almost everything! the beauty, the great amenities, the wonderful service and the ease of convenience

I didn’t like that there was no where to grab just a quick, casual meal on the go. maybe a place where you could get coffee, smoothies, sandwiches, etc. there’s lots to do in Arenal and we were constantly on the go with some early mornings. We are a family of 5 and needed something between the $100 breakfast buffet and the granola bars at the gift shop.

Very nice property, beautiful views, upscale. Employees well trained.

The room reeked of pine cleaner. The food was a little disappointing for price. Getting to and from the room is for the fit only. We hiked most days off the property. A few days, we were muddy, dirty and tired. You have to walk down 6 flights of stairs and through the entire common spaces to get to your room. I would have liked to be able to hike down by the river but that is not allowed.

We loved everything about this place! The service was exceptional, all the staff were friendly and helpful. The pools and springs were amazing, and there were so many of them. As for the room, it was spacious and had stunning views of the volcano, which you could take in by lying in bed, or in a hammock or rocking chair on the balcony. The bed was comfortable and I woke up every morning well rested. The bathroom was spacious and included a shower and jacuzzi tub (we didn't have time to use the tub, we were busy enjoying the hot springs!). We were sad leaving this resort because it was so relaxing and by far the best one we've stayed in!

The food was good, but overpriced.

The property was amazing as was the staff. We splurged on the cat feeding excursion as well as a night tour and our guide was fantastic.

The view of the volcano was partially blocked by a building. It was overpriced and everything was nickel and dimed. Our stay at another hotel nearby had better views and was equally as nice for almost half the price. It was a lovely, one-time treat but doubt we'd come back.

Fantastic amenities! The property is gorgeous. We we amazed. Tried the spa, it was also a wonderful experience. The staff was very attentive & helpful.

The food & drinks were very expensive. Not a lot of dining options, and cab rides off property were expensive to go elsewhere to eat. I’d say plan off-site meals into your day if you are planning activities.

Very pretty property. Liked that they had the golf carts to drive you around if you chose. Room was very nice and huge. The balcony was huge and had a great view of volcano, loved that it had rocking chairs and a little table set. Employees were friendly. Food and drinks were very good. Enjoyed all the hot springs.

Food and drinks were Very expensive. Had a wonderful margarita the first night, but was shocked it cost $24 (because I had it with Don Julio). Bottled water at the restaurants was $10. The property was very quiet with Nothing to do at night. Too boring for me. Unfortunately we thought the Club Rio area was way overrated, we expected so much more there after reading about it on the website. Even the rafting was nothing great. The monkey slide area could be set up better as well. Parents couldn’t see where the kids were at until they landed back in the water.

Hedonistically wonderful hot springs, in surprisingly nature-filled setting. Built on a hill, the springs cascade downward in assortment of pools, with lovely integrated nature and resort--saw sloths and toucans and even agouti in the wild, also took the tour of the wildlife sanctuary with so many lovely animals in good conditions. Watched the Arenal volcano through all the different stages of clouds and light from our very own bedroom. Didn't know what to expect of the Club Rio (looked a little hokey on the map), but actually a great river with a very wild feel and good adventures. Happy days for my adventure-loving 19 year old as well as myself.

If you don't have a car, is far from other dining options, but the hotel restaurants are fine.

Hotel is amazing . Everything is perfect.

Wifi is very bad and you have to pay for everything inside the hotel and the prices are not reasonable. Prepare to pay another booking price with food and other activities.

It is certainly a beautiful property in a beautiful location and, for the most part, the staff were wonderful. I especially appreciated everything they did to make my birthday special, particularly since I was on my own. Needless to say, the view of Arenal volcano was spectacular.

It’s almost too big! I felt a bit lost in it at the start and wished there was one of the old fashioned guides to the property in the room which had all the information, e.g. restaurant menus, laundry, ice machines, how and when you could order room service, activities (and what you needed for them), and many other things. Even an electronic version of that kind of document would have helped. The printed booklet and electronic document they provided didn’t answer my questions and I felt uncomfortable having to constantly ask about every little thing.

Loved the room, the bathroom, all the details. The view from the room was great, as well as the springs, both inside the Hotel and at Club Río. Personal was kind and welcoming, an extra star for Jorge and Diego at the restaurants! I would say it was also pretty good in terms of accessibility. I truly recommend the Spa, Gabriela will make sure you to have the best experience. Breakfast was good and varied, they offer GF options including pancakes and toasts. I also liked having lunch at Tres Cascadas.

Gf options at Las Ventanas restaurant, unfortunately. However they manage to solve it properly. We also got the tub full of black scraps when activating the whirpool turbing, the second time we use it. That was weird, but just a small thing. The rest was great, though!
