I have traveled to many countries and stayed in countless hotels – often very expensive ones – but no hotel has ever come close to this one. Sayed, the hotel owner, treated me like a family member from the very beginning. He even took me free of charge to magical places in Luxor that regular tourists would never reach. For me, this was a truly unique experience on my trip to Egypt, one I will never forget. I was also deeply impressed by how fresh and clean the food was prepared – from shopping at the market all the way to serving the meal. I was even allowed to accompany him to the market and see the whole process until the food was on my table. Sayed puts great importance on ensuring his guests receive only the best, just as he would serve his own family. And you could really taste the difference! From the very beginning I was free to be wherever I wanted, and I always felt safe and comfortable. As a German traveler, this point was very important to me – and for Sayed, it was a top priority that all guests feel welcome and safe around the clock. I received support at any time, whether I needed an airport shuttle, wanted to book a tour, or asked for honest feedback about tours I had already booked. The rooms were extremely clean and quiet, cleaned daily, with very comfortable beds, excellent air conditioning, and I slept wonderfully. The hotel staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Other guests also expressed their gratitude several times a day, because many of the things we enjoyed here at the hotel were far from being taken for granted. There is also a pool and a very green and well-maintained garden. What I really appreciated was that at no point was I pressured to do anything or spend money on things I didn’t want or need. I could simply do whatever I wanted, which made my stay especially pleasant – without ever feeling uncomfortable or unsafe. I can warmly recommend a stay here to everyone.

I want this review to be the one that makes you book this hotel because it is worth every penny of your money. To think I almost passed on it 😫 First the location is central. Easily accessible to almost everywhere in town Secondly the environment. Very serene, clean and homely. The decor in the room follows an antique style which is absolutely amazing. The pool is always clean and the view from the rooftop OMG! Especially at night, absolutely amazing! The food!! Is a 10/10. The breakfast buffet is full of varieties and the options vary daily so no menu fatigue. You choose how you want your eggs to be fried. Their chef knows their onions. The food was really delicious that I even had the grilled Seabass fish twice in a roll!. Now to the best part of my stay, the hospitality. For context, I have been travelling around other cities in Egypt before arriving in Luxor and I can tell you this was the place I felt at peace the most. The owner is very honest!! Everything you get here is the best deal. I was able to drop my haggling hat and deal with someone who has integrity. He looked after us like his own. Almost everything was provided and any other thing was just an ask away. He even personally drove us somewhere so we could get the best material and price we wanted for a particular item. They also packed us breakfast when we had to leave the hotel at midnight. I cannot overemphasise how amazing everything about this hotel is and I am sure you’d find a level of consistency between my review and many others who stayed in this hotel. It’s is worth every penny of your money. This is not a decision you’d ever regret. I wasn’t coerced to give this review, this is the true representation of my experience at this hotel.

I loved everything!!

The hotel is more than excellent it looks like you stay with your family in uper egypt. Mr. SAYID is so helpful and generous . Mr . MUSTAFA unique person ,super respectful and wonderful friend. Mr.Ibrahim is so friendly and helpful...all the staff amazing... the food, fresh, healthy, and delicious . The sunshine and sunset were so nice from my room , the view gave me all the energy with green fields. The hotel makes my trip so special... I RECOMMEND 👍👍👍

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel! From the moment I arrived, the owner’s attention to detail really stood out. Everything was spotless, organized, and thoughtfully prepared. I was pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a beautiful room with a stunning view, and it made my stay even more memorable. The room was newly renovated, modern yet cozy, with all the little touches that show how meticulous the owner is about guest comfort. The location was perfect - peaceful, close to key attractions, and a great spot to relax. What really makes this place special is the warm hospitality. You can tell the owner truly cares about creating a great experience for guests. I’d absolutely recommend the New Memnon Hotel to anyone visiting, whether for one night or a longer stay, you’ll be well taken care of here! Another highlight was the restaurant - the food was delicious, fresh, and full of authentic Egyptian flavors. Every meal felt homemade with care, and it was such a treat to enjoy it while taking in the peaceful surroundings. The combination of a great location, beautifully updated rooms, and genuine hospitality made this one of my favorite stays in Egypt. Highly recommend!

We loved everything about New Memnon hotel! Sayed, the hotel owner, gave us a warm reception and made us feel at home during our stay. The room was confortable and cozy and the garden and pool were pleasent areas to relax after a day out exploring Luxor. The hotel also has a rooftop with an explendid view to the balloons at sunrise. We highly recommend going up to the roof to see them! Besides the included breakfast, which was very complete, they also serve lunch and dinner with delicious traditional dishes. Sayed also arranjed it for us to be picked up from the airport and droped of at the bus station at the time of our departure. He really made our stay very confortable and stress free. We'll definitely be back!

I had a very pleasant stay at the New Memnon Hotel. The location is excellent, just outside the busy center of Luxor, so it’s much calmer and very relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The swimming pool is a great place to unwind, and the rooftop terrace offers a beautiful view in the evenings. The food was also a highlight. Breakfast had more than enough choice with fresh products, and I enjoyed both lunch and dinner there as well, delicious meals at very reasonable prices. The room I stayed in was large, spotless, and had a lovely garden view. The garden itself is charming, with bunnies keeping the grass short, which adds to the relaxed atmosphere. What really sets this hotel apart is the owner, Sayed. He is a wonderful host who truly cares about his guests and his staff. We shared a tea together where he explained his vision of hospitality, and it’s clear he puts it into practice every day. Because he treats his workers well, they, in turn, provide excellent service. His presence and effort to make every guest’s stay the best possible were always noticeable. It was also nice to see how highly regarded this hotel is locally, whenever I was picked up by a guide or taxi driver, they would comment on what a good hotel it is. I came here on a friend’s recommendation, and now I can see why. Overall, the New Memnon Hotel is a calm, welcoming, and very well-run place. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Luxor.

The shower has separate warm and cold water settings. It works fine, but it’s important to close the warm water tap first. I learned that through personal experience!

“A wonderful stay on the West Bank of Luxor” We stayed at the New Memnon Hotel & Restaurant and it was the perfect choice for our trip. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the Colossi of Memnon and very close to all the main temples and tombs on the West Bank. We especially want to highlight the attentiveness of the owner, Sayed, who personally arranged all our visits with reliable drivers at very fair prices. Thanks to his help, we could make the most of our time in Luxor and enjoy everything without any stress. The hotel staff were also very kind and helpful, making us feel comfortable throughout our stay. The food at the restaurant was delicious, homemade and plentiful – perfect after long days of sightseeing. We also loved the rooftop terrace with its peaceful views over the fields and mountains, and the swimming pool, always clean and refreshing after the heat of the day. Our room was comfortable, spotless and had everything we needed. The value for money is excellent. In short: a simple but very welcoming hotel, with warm hospitality that makes you feel at home. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Luxor who wants comfort, good food, a pool and outstanding service.

This was by far my best stay in Egypt. The room I stayed in was newly renovated, spacious, and very comfortable — but what truly made the experience special was the kindness and care of the hotel’s owner, right from the moment of check-in. As a solo female traveler, I always look for safe and welcoming places, and at New Memnon I felt completely at home, almost like part of the family. I received all the support I needed to enjoy Luxor without worrying about logistics or unreliable providers. Mr. Sayedi took care of everything in a fair, transparent, and respectful way, which gave me peace of mind and allowed me to focus on the beauty of the city. I had such happy and memorable days here. I wholeheartedly recommend New Memnon to anyone who wants not only a great stay, but also a truly authentic and heartwarming experience in Egypt. I’m sure you’ll fall in love with it just as I did.

Everything was perfect.

I had a wonderful stay at the New Memnon Hotel. The owner and all the staff are truly lovely, very kind and welcoming, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. The garden is beautiful and perfectly maintained, a true haven of peace. The swimming pool is undoubtedly the big highlight, ideal for cooling off in the heat. Finally, the breakfast was generous and delicious, perfect for starting the day. I highly recommend it!

On the other hand, there isn't much to do in the surrounding area in the evening. In the room, the shower is open and only separated by a curtain, which isn't very comfortable, especially since the curtain was sticky. I wasn't entirely comfortable sleeping because our room with three single beds was a bit lacking in space, and the air conditioning was quite noisy.

Gem of a hotel. Great location for the Valley of the King's. Very quiet so not great if you want nightlife and a choice of restaurants but we enjoyed having a rest and ate in the hotel every night. This was unusual for us but you have to be up so early to get to the attractions before the crowds and the heat, that some enforced rest was really appreciated. The food in the hotel was exceptional, particularly the fish tagine. The hotel owner was incredibly helpful and arranged drivers and a guide to take us to the various attractions. Again, we usually do all of this ourselves and I was a bit resistant at first but it was far easier to have a private tour. All trips were reasonably priced and the drivers and guides were excellent. The owner helped us to have a fantastic holiday.
