and well worth it. Room was nice, aircon was super strong, wifi good, tasty breakfast. Very short walk to the main park/square and lots of restaurants. All around good place to stay,

Great to have a breakfast served. The noise went till 2am but it was from a bar a few blocks away so any accommodation would have the same. It is a party town and vibrant for that reason! Got used to the music at night. Our place was chill and they had rules in place for noise. All was wonderful!

Just a warning to watch your stuff in this town. We were at an open air restaurant and the couple in front of us went to dance and there were men lurking just outside and they came back from dancing and her purse was gone with cell phones etc etc. They wait till you are drunk or not paying attention. Not dangerous at all, just locals looking for a quick and easy take. They know there are lots of young travelers who may not be paying attention. This was actually an older couple that had her purse stolen. The men outside can easily reach onto the tables from where they hang out. So sit further in, or just be aware. I forget the name of the restaurant, but the locals were hanging there at night and looked suspicious.

Nice communal areas to chill or socialise with plenty of charge points, and the staff were helpful. A shuttle to certain sights was a plus and they could arrange other activities easily. Air con available in the rooms. Kitchen space to cook in. Decent breakfast offered and free coffee was always appreciated.

We had a problem with our bathroom door locking from the inside with no one in there, so the whole dorm had to use other bathrooms elsewhere while it was fixed. No sockets by each bed so some had to charge on a shelf by the door, which isn’t great for security as the dorm door didn’t lock. No lockers for security. Location is a bit away from the main plaza area compared to other accommodations but not too far.

This hostel was PERFECT for solo travelers! They offered many great deals on tours, like $45 for a volcano tour + lunch + hot baths, which was 1000% worth the price. The staff were all extremely nice, and there was a full kitchen staff that made a great breakfast in the morning for everyone. Lots of tables if you needed to do work, and a nice garden/hammock area. Great convenient location as well, and they let you keep your luggage there for free past your check out. Big lockers in the bedrooms as well.

The hot water heater in our dorm was broken, and the wifi was sometimes very slow, so if you plan on doing work here remotely might choose elsewhere.

Very cozy and nice place. Great location in the center of La Fortuna. The breakfast is local style and delicious (set plate). Helpful personnel and good wifi. Nice little inner court and water refill spot in there.

Our room was on road side and we could hear some traffic noise but it wasn't too bad.

Breakfast was very good. Location was excellent with 5 min walk to beach and to the national park. We had a big SUV but they found a good place for us to park. When we asked about Cocoverde national park as we were not sure if we should do the day trip, they told us it is a beautiful place and we should if we had the time. We did and it was one of the best experiences of Costa Rica for us.

We did not have much of a view from the room. We asked for a second floor but they did not have any for the whole duration of our stay.

Best free breakfast in Central America! Eggs beans rice toast banana peanut butter jam coffee tea juice, amazing ! reception and kitchen staff lovely and helpful. great kitchen for cooking, lots of hobs and everything clean. AC in the rooms saved us

only down side, the shuttle driver was outrageously rude. nearly drove off without us from the waterfalls having told us the wrong meeting point and we were not a minute late. someone needs to have a word with this guy

The place is clean with ample space in room and restrooms. Very quiet location. Close to main streets. I totally forgot to take photos. But good place to stay.

I was in room#2 and the AC was not working. I didn’t report it because it was only one night. The fan portion of the AC was working but not the cooling.
