I stayed one night at Nayara Springs (after one night at Tented Camp). The whole Nayara property is huge & would be hard to navigate on foot by myself, and very beautiful. The golf carts will take you anywhere. The staff was so warm and helpful across the board. My room (V07) was beautiful, clean, comfy, & fairly spacious. The patio & plunge pool were nice, & it was very private but I didn't have a volcano view (or any view). The room service menu at Springs wasn't as much to my taste as Tented Camp, though, & the room service breakfast was fine but not amazing. All 3 resorts share restaurants, pools, etc. beyond that. The food & drinks across my stay were mostly excellent. What's great is that even at Springs or Gardens, you still have access to all of the resort grounds, pools, restaurants, etc. and most activities. One tip, if you're going to move between the resorts at Nayara, I'd recommend doing Tented Camp last, so you're moving up and not down :) I enjoyed the coffee tasting class at Mi Cafecito, as well as my spa treatment (green coffee wrap with Erika). I didn't get to spend tons of time at the various pools but did pop by a few & found them beautiful & enjoyable...the Termas (hot springs) were small and private, tucked into the jungle. Cielito Lindo pool (adults only) was great, nice bar too. Each of the bars have different drinks, so it was fun to bar hop between them. Overall I can't speak highly enough about my stay here, except that I was too short!

Not much, just nit-picky stuff. Do be aware that the golf carts can sometimes take a really long time to come, particularly around dinnertime (like 20-40 minutes), but even other times. "Normal" is like 5-10 though. But plan accordingly. Also, the patio lounger doesn't have any comfortable pillows, & is not in the sun at all so not good for laying out. So go to the main pools for that. I didn't necessarily think my room (while lovely) really reflected the price of the stay, but certainly you're paying for the overall resort & location as well.

The resort is absolutely incredible! It is located in the heart of a lush rainforest with the local ecosystem being preserved. The facilities and accommodations are beautiful, clean and well-maintained. The villas are spacious and feature a thermal-water jacuzzi pool on a huge terrace. It was truly amazing to soak in the jacuzzi overlooking the jungles after dark. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and taken care of, and I felt like I was staying with family and friends. The resort is quite spacious, perfect for walking and hiking lovers like me. But for those who prefer not to walk, gold cars are readily available. Overall, I had an incredible experience and would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a luxurious yet eco-friendly retreat in the heart of nature.

Leaving. Normally it is fully booked during the high season, so do plan your stay in advance

Nayara Springs is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. The staff were amazing, and the hotel itself absolutely perfect. The room was spotless, the outdoor natural hot spring pool incredible. There is also so much to do on the doorstep, with easy access to Arenal National Park, La Fortuna town, sloth trails, the volcano and lava fields and so much more. I can't stress enough how wonderful a stay we had. In addition there are so many options for food with everything from Costa Rican, to Tapas, to Italian and Asian. We stayed for 8 nights and had the most wonderful time.

Nothing.

This was the best hotel experience I have ever had. There were a lot of staff, so there was always someone available to help out. The staff were also all charismatic and made the stay a lot of fun. The food was excellent and the grounds of the resort were immaculately cared for. Their gardeners do impressive work! I hope Nayara continues to keep their extensive staff and continues to keep them happy enough to do such an excellent job!

Other hotels and resorts have been ruined for me, and I cannot afford to visit regularly.

I rated the "location" as less than excellent because the ONLY drawback was the 3 hour windy drive from Liberia airport. To get back we chartered a small plane which was absolutely worth it (20 min flight). We were celebrating a birthday at Nayara and the staff went out of their way to make every day special. They knew all of our names (six of us) and our favorite drinks and preferences as soon as we'd walk into any of the eating establishments. We hated to leave, but can't wait to go back for another stay.

The bathroom lighting was dim, so bring a lit make-up mirror if that is importable to you!

My wife and I travelled to Nayara Springs on our honeymoon and they couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating. The location and resort is truly something special - sloths genuinely are JUST THERE when you're by the pool. The food and drink is incredible (if not a little pricey, but that's me trying to find one small fault) and the villas are something special. As LGBT+ travellers I couldn't recommend them more, we put a lot of research into where we stay, and I couldn't recommend them more.

As mentioned above, your bill can become a little punchy if drinking the very tasty cocktails but that is meaning being picky, and being from the UK forgetting the additional tax and service charges they add. They are totally worth it

The villas are absolutely stunning and the setting very scenic and relaxing. We were in love with our room and felt that was by far the best part of our stay. The staff was absolutely wonderful at every interaction we had (and several that we didn’t need to have because they’d already anticipated our needs!!). Small touches like free laundry, free snacks at the mini bar make you feel truly welcome at a place that’s not trying to nickel and dime you, like most other resorts.

Food was always good but not particularly memorable for us - don’t expect Michelin quality food. WiFi was flaky - kept dropping connections and getting things done was impossible at times. The spa was good too but seemed more focused on spreading rose petals than giving the highest quality treatments. The spa setting is extremely scenic and relaxing though, so it absolutely makes up for any nitpicking.

Very good guest facing staff. Excellent location. Superb guides.

The lack of any genuine luxury that used to be synonymous with Relais et Chateaux. Very spacious rooms, but only adequately furnished. Woefully poor breakfast buffet but excellent a la carte option. Seriously badly supervised reservations team, who repeatedly ignored requests and came within a whisker of causing me to walk away.

I absolutely loved the hotel; it was beautiful, exceptional and a real treat of luxury for myself in the end of my 2 week trip around Costa Rica. The restaurants were really great, all the ones I tried. The buffet breakfast at Nayara Gardens was nice and extensive and it was delightful view of the Arenal Volcano. The staff were incredible, so accommodating, exceptional service from each and every member. The spa treatment with Liseth was very good, she is very experienced and professional. All the bellboys were so helpful, helping me find frogs or toucans in the middle of the resort, really kind and respectful. I was blown away by the resort, it was amazing, and I had an incredible time here with myself. 2 days, 2 nights, was perfect, a 3rd night would have been a treat. Spa and the ability to walk around the resort was amazing and the mini bar is on the house, which is great (excl the alcohol), but this is a great sentiment given the high price one pays for the room. Thank you for an unforgettable stay, I will be back,

A la carte options for breakfast at Nayara Springs, I think this should be switched to Buffet as well then they will have more residents coming here for breakfast, in the adults only restaurant. The A La Carte felt a bit limited and not much variety. As a solo diner, I had to wait quite a fair bit for my dinner at Asia Luna on the 2nd night, despite being one of the first attendees to the restaurant that evening, I am not sure why it took so long, however I was provided with an appetiser on the house, however I was not told why there was such a delay.

beautiful, lush surroundings. clean rooms and aesthetically pleasing design

It’s hard to find many dislikes, only feedback could be to play different types of music at the main pool, sometimes it was a little loud and didn’t match the calm, serene environment of the rest of the resort.
