Everything about the hotel is really good. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the rooms were very clean, and the view from the window is fascinating

Almost nothing, except for not being able to provide me with the key of the door between the two connected rooms I booked as it was lost.

Stayed here one night in Alexandria after spending two nights at a fancy Hotel on the corniche. The hospitality was significantly better here. Humble but very clean rooms. Mine (pronounced “Meena”) checked me in and he gave me great recommendations of things to see in the city. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe here, and felt the staff cared about my experience both at the hotel and in Alexandria. Would definitely stay here again. *Noting that another reviewer was doubting that other businesses in the neighborhood have daily power outage from 9-11pm. While some smaller businesses seem to have generators, the rest of the neigbborhood is out and this is practiced in 2 hour time slots in each neighborhood across the city. According to a local friend, it is due to gas inflation caused by war betwen Russia and Ukarine and is a new practice for the country.

We stayed at Alexander the Great Hotel only for a few nights, but we absolutely enjoyed every second of our time there. Here's why: 1)First of all, the hotel is close enough to all the main highlights of Alexandria and that means you can explore the city on foot. This is especially important to me, as I believe this is the best way to discover every city. 2) The room wasn't exactly a... room, but a whole apartment, a really nice one too! This fact made us feel like we were guests in a cozy home, rather than a faceless hotel. There were many moments that we felt like we were actually living there, especially when we enjoyed our breakfast at the balcony with the magnificent view. 3) Minas, the owner, made our time there even more special. He is very kind, so sweet, and really helpful with everything we needed. Plus, you should definitely pay attention to his recommendations over restaurants. We visited the most of the places he recommended and we were thrilled! 4) The apartment was really clean and the bed comfortable. 5) The price is more than fair. So, I highly recommend this place and I would happily stayed there again.

The elevator was out of order during our time there, but honestly we didn't mind at all. It's very easy to climb these stair and consider that I am telling this, while I have a bad knee.

It's ok, it's a simple room with a bathroom, mini fridge, AC. Most of the time i spent was outside but it's generally on the OK side of things, just don't come with the expectations of "hotel" hotels from Radisson Blu and such. It's just a high end room rental not the traditional "hotel" concept you're used to

Obscure location, extremely hard to find. Small sign hidden behind a large tree. Just go to the exact location and look for an apartment building entrance that has the "Alexotel" sign or ask local shops at the location. It's not a famous place so don't expect taxi drivers and average residents to know it. Also it's a bit difficult to land an uber. Fixed breakfast (not open buffet) but it's nice tbh. However my main problem was cost efficiency. I was in a hurry but if you dig deep enough i think you can find full apartments for rental at a fraction of the price .

The hotel upgraded my room to a double. Spacious and clean room. All facilities were working perfectly, AC, TV, bathroom and hot shower. The bed was comfortable. The hotel and the street was quiet. It was overall a very nice stay.

The hotel being in the first floor and close to street level, I didn't like that there was no window shutter that is completely secure. I didn't feel very safe on my first night feeling that anyone on the street could break in if they wanted to. I hope they add it. However, the street is very safe and there's police right around the corner at the nearby church.

Entrance was not clear, there are no proper pictures of it online. No parking for hotel specifically but we found a nearby parking spot anyways

Very clean room. Doing cleaning every day if u ask, shower soup, set for tea, water are included, towels are clean. Wonderful view on an old church from a balcony, full apartment is yours, 2 conditioners, close location to most famous places

Location of hotel is not obvious, the name covered with trees, taxists were need time to find it. Elevator was not working, our apartment was in 5th floor, I hope they ll fix it soon Staff offered other apartment in different building with elevator, but I found booked is better. So we stayed there

Staff was very helpful. They allowed me to check in early, gave me a free upgrade to a better room, and accommodated all other requests I had.

Hotel is located on a pretty industrial street. It is very centrally located, though. Close to a lot of major attractions.

The room was clean and all the facilities were up and running. The staff were polite, and the overall greek vibe of the hotel was absolutely beautiful and unexpected.

1. We couldn't find the hotel easily upon arrival as there were signs at the entrance of the building 2. I didn't like that we had to stay at another separate building (that's one street or so away from the main building) where they had the rest of their apartments there . Although I've seen a lot of guests staying at the main hotel (mostly foreigners), and who ere enjoying there time at the lobby by the mini library, such facilities were not available at the other building. I had the impression that most likely they didn't want any Egyptians to stay at the main building or something? I don't know.

The hotel was not far from most attractions - a 15 minute walk or maybe a 2 USD Uber ride away. It was so clean, spacious and well maintained. The staffs were polite and helpful. I heard that not all rooms have wifi, however our apartment had very good wifi.

There was an issue with late check out. Almost all hotel will let you check out late if the room is not occupied without any charge. Unfortunately, they demanded 100 EGP for every one hour of late check out. However, I told them that it had not been mentioned to us during the booking so we were not obliged to pay that. Lastly they did agree with us and decided not to ask for the payment.
