Excellent location, staff friendly and helpful, walk to everywhere in Waikiki or bus at doorstep to go further.

The rooms are looking tired and dated,but they are clean and have all facilities.

Being just a couple of blocks away from the ocean front was brilliant - able to wander from hotel to beach front in swimming gear without wallets and valuables - or enjoying early morning walks by the ocean. Bamboo Waikiki has well appointed rooms with comfort and cleanliness their top priority. Pleasantly surprised at the spaciousness of the room - with a very comfortable bed and nice linen. Having air conditioning is a must in Honolulu - which allowed us to close doors when wanting to 'nest' and relax in the room. The pool and restaurant facilities are exceptional - food fantastic - with friendly hosts and a lovely fun vibe to enjoy and relax into "holiday mode". Five stars from me - Mahalo Bamboo Waikiki !!

Next time I'll request a room higher up - level 3 city views located above pool and restaurant facilities tended to be a bit noisy with Saturday night customers (if balcony doors were open). The restaurant trading hours of 5 to 10pm meant it wasn't right through the night...

We had read the reviews and went in with an open mind knowing the price, and brought our own beach towels. When we arrived, we were accidentally put into the wrong room, which had an unmade bed and dishes in the sink. At this point, we were worried. One call to the front desk, though, and we were in the right room, which was clean and perfect for what we needed (a kitchenette and a balcony). The location is unbeatable, especially for the price. You are a three block walk from the heart of the beach. Some things to be aware of: there is no maid service for your room. This means collecting your own toilet paper and taking your garbage to the disposal in the parking garage (aka: basement). There is also a slight shortage of beach towels. Twice during our stay, they were out when we asked for clean ones and we used the ones that we had brought with us. You do need to reserve parking and the spots are TIGHT, even with a compact car. Previous reviews mentioned construction, which we didn’t experience during our stay. The pool area, we felt, is beautiful. Yes the hotel is slightly dated, but it has charm. If you are looking for 4 or 5 star, this may not be for you, but I would happily rebook in a heartbeat!

Great location and loved the spacious rooms. Pool area was so inviting.Room had a fridge and microwave which was nice. The hotel provided shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Was Hawaiian Tropic.

No hot water for several days. They did get fixed 2 days before we checked out. The restaurant was closed for several days. We arrived on a Saturday and it opened the following Wednesday. Some of the staff were not super friendly. The beds were too hard.

The room was very nice, with the bamboo feeling like nice retreat ambient, we had better room than requested, maybe because we upgraded to mountain view on the last minute and that was the one available... The staff was definitely the best, helpful, nice, friendly, polite and on top of everything, they helped a great deal when we extended our stay one whole week and they managed to give us the same room regardless of hotel being fully booked in high season. The swimming pool was just as in the pictures, nice place to chill and relax after a day of hiking and exploring. Food was good and they had vegan option which is all we needed ☺️ The views of the mountains every morning having our coffee was compelling. I doubt I will be looking for another place to stay if I am lucky enough to come back to O'ahu any time soon :D

Sadly we spent 3.5 weeks with only one elevator out of two, as they were refurbishing them. It would have been great if they had done the works faster considering it was July and it took forever to wait for it and there are no available stairs (why? To be able to use stairs if we wish would be nice 😊)

I recently had the opportunity to stay at Castle Bamboo Waikiki, and I must admit, my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. While the property is a bit outdated, it has a lot of potential and the location is undeniably great. Walking distance to many places to eat, shop and of course the beach. The shining gem of this establishment is undoubtedly the exceptional General Manager, Wade who was helpful because of an issue we had in our initial room.

This hotel may be showing its age, it possesses an undeniable potential that, with a much-needed makeover, could transform it into a true hidden gem. The initial room we got had issues where the fridge didn't work and the AC was wonky, but it was resolved quickly.

Location is perfect and I've stayed at Bamboo a few times before so aware of facilities and location. Room was biggest I've ever had at the hotel - probably a bit too much space for 1 person but perfectly clean and good kitchenette facilities. Handy to the beach - handy to everything. I love that part of Waikiki.

The hotel is undergoing renovations which have been going on for some time. The rooms seem to be completed but one lift was out while work was going on, so slow at times. Overall though they're bringing it up to scratch and doesn't take away from the feel of the hotel.

Perfect location a few streets back from the hustle and bustle of the main drag,easy walking distance to beach,bars ,restaurants and shops. The pool area is a great place to chill and read a book with plenty of shade The hotel is a little tired but has all the essentials for an enjoyable stay in Waikiki

The only negative is there was no option for house keeping offered we felt that it would have been nicer had the room been serviced during our stay

the decor...or overall theme, was probably dated, but honestly added to the charm of the whole place. Loved the carpet on the walls in the elevator. Super vintage lol I don't think that was their aim...but I thought it was great. We loved our little spot and would definitely recommend it to friends/family. GREAT location too for the price. The staff, like the bartender at the grill at night, was super friendly.

Can't remember that there were many downsides here...their menu didn't seem very appealing, but honestly we didn't even eat food there since there was so much to try that was near us.

Accommodation in Waikiki (and all Hawaii) is super expensive, so nowhere is cheap. But, compared with other hotels this place represented good value. Staff were awesome, location was great. The pool and bar area were really nice and relaxing - an oasis with palm trees to retreat to from the Waikiki traffic and noise.
