Beautiful grounds and nice pools.. awesome views

Made a reservation at Ayla and when we got there manager said he could not find it .. hostess said someone deleted it.. i know probably manager deleted it so he could accommodate one of his customers from tented camp.. once i asked if Leo the owner was there they sat us..manager jeffrey when to all his rich customers to check everything never came to our table.. food was not great for a fancy place.. best food was at the italian place Mis Amores and breakfast in la terraza is awesome.. so i will take a star off only because of jeffrey the manager at Aylas.

The property is beautiful, the rooms are big and cozy. We were right in the middle of the jungle which is a cool experience. There's a lot of spacing between rooms, so you have a lot of privacy. The staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast (which was included) had a lot of variety, and a really cool touch with fresh coco for water.

Value for money was not the best. It was a fantastic hotel, but also very expensive. And there were a couple of small things that added friction unnecessarily.. for example - after checkout we waited for 30 minutes to get our car, or also during checkin they took our passport while we were still sitting in our car (they could have welcomed us in first before taking our passports..). Nothing terrible - it was overall a good stay. But given the price i would expect it to be outstanding, and there were a few small annoying things.

A beautiful hotel with a 5-star plus service. Breakfast in Nayara Gardens is a great start to wonderful days. The property has a great selection of restaurants, the food quality and choice is superb. All staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about all aspects of the wildlife in Costa Rica and their culture. We had 6 excursions arranged by the hotel and the best, without exception, were with the Nayara guides. Back to the hotel to unwind in the pools or Thermal Springs or have a pampering in the Spa - every day memorable. Amazing value for the standard of accommodation provided.

The trip was too short. We stayed 13 nights and would have loved another week.

ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING! By far the best place we stayed in Costa Rica and wish we would have been able to stay more nights… we will be back! If there were a rating higher than 5 stars this place deserves every single one! The attention to detail and their guests needs is unparalleled. We’ve stayed in luxury hotels, resorts and safari lodges all over the world and this one takes the prize!! From the La Fortuna views to the variety and execution of the food to the wildlife and nature that sounds and makes each village seem exceptionally private and peaceful this place has exceeded any expectations we had of it being one of the best in the world! So much to do. Spa was AMAZING!! We saw our only sloths in CR at the resort… several of them and even a baby… not to mention the most wildlife of anywhere we stayed. One night was not enough, but it’s all we could get for our large group and we are SO glad we stayed! We will be back for longer!!

We stayed in one of the larger, but older garden rooms and our kids got the newer rooms with the jaw dropping views of La Fortuna (make sure you request the newer rooms with the view and plunge pool. The older room was still very nice and clean, but I did not like all of the lush rainforest surrounding our plunge pool and could not relax for fear of a snake plunging in with us… just me but the view of La Fortuna was so much better in the other room and the vegetation was less around the pool. Also, I would recommend non ceramic shampoo/conditioner/soap dispensers in the showers… they are so dangerous (because you have to pick them up or they slip) and they are easily broken causing a danger for feet. They are beautiful, but not safe or practical in the showers.

Everything. The most amazing place I’ve ever been. Excellent food, tons of animals on property (saw baby sloth from five feet away!), the staff would give us impromptu Spanish lessons… swim up bar in the springs had amazing bar tenders, special treats upon check in, turn down service, at the Italian place. I wanted to go back as soon as I left. 😂

I would have liked more walking trails accessible from the property if they are looking to improve.

We loved our stay here, and would do it again in a heartbeat. It felt like we were inside a forest, with our own private hut and wildlife just steps away, yet just a short walk to amazing restaurants/facilities. There were many small pool areas which makes the resort seem private/luxurious. The staff were gracious, friendly, and checking in on us often to make sure were doing fine. It seemed like every person knew your name and wanted to make sure you were having a wonderful stay. The food was wholesome and tasty (speaking as a vegetarian). The breakfast was plentiful and served with care. On the last day, we returned from a hike to the resort in the evening to find our rental loaded up with our bags and ready to go at the reception (we didn't ask...they just cared enough to do it. So that should sum it up).

Not much to complain at all. The location, food, service, amenities were great value for money.

This is a large resort with the springs and tented camp sharing the same area but, because it so well landscaped into the rainforest it still feels quite small and intimate. You can make use of any of the facilities offered by all three so you get a choice of 6+ restaurants, 2 smallish pool areas, the hot baths etc. We had a suite with private pool which was extremely luxurious, beautifully put together and had everything one would need. The bathroom area was huge with a double indoor shower and an outdoor one to boot. The pool was hot tub temperature. This place more than met our expectations.

If you want to eat at any particular restaurant book ahead, the Japanese one especially was very popular.

Beautiful layout and lovely villas. Good location, 10 mins to town. Great trip to the saraquipi river for rafting. Lovely pools, thermal pools, bars etc not crowded and family friendly. Jefferson was super helpful and lovely.

The restaurants and bars were quite expensive so it made it a very expensive 3 days. However breakfast was great and included.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way! The best hotel we have ever stayed at! The room was luxurious and very spacious with lots of storage. We enjoyed the outside shower and the outside bath was a fun touch. We had a view into what felt like the jungle and close to the bridge where we saw sloths and boa constrictors. The pool areas were outstanding, our favourite was the pool at Ayla restaurant, which had the most stunning view of the volcano! We also loved the hot springs and the pool bars, which did great happy hours. We loved the other extras that were included, morning bird walk and yoga and the fact you often saw one of the naturalists on the bridge pointing out wildlife. Breakfast was amazing - great selection, so much choice and all top quality! We enjoyed discovering new fruit we had never seen before and the staff were so nice and took time to explain about the different things to us. We did a private tour of the Hanging Bridges and La Fortuna Waterfall with one of Nayara's guides (Isidro Salamanca Vanegas) and drivers (Juan Carlos). This was an unforgettable day, one of the best days of our holiday, we can't thank them both enough and Isidro was very knowledgeable and entertaining and turns out is a going to be on TV. We can't wait to see him in action ;). Staff couldn't have been helpful. We can't thank them enough for making our stay so memorable. We only had two nights at Nayara Gardens but could happily spend 2 weeks here, it's a piece of heaven. We hope to return in the future.

Good choice of restaurant on site but would advise to book in advance to get the time slot that suits you. The location for us was great as we never wanted to leave the hotel it was so beautiful, but it is a short car ride to town if you prefer to explore the town/other restaurants.

The property was immaculate. every detail was perfect. Although the hotel said they were fully booked, the guests are spread out so it never felt crowded. It was easy to find pool loungers at all of the four pool options! The food quality was amazing and every member of the Nayara staff are so lovely. It is a delight to be a guest. This was our second stay at Nayara Costa Rica and we loved it even more the second time.

The drinks are expensive.
