The bungalows and facilities were all clean, comfortable, and beautifully kept. The location was fantastic and had amazing views of Arenal and the grounds dense with lush vegetation. Breakfast was delicious and the wait staff were friendly.

The shower temperature was a bit temperamental- very difficult to achieve water that wasn't either freezing or scalding. We were also soured a tad while checking out when we learned that losing a towel card (a small laminated piece of paper) was a $20 charge. I would understand the charge for losing or not returning a towel but $20 for the card seems a bit excessive.

When we arrived I saw one of the most breath taking views ever. The volcano is so close and makes a crazy impression. I could just stare at it. I wish we could stay longer. Such a peaceful and calm environment, breath taking view on the volcano, well maintained gardens, fantastic pool. So much wildlife- we could hear hundreds of birds all the time. I recommend visiting nearby restaurants as there are so many just a few minutes away. The only thing I didn’t like was a dinner at the hotel restaurant- it was expensive and really not too tasty. Very „Americanized” menu. I would rather have something local and simple. Breakfasts were wonderful though.

Great views, great location away from crowded town, great staff, amazing room.

Food and drinks pricing was a little too high

The bungalows were very nice and clean. In general the staff was very friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast, really tasty. The surrounding of the hotel is lovely too.

Only one thing we have to complain about is the food being served in the evening. It is too much expensive, to pay 12$ for a sparkling Pellegrini water 0,7 ltr. (the bottle of Pellegrini cost aprox. 1,50 € in our country) is a bad joke. The food we got - dinner- was not tasty at all, we ordered 4 different meals, all were terrible. That’s why we decided not to eat at the hotel restaurant and we went to eat to the city.  When we travel abroad very often, we visited many countries like Japan, USA, Canada … and also many other European countries, but the food at the hotel Lomas was the most  expensive we have ever had.

Amazing garden - very well maintained and very beautiful! A lot of different birds and other wildlife. There's also a wild trek which begins from the hotel - it's a short one and gives you a great idea what a walk in a jungle looks like. On top of that the staff was amazing - due to bad weather I had to change the plans we had at the last minute and the staff helped us a lot - Thank you, you are awesome and you made our trip to Costa Rica wonderful!

Just a recommendation - if you could add some small complimentary mosquito repellent in the rooms that would be great.

This is hotel is beautiful and peaceful, and particularly nice if you are looking to unwind surrounded by nature but with the convenience of a hotel - pool, restaurant, and other services. They had great options for pools - hot tub, the cold pool, and a relaxing heated pool with a bar. I think this is nice for people traveling as multigenerational families with different preferences. The restaurant is pretty with a view of the volcano, which we also enjoyed from our cabin, and the breakfast was included. However, for lunch and dinner it was far too expensive. There is a less costly option with good options for food - more of a sports bar/outdoor venue. However, you're also close to local restaurants with good food and much lower prices.

The restaurant prices felt excessive, and the room (cabin) was a bit small for us with three people, including two adults and a teenager. However, it was a pretty room and very clean. There were nice spaces for sitting outdoors with an incredible view.

The little semi luxury cabins here are amazing! Friendly, professional service all around, especially the breakfast staff! Would likely stay here again the next time! 4 nights for $700 was more than reasonable for what we got: PROs: -Large spacious cabin with big clean bathroom. -Very comfortable king bed, fridge, large LCD TV, coffee maker -Fun pool area with a cold and a heated pool with swim up bar. -Amazing breakfast buffet with fresh omelettes. -Cabins provide extra privacy

CONs: -1km road to the hotel is unpaved and very rocky, its nearly 5 minutes each way. -Some tiny ants in the room, but that is normal for Costa Rica. -Depending on your cabin location, it can be a long walk to the breakfast and pool areas. We drove because of rain or heat.

The location is amazing, the rooms are very comfortable and the majority of the staff super nice and attentive

I have only two comments. The first one as mentioned in other reviews they should have a gym and the second one is a complaint about one member of the staff at reception. The minimum expectation for a person in that position is to be welcoming. That person was everything but that. She made us feel as she was making us a favor for “allowing” us to stay at this hotel. Making us feel as we were thiefs and we were gonna steal either an umbrella or a towel or something else. I read a similar comment about this from another person so I am pretty sure it is the same one because she was the only one to be mentioned as disrespectful and rude.

Beautiful property, helpful staff. Great view of the volcano, and howler moneys to see and hear. All around great stay. Even after the stay ended, when I realized I had forgotten some expensive headphones in my room, the hotel staff had them sent to the next stop on my trip. I was impressed!

Not much. It was expensive by Costa Rican standards, but didn’t seem overpriced given the view. The rooms could have felt more “high-end” for the price, but that is quibbling. It is well off the main road, making getting into town tricky if you don’t have a car. (We found Uber to be cheap and reliable in the area.) No hot springs, but we got a day pass at a nearby resort to enjoy those.

Very nice facilities of high quality. We had a great villa, very new and comfortable, quietly located. Nice jacuzzi and they have a private trail located in the hotel as well which is a plus. It’s more of a jungle one though so we mainly went down to the main road which was good as well. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice. What we didn’t really like was the service. Great concierge who suggested us some good things, BUT I asked to bring something so the room and it was never brought, asked for umbrella and and needed to wait 15 mins as they couldn’t just give but needed to check out a client.. should be simpler. During the breakfast asked for a plastic cup and they just told it’s finished. And not in a nice way. Service should be improved in my opinion.
