We loved our stay here, and would do it again in a heartbeat. It felt like we were inside a forest, with our own private hut and wildlife just steps away, yet just a short walk to amazing restaurants/facilities. There were many small pool areas which makes the resort seem private/luxurious. The staff were gracious, friendly, and checking in on us often to make sure were doing fine. It seemed like every person knew your name and wanted to make sure you were having a wonderful stay. The food was wholesome and tasty (speaking as a vegetarian). The breakfast was plentiful and served with care. On the last day, we returned from a hike to the resort in the evening to find our rental loaded up with our bags and ready to go at the reception (we didn't ask...they just cared enough to do it. So that should sum it up).

Not much to complain at all. The location, food, service, amenities were great value for money.

This is a large resort with the springs and tented camp sharing the same area but, because it so well landscaped into the rainforest it still feels quite small and intimate. You can make use of any of the facilities offered by all three so you get a choice of 6+ restaurants, 2 smallish pool areas, the hot baths etc. We had a suite with private pool which was extremely luxurious, beautifully put together and had everything one would need. The bathroom area was huge with a double indoor shower and an outdoor one to boot. The pool was hot tub temperature. This place more than met our expectations.

If you want to eat at any particular restaurant book ahead, the Japanese one especially was very popular.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way! The best hotel we have ever stayed at! The room was luxurious and very spacious with lots of storage. We enjoyed the outside shower and the outside bath was a fun touch. We had a view into what felt like the jungle and close to the bridge where we saw sloths and boa constrictors. The pool areas were outstanding, our favourite was the pool at Ayla restaurant, which had the most stunning view of the volcano! We also loved the hot springs and the pool bars, which did great happy hours. We loved the other extras that were included, morning bird walk and yoga and the fact you often saw one of the naturalists on the bridge pointing out wildlife. Breakfast was amazing - great selection, so much choice and all top quality! We enjoyed discovering new fruit we had never seen before and the staff were so nice and took time to explain about the different things to us. We did a private tour of the Hanging Bridges and La Fortuna Waterfall with one of Nayara's guides (Isidro Salamanca Vanegas) and drivers (Juan Carlos). This was an unforgettable day, one of the best days of our holiday, we can't thank them both enough and Isidro was very knowledgeable and entertaining and turns out is a going to be on TV. We can't wait to see him in action ;). Staff couldn't have been helpful. We can't thank them enough for making our stay so memorable. We only had two nights at Nayara Gardens but could happily spend 2 weeks here, it's a piece of heaven. We hope to return in the future.

Good choice of restaurant on site but would advise to book in advance to get the time slot that suits you. The location for us was great as we never wanted to leave the hotel it was so beautiful, but it is a short car ride to town if you prefer to explore the town/other restaurants.

The property was immaculate. every detail was perfect. Although the hotel said they were fully booked, the guests are spread out so it never felt crowded. It was easy to find pool loungers at all of the four pool options! The food quality was amazing and every member of the Nayara staff are so lovely. It is a delight to be a guest. This was our second stay at Nayara Costa Rica and we loved it even more the second time.

The drinks are expensive.

words can not even begin to describe my stay. I cried twice while I was there by how well they treated me. I have never in my life had that quality of service. I am a solo traveler needing a getaway for my birthday and you need to go. I felt like they truly cared about my well being and helped me with anything I needed. I think I blacked out during my massage it was so divine. I had the best birthday of my entire life and all because of the staff at Nayara Gardens. Worth every single penny. The rooms are a dream.

not one thing.

If you are like me you have probably read all of the reviews regarding this magical place - and I can tell you from firsthand experience that all of the reviews were right. This place is the absolute BEST resort experience in the Carribean, Central and South America. The property, the location, the staff simply marvelous! I feel like the staff all try to best one another with providing the most sensational service experience for the guests. Raquel, the trainee who checked me and my spouse into the resort yesterday is a tour-de-force in elegance, grace, hospitality and professionalism. Whoever hired her needs to be promoted! She has only been at the hotel for six weeks but Raquel had the warmth and confidence that made me feel like she owned the hotel and I was her personal guest at the property. Bravo Raquel! So many amazing staff members in housekeeping like Maricella. The team at Nayara do the little things so right. This is what luxury feels like. Not marble floors but tender hearts. Thank you so much Nayara for the beautiful birthday arrangement that you did for my spouse in just a moments notice. Thank you for making me feel so amazing.

Couldn’t be more happier staying at Nayara. The tropical views in the hotel are stunning, like a tropical garden. The villa is so comfortable. My children and I enjoyed the 37c degree pool SO MUCH! Food are delicious, highly recommend the Atlas restaurant in the hotel! Dinner with your loved ones there are unforgettable memories.

The spring are either too hot or too cold And tent is just too hard to book :(

Nayara Gardens was a pure joy. The facilities were superb, with a choice of pools and restaurants all nestled in the rainforest. Despite it being a resort with upto 180 guests we only ever saw a maximum of 15 other people in any location including the restaurants or poolside. The morning yoga classes were superb, the restaurants were varied and we loved everything about it.

There was nothing we would have changed.

I went to Nayara with my husband and three year old son. I have been to Costa Rica before so I knew how incredible it was, but Nayara took my love for Costa Rica to a whole other level. We were treated like royalty. If you can, STAY AT THE NEW TENTS! I prefer rainy season because I actually saw the volcano every morning. The restaurant at the tents is super yummy-especially for breakfast and lunch. Everyone on the staff went above and beyond for us. My son went and hugged everyone goodbye when we left. It was a week I will never forget.

Everything about Nayara is fantastic - the villas, the restaurants, the location and the staff. We preferred the a la crate breakfast to the buffet but we aren’t buffet people. The villas are a really good size and are very private - surrounded by lush trees and plants. We really enjoyed ours with the good size plunge pool. There are actually 3 separate properties - the Gardens, the Springs and the Tents but they all have access to each others’ amenities (except the Springs is adults only). We liked that the 4 restaurants (plus wine bar) and 3 pools are spread out around the properties so there is variety. The natural hot springs “thermal baths” are available to use anytime. Even though the resort was at full capacity it never felt crowded. No one stakes out their lounger by the pool at 7am since there’s always one available. People go for the huge variety of activities in the area - since it’s a rain forest it’s not the place to go if you just want to lie in the sun all day. The staff were all super friendly and took pains to learn your name. The restaurant service is very high and the food quality is exceptional.

The only down side is that it’s a close to 3 hour drive from either the San Jose or Liberia airport which makes for a long day after a flight.
