Look no further. Stay here!! This has been our favourite accommodation in Egypt. Hands down. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. The views of Hatshepsut temple from the roof terrace was amazing. We enjoyed the views from the pool as well as over breakfast. The breakfast was plentiful and they aimed to please us. They took time to get to know our preferences and adapted things to help us such as making scrambled eggs instead of omelette for our fussy children! The room we had was enormous and clean. We ate dinner here both evenings because we could order Egyptian food for the adults and Western food for the kids and it was reasonably priced as well as being delicious. For a family of 5 a private boat to the other side of the Nile worked out cheaper than the ferry. We just hailed taxis and haggled for a good price to visit Karnak, Luxor Temple, Felucca ride, Valley of Kings, Colossi of Memnon, Hatshepsut Temple and Medinat Habu. All were amazing....but a bit hot in August!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Thebes Hotel. It was very clean, with a fantastic rooftop restaurant and rooftop swimming pool, overlooking the Valley of the Kings. Our room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. Breakfasts on the rooftop were great and the owner kindly provided free tea and cakes on Thursday afternoons. He also made a point of greeting us personally which we thought was a nice touch. He also kindly organised a sunrise hot air balloon trip for us, which was superb. The hotel has lovely gardens on the ground floor which you could easily miss. From top to bottom, we thought the Thebes Hotel was a lot tidier and aesthetically pleasing than many others. Also, the hotel benefits from being down a short path (approx 75m) off from the main road, so we didn't here any road noise at night. Access from Thebes Hotel to the hot air balloon site, and to all the west bank attractions could not have been better, and way easier than travelling from the east bank. Within minutes we were exploring Valleys of the Kings, Queens, Nobles, and Workers, Memnon, Hatshepsut and Medinet Habut. It was all so quick and easy. In the evenings we could have eaten at the rooftop restaurant, but we wanted to explore. We found a number of great restaurants on the Nile, just 5 minutes away by tuk-tuk. We had no trouble getting tables on the riverbank at Thebes Restaurant and Nile View Restaurant, both superb. It's a similar short trip to and from the ferry terminal on arrival and when its time to leave.
Nothing not to like.

Arguably the best place in Luxor to visit the West Bank. Located at the end of a side street off the main road near public transportation (mini busses and taxis) and small shops. Less than 5 minutes by car to the Colossi of Memnon and just a little further to the ticket office. They have a vast choice of services including a laundry service, taxi to the airport or any other destination, the rental of a felucca. You name it and they most likely will be able to help you out. We stayed in the junior suite. It was clean, cool, spacious and quiet. The food is good and reasonably priced. We planned on staying for just 5 nights, but extended our stay with 2 nights just because they were so nice. The owner Mohammed and the staff were very helpful, polite and kind. Always ready to help us out. I am not much of a breakfast person, but really enjoyed the nice variety of food... coffee, tea, water, feta cheese, freshly baked bread, eggs, jam, etc... The views from the rooftop across the Valley of Queens and the Valley of the Kings are simply breathtaking. It is so nice to wake up every morning to this beauty. And to make things even better, you can take it all in with a cool drink from the side of the pool and if you wake up early enough you can even see all the colorful hot air balloons take off and fly by. A truly amazing sight... just a few a few steps away.

The hotel itself has nice facilities. The pool is great after a hot day sight-seeing. It's a reasonable size for an adult to swim in. Terrace has a wonderful view towards Hatshepsut. The garden area well cared for. My daughter was delighted with the library shelf. I chose to be on the quieter side (West side) of the river. Once you leave the road, the area is quiet, with a rural views to the rear and animal noises. It's a short tuk-tuk ride to the river ferry. We stayed on the east the last night due to an early flight, but I preferred the west. We got good advice from the owner & family.
The plus out weighs any negative. Other than the hotel, there wasn't places that we were confident to eat in the area. I'd like a fridge in the room.

Thebes hotel offered the best service and more. We don't have anything to complain about. From the bedrooms, facilities upto the employees, they offer us a great stay. What I found really nice is, there was sandstorm on our first day until 9pm. And the pool closes at 7pm. But the bartender was really nice and told us we could come back when the storm subsides and can swim. Even the next night, he encouraged us to enjoy the pool and swim. Unfortunately, we were too tired. Also the chef and the bartender in the morning even speaks Dutch 😱😍I really think the employees made 50% of the stay in this hotel really memorable. They gave the word "customer service" a whole new meaning. We would lovero stay here again. Highly recommended!

This was my first visit to Luxor and to this hotel. My train was extremely late from Cairo and i arrived 3am. I had no problem what so ever, even i was allowed to get to room and sleep ...and pay/check in the morning at my convenience. This was the start. Breakfast...i was satisfied. It ia not high class continental but it is wonderful if u ask for flafel and other Egyptian items. Pool very good. Rooftop seating very enjoyable. In all respect, overall i was more than satisfied. Please remember these people are human. May be at peak season everyone might not get 100% perfect service. But i would rather live in a place like this than a corporate chain. Thats just me. Loved each day there. Only drawback, its on west bank, however, most major attractions are on west bank. Hotel offered taxi to major west bank attractions. Cost of taxi was excellent and worked for me. Also, for anyone, local transport is available and very cheap, from hotel walking distance to main junction. Most blue ribbon vans go to public ferry - al bahar- 2 Egypt pound for tht travel, public ferry each way to east bank Egypt pound 5. Takes you to east bank and vice versa. Also, from hotel 15 egp toktok to west bank public ferry, if needs be. At east bank, again blue ribbon vans 2egp for Luxor train station or go bus stop or city centre. But must ask -el mahatta- the station- all blue ribbon vans might not go there. Not related to this hotel but to Egypt in general, ppl find selling tactics in Egypt a wee bit aggressive but thts their traditional cultural way, as other cultures have extravagant way of selling as well. Please don't mind it. Say no with clear concise assertive but respectful manner and all will b good. Anyway all sorted. Hence no issue staying at this hotel.
Nothing. Drawback mentioned in other comment with its solution. I read reviews as well before booking. I do not regret my decision to stay here.

This place was definitely a gem on the West Bank of Luxor & we would stay here again. Good location if you are wanting to explore Valley of the Kings etc. Had a great rooftop pool which is what we needed after exploring the temples in the heat. The staff and owner were really friendly & helpful & booked anything that we needed like our hot air balloon ride. The young guys who worked at the bar upstairs next to the book were fantastic too & would go out of their way to serve us.
While it is a good location on the West Bank, you will still need to get transport to cross over the Nile to Luxor Temple or visit the temples. Which can be a bit of pain after a while, especially when you are coming back at night. The internet did keep dropping off but when it did work, it worked well.

This Hotel is super well located close to the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens. Service was amazing, we had support to move around with a personal driver (and a boat!) at a decent price so we avoided having to negotiate every taxi. Food was good and room service was opened even later than usual hour because we were visiting with little kids. They even moved the TV upstairs to see the World Cup! Mohammed and his team were always at disposal to address any inquiries and were nice and helpful to every one of us.
Pool was quite cold but it was November so not something that was a problem of the hotel rather of the season in which we visited. Everything else worked really well.

After a long journey, getting to rest at this hotel was sensational. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds, air conditioning, refrigerator and a balcony view to the enjoy the view of the espectacular hot air balloons from your room.welcome drink courtesy of the hotel.a espectacular pool, and a bar and a restaurant on the terrace to appreciate the espectacular sunset and sunrise and a delicious breakfast. Mohamed or Fahd tours are the best they coordinate everything for you at much more affordable prices than the agencies! My experience was the best! I give them a 100!! Highly recommended to rest and have a good time. The staff and the owners of the hotel make the stay pleasant and familiar,an experience that I would certainly repeat in the future By the way, if you go here, please ask for the secret room. It's a room with the most espectacular views and bobeda roof so that you'll have a full Egypt experience. THANK you for your service and a will definitely be back soon because I have to live this experience again!! THANK YOU !!!! 😊
Everything was perfect 🥰

The location was excellent and it was very easy to get a tuk tuk or cab to the west bank sites. The local people are so friendly and welcoming and we felt very safe. This is a family-run hotel, and the entire family are delightful. The rooftop pool is fantastic and it's a great place to sit for breakfast and dinner. The food and drink was very good and the service was excellent. They also organise tours and can help you if you need advice. We will stay in the fancy new penthouse room next time, and were very impressed with their plans for the future.
We would have preferred bigger sheets to fully envelope the mattress. The shower area wasn't the best design, but it was clean and we had hot water, so not a complaint. Overall it was a little tired in places, but this is because they had to shut for two years due to Covid, and are finally now able to open and refurbish the hotel.
