The hotel has a very nice location and the staff was nice and helpful. There is a good air conditioner and the facilities are overall convenient. The breakfast was really nice we thought- finally not an insane amount of food that just creates waste like in other hotels. The location is very central and close to everything and it was very convenient to go to the beach, night market etc.

I wouldn't give the hotel 4 starts to be fair, I think it is more of a good 3 stars option. I think the facilities are nice but all the furniture, sheets, pillows are very basic and simple (ikea style). We had some problems with the shower that were not fixed quickly (but this is also because of the services of the area) and everything is just quite basic but not above and beyond, as you would expect from a 3 stars hotel.

I absolutely loved my stay at Elixir Hotel! 🌟 This is not your typical touristy resort; it's a unique gem. Run by the owner, who prepares made to order breakfast from a few options she makes available daily. The rooms are cleaned daily, and Eliza even maintains the pool herself. Waking up to nature's sounds and stunning sunrises was magical. Plus, it's just a 5-minute walk from Tamarindo's city center, perfect for nightlife enthusiasts. Countless beachfront restaurants, food courts, and vibrant street markets await! 🌅🏝️🍽️ Most importantly I felt comfortable and safe my entire stay & as a solo traveler that’s number one for me. I had to rush out to catch my transportation that showed up early!!! I was rushing so bad but Elize still managed to make me breakfast to take on the road with me!! Y’all that AVOCADO TOAST!!!!! 🔥😍👌🏾

Everything was absolutely amazing! Elisa is a great host, she gave me a lot of valuable information. It was so nice that she makes breakfast for each guest herself. It gives you a feeling that you’re not in a hotel, but just visiting your friend. Her avocado toast has already become a legend!😍 The furniture in the room is quite new, one has everything one needs for a comfortable stay. There’s no kettle in the room itself, but one can easily get some hot water (and cold) water 24/7 on the ground floor. A big supermarket is pretty close to the hotel, and there are a lot of restaurants and food courts in the area. Tamarindo beach is 7-10 minutes walk, which was absolutely okay for me.

The property is set up well and is walking distance to everything in Tamarindo. The pool is beautiful, AC in our suite was great (get the suite if I’m your budget the extra space is worth it). Right across the street and down the street that you can go to. Supermarket and banks also close by. Elisa is also such and sweet and knowledgeable host - she was on top of everything at the property.

I agree with other reviewers on the bed and pillows not being as comfortable. Same with the couches in the suite. This was not a big deal for us as were out most of the day, we still really enjoyed our stay.

ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING! The warm welcome was genuine and kind. We were allowed early checking since our room was ready. We were provided a map of the town and Elise took the time to go over the town and beaches with us (they do this often in Europe.) The room was close walking distance to everything in Tamarindo, including the beach, shops, and restaurants. The breakfast was quaint and delicious ou ser the covered patio. I recommend the avocado toast with eggs on top- delicious! There are lawn chairs at the pool, and some in the shade!!!! The room is modern and clean, with two complimentary bottles of water. The A/C works great and there’s a mini-frig. Elise, the owner, pointed out some monkeys you could see from the property. We could leave our luggage after check-out for a later shuttle. It’s safe; there is gate code to enter property. There’s also a filtered cold/hot water dispenser for guests to use. If you’re looking for a clean, well-kept, place with an owner that takes pride look no further!!! a highly recommend!!

This place is a gem. The property is great and the host is wonderful. She was so helpful, kind and attentive during the entire stay, and The rate was very competitive. The rooms are designed very nice and and super clean. It is a quiet and secure property but is also close to all the places to go in Tamarindo. The cooked to order breakfast was a fantastic touch and very delicious.

I absolutely LOVED the location of this property. it was walking distance to everything you may want to do in Tamarindo. A local woman, Elisa (or Alyssa), owns this property and she’s there everyday to make sure things are running smoothly and she was amazing. She also has this cute little Dachshund who comes with her and she was so cute! This was a small property but very quiet and perfect for people looking for that. There’s a pool to lounge at, as well as a hammock and some lounging chairs not seen in the photos. for the price, this property is unbeatable. The breakfast in the morning was also amazing. There was a good amount of storage space in the room as well.

There was no ventilation in the bathroom other than the window. However, with it being a tropical place, we decided to keep the window closed to keep bugs out. This caused the bathroom to get quite steamy.

The location was perfect! Just far enough from the center for it to be quiet but literally minutes walking from shopping, restaurants and bars and the beach! The hotel is new and clean and I enjoyed the pool. Elisa was so kind and accommodating and great with communication prior to and during my trip. This is the kind of hotel and staff that you want your money to go to. You can tell they care about their guests and take pride in the property. I had an early morning excursion one day and the cook was so kind to get me breakfast and coffee before his shift even started which was so appreciated!!! I would absolutely stay again when back in Tamarindo!

loved the layout of our suite. getting in and out was excellent as well, and the location was excellent. just a 2 min walk to the main road. the people who ran/owned it were so kind and so accommodating. and the property itself was really beautiful. the pool (although full of leaves) looked really quite nice and if we had more time we almost certainly would have swam in it. overall I would highly recommend this property for the location alone but certainly for how nice it was.

pretty much the entire bed set up was slightly uncomfortable. the pillows were so stiff, it was really not that comfortable, and there was only one set of sheets. even though Costa Rica is hot, it would have been nice to have a couple extra sheets since the AC worked so well. also the tv was so small, it was almost impossible to see what was on the screen.

The arrival process was easy and the owner and staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast was consistent and tasty and where the property is located supported us in relaxing. We had great access to the local amenities/restaurants and the beach, while feeling removed enough that the hotel was quiet. Thanks to Lisa and staff for a wonderful stay and highly recommend.
